ha! so weird. I'll check on a non-necro/non-paladin and see... nope it stayed. maybe I misunderstood the bug, but I paladin ivu'd a zerker and zoned pok -> arena and back and it stayed on. either way not relevant to this thread though I guess. just odd.
 
Really enjoying this one as it makes Necro management so simple. However, I am unable to get him to FD automatically.

I have him on assist and changed the settings on FeignatAggro and FeignAtHealth up and down but he has never done this.

I have a mage pet tanking so he occasionally rips aggro especially on named once all dots are ticking. Any ideas why this has never worked for me? And how to fix?

Are you saying it just doesnt FD period? I have seen it FD, but then pop back up too fast for EQ to clear agro (eq being trash, not plugin).

believe it or not, this is actually a big since pre-release, but NO ONE has mentioned it or noticed.

I noticed and put notes for myself, but i was leery of fixing it since everything seemed fine =p

it currently (for no real reason at all) requires autoattack on to feign

thnx, looks like quite a bit doesn't honor UseNuke. May be an intended design. I'll leave it for Sic to determine.

In the meantime I did submit changes to get bifold usage, Ignite Bones, Synergy, VeninDD, and Orb to honor UseNuke. Pending anything exceptionally unobvious to me Sic will approve that and push when he's ready to build again.

oh can anyone tell me if the necro plugin has auto feign at a health % like the bst plugin does? Just curious
 
It seems that a product of using scent of thule + ignite bones combo, if the mob is slowed by an enchanter or a shaman already, it will chain cast scent of terris AA between every dot/nuke until the mob dies.

Question: Is SpirePyreDotCount And SynergyDotCount The Same?

Issue: When utilizing the Slash Command: /Nec SpirePyreDotCount It reuns Pack SynergyDotCount but gives the value of 5 under SpirePyreDotCount

Testing: Its just reporting back SynergyDotCount but changes the value of SpirePyreDotCount which should report back SpirePyreDotCount

slash command for SynergyDotCount returns back Normal along with changing its value. Its just SpirePyreDotCount is reporting Back SynergyDotCount

Hi Sic/CWTN,

It looks like the plugin isn't using the level 122 Extermination - instead opting for the 117 Extinction spell.

Don't quite understand what's changed in the past few weeks - Have my Necro currently @ 125 in full tier 1 LS gear. Have MOST of the T2 spells, not all.
DPS went from 500-700k on @30s fights in Shadeweavers//Paludal...Down to 150-250k in Timorous Falls.
Fights average the same length...Can't quite put my finger on what's going on.
He's almost max AA - No raid gear - Working on his T2 Set currently.
Have Enhanced Minion XXV which I know plays into some of this...I haven't taken the time to comb through my parses just yet, but even on named burns, he's lagging behind where in the past he's shit on the group readily.

this isn't really an mq2necro question - none of the combat routine was changed.

if you don't have matching AA focus to go with your new spells you'll have a large drop in damage. You also would be missing type 3s for new abilities.
 
This is where I disagree. No disrespect meant.

When you sit down and do the math based on the focus - Even anecdotally, the DPS should be significantly higher. I mean, if I'm actively getting 700k with OLDER spells, there's clearly an issue present.

When I go back to old spells, do the same rot/abilities the plugin used via BYOS to do pre-expac -500-700k. Just parsed 630k using old spells on a spider in Moors.

New spells/abilities - 250-300k. Average - Often lower.

To be clearer - I don't think the focuses are going to bridge 250% dps gap.

New spells were supposed to be much more damage - I'm just not experiencing that.

I think there's either an issue with the rotation, spells being cast or...Something else.

Perhaps the spells have changed enough this expac to revisit a new rotation? Perhaps a substitute for atrophy in the rotation is possible for a swift sub? Or something with umph?

I could be wrong, doing about 1k aa/day atm and will be maxed shortly. I'll have more evidence to provide.

the spell usage wasn't changed.

so if the new spells don't scale as they should - that would be an eq issue not an mqnecro issue.

show me where mq2necro is doing something different than it is supposed to (how it is designed) - because the routine wasn't changed.

if you have the math to support something feel free to show it - but 1st week of an expac when dbg hasn't even fixed broken things - when you don't have the type 3s and focii to match, when depending on what gear you have, you might not be getting the gear focus you expect, where you might not be getting the synergy and other things from other classes you're accustomed to. Dbg is patching tomorrow (and at least last i checked an hour or two ago) and haven't even said what they're patching.

Based on years past when updates miss certain spells or spell lines/groupings etc - no, we're not going to make sweeping changes to something without having more tangible information.
now if after "all the chips have fallen" adjustments in the rotation need to happen - they will... of course they will - but that doesn't appear to be today.

some of the design choices that dbg makes are pretty stupid (tier'd and not linear focus for example).

when dbg is done fixing things to what things "will look like for this xpac" if an adjustment needs to be made it will be.
but a random "maybe a swift dot here instead" with nothing to support it is a hard pass - because it isn't actionable, nor is it supported with anything that could be actionable.

Focus AAs do have a huge impact not sure its that big though.

rank 3 older spell -> rank 1 new spell, focus AAs, type 3s, gear focus, other character spells being high enough to give boost etc.

lots of eq things here that are variable

ya i dont even buy new spells until i have the AAs. You could add a check for what rank of focus AAs a char has and to use them spells but that shit would be too much work.

we only do that for discs, not going to do that for spells - there are too many things that a person might consider - plus some folks heroic -> max level with 0 or only autogrant AAs, and weird stuff like that - just not worth trying to min/max that stuff in that way for that reason --- if someone knows that they don't want to use a new crappy rank 1, they shouldn't memorize it. I generally don't get new abilities until i can at least get the 1st rank of the focus for them because of this

I apologize, what I meant by 'byos'd' was I paused, did the previous spells in the same order as the plugin would've done and I achieved a significantly higher result in the same average time-span.

**While typing this - I watched him just do 180k on a Nokk guard in 33s.**

I never had type 3 spells - I did have //all// type 2 - As of this moment, I have mostly tier 2 spells with mostly tier 2 group gear.

I don't think this is necessarily a plugin issue, I do agree with you there...This could very well be a scaling issue - Shit, it could be resolved tomorrow with the patch...

At this point I'm saying, doing about 33% of the DPS I used to do - Wrote a kissassist to accomplish the use of old spells that currently out-dpsing the plugin by a very wide margin.

When I finish his AA's in the next few days/week - I'll parse more and get more actual evidence to bring to the table.

Necros were heavily stagnated this expansion. A lot of it stems from not having an updated Luminous Restless Ice aug.

This might be a little tl;dr, but to give you a flavor of what this will do to Necro DoT DPS:

The everquest dot formula is approximately:

EffectiveDmg = ROUND(BaseDmg * (1+SPA413+SPA528) * (1+SPA302))
ModDmg = EffectiveDmg * (1+SPA461)
FocusDmg = ModDmg * (1+SPA124)
If you don't crit - your damage basically stops there.
If you do crit:
FocusDmg = FocusDmg * (1+ SPA375)
You you don't TC, your dmg stops there.
If you do TC, just the last value you ended at.

What are each SPA?

For the focus AAs, they go to 49% maxed in LS, or 43% maxed in NOS. The NOS ranks will NOT apply damage to your LS spells.

SPA302:
  1. Focus: Grip of Jabaum
  2. Focus: Ignite Synapses
  3. Focus: Plexipharia's Grasp
  4. Focus: Smouldering Shadow
  5. Post-ROS Pyre BP focuses (9% raid, 7% group)
SPA 413:
  1. Focus: Annihilation
  2. Focus: Glistenwing Venom
  3. Focus: Livianus' Decay
  4. Focus: Mortiferous Wounds
  5. Focus: Plexipharia's Pallid Haze
  6. Focus: Pyre of Jorobb
  7. Focus: Pyre of the Lost
  8. Focus: Scourge of Fates
  9. Aug: Luminous Restless Ice (1 - 10%, depending on your TOV progression)
  10. Enchanter Augmenting Aura line (4% - Level cap dependent)
SPA 528:
  1. Banestrike (2 - 10%, rank depending)

For purposes of the discussion - I'll just focus on showing the "effective dmg" of a few scenarios - since all calculations past effective damage would be the same within the DoT line.

Scenario 1: You don't have maxed out Focus of Jorobb AA line & you're still using a PRE-LS BP, and you're using Rank 1 Pyre of Illandrin, and have 2% banestrike), and you have 8% on your Luminous Aug.
EffDmg=18842 * ( 1+ 0 + .02) * (1 + 0) = 19,219
If you were to use pyre of Va Xakra Rk. 2, you'd get:
EffDmg = 17507 * (1 + .43 + .08+ .02) * (1 + .07) = 28,661
Winner: Pyre of Jorobb by a mile.

Scenario 2: You maxed out your focus of Jorobb AA line & you're still using a PRE - LS GROUP BP.
Rk 1 Pyre of Illandrin & Rk 2. Pyre of Va Xakra:
Illandrin = 18842 * (1 + .49 + .02) * (1 + 0) = 28,451
VaXakra = 17507 * (1 + .49 + .08+ .02) * (1 + .07) = 29,785

All of the DoTs should end up being minor upgrades after upgrading the focus AAs. Until then, they'll be MASSIVE downgrades.

How about NoS raid tier 2 BP… would LS group be a better focus?

Also what if you have rank3 spells too?
 
sic just a quick note the ui for necro is not appearing on login and am having to type /nec toggleui so i can put it on pause is this just me or intended change
