Plugin - MQ2Mage (3 Viewers) 3.1.52471.11

you can either:

a: delete the mq2classname.dll in your plugins folder
or
b: change your macroquest.ini entries for mq2mage=1 to mq2mage=0
or
c: renew your license and download a current version

Unfortunately the current launcher doesn't have a way of deleting old or out-of-date files, so you have to have one of the 3 things above to resolve it.

Question: Summoned Hammer

is there a reaon why the mage dopesnt use these hammers and even though thre are multiple vesions of it just keeps the bags in the inventory with the 2 hammers?

there aere times i literally have 4 bags with just 2 of these items. i had to clear inventory to make room cause then it be stuck on my cursor. thaks

Yes. Because they are threat weapons

It is in the FAQ

Also, go to pok and buy deluxe tool boxes (like 1pp each) so you have 10 real bags. You don't need to keep any empty top level slots
 
searched the post didnt see anything about turn summoned - thought this would attempt to use that AA

maybe i was drinking to much...

could this be added to the named burns - not a bad little AA for summoned mobs

What are the chances we could get a toggle for useswarmpet or useservant only on named? Similar to the beastlord toggle to slow only named? On tlp this is the only thing hindering mage, as the servant line is hugely inefficient for trash mobs that die extremely fast. As always, I love all the plugins and will use them anyways, just always looking for ways to eek out the best dps!

Is there a way to see the order/spell list/logic that the mq2mage plugin uses to cast spells? She doesn't seem to be casting a few of the spells in her lineup and her burns don't look right to me. I would like to see what she is supposed to be doing for comparison.
 
there is no ini for this, mq2mage is designed with a certain routine and burns in mind, you can when you start the plugin see what spells it will use, but in what rotation and burn is not listed in some place.

it would be more useful to ask about what you are asking about specifically - chances are we use whatever, but under certain circumstances or we specifically don't use something --- sometimes some stuff is missing, but that would be unusual

- added automatic bifold usage can toggle off with /mag usebifold off
- made adjustments and improvements to how to check and track twincast uptime/usage
- the target validation fixes in CWTN Commons corrected an issue trying to cast bolts on mobs we couldn't see
-- eq only requires LoS for the spell to LAND not for the spell to be cast
-- these are the "projectile" type spells, where you actually throw something at the mob
- corrected LoS issue for clicky orb usage (Firebound and Minion)

Hello, I have only been using veryvanilla and no other program. So I just purchased MQ2Mage for the first time. I downloaded it, but is there a video on what I do next? How do I get it to load with my redsguides launcher?

Make sure to let the RG launcher download the plugin and not try and do it manually.

Sic, I think you just created a monster here. The MQ2Mage worked really well. I'm very pleased. So I also got the shaman and SK ones and will try them out in a few mins... but I have a question about the SK. He is not ready for tanking. How do I have him just execute DPS skills?

Just set him to assist and not have him as the Main Tank or Main Assist ...then make sure you have your Tank set as Main Tank and Assist so the rest of your crew know who they are fighting for.

Check the link and don't skip stuff. There is a flow chart that says when you do tank stuff like taunting
 
I caved in and picked this up yesterday. I was using kiss before, had sporadic results with the rotations.

I felt the 3 mages even with alliance wasn't quite measuring up to output my F2P melee team had before.

Well, this plugin changed that. The logic in it is great, my alliances line up and the ease of use is awesome. Yea its a bit to learn the new commands and integrate them into my current hotkeys but I 100% would recommend this.

level 110 autogrant mages in conflagrant gear went from 80-120 dps in ToV, needing 4-5 rounds to bring down griklor. To a conistent 170-220k non burn dps with burns that brought down griklor in 2 shots (level 110 autogrant AAs). Its nearly doubled my sustained damage. I'm confident at 115 with AAs ill be 1 shotting Griklor.

Using it in chase mode and doing quests was also very good and easy to use. switching between camp and chase mode gave me no issues. The check boxes gave me the customization I liked especially dealing with damage shields and the choice when to cast Gather.

Worth the 20 bucks, no doubt.

It really is a beauty of a plugin - at 120 and aa capped in group gear, my Mage does a million dps average over the course of a session. I can't do much more than that manually.
 
I have been noticing that recently my ITC isn't triggering reliably during burns. Seems to be about the time that the UseBifoldFocus toggle was added. I do not have the bifold focus and it is not checked.

so when you said "isn't triggering reliably" you mean "itc no longer appears to fire" which are two very different things.

Nothing changed with our ITC usage, other than "normalizing" our "do i have any twincast buff" checks - we're not going to ITC if you have twincast or bifold buff up - and that is checked very high in the rotation - checked multiple times a second. for shits I wanted to see just how frequently that check would go.

This check is "Do I Have Improved Twincast", "Is Improved Twincast Ready", and "Do I NOT Have ANY twincast buffs".

I would also double check you don't have full buffslots - like rolling around with 10-15 "Shadow of ___bullshit" buffs making it so you can't have more buffs. many/most burn AAs we don't check if we're missing the buff from it - because of cooldowns and such. so like silent casting or focus etc --- so if you had full buffs you'd still try and toss it, but for ITC we're checking you don't have any twincast buffs (which in turns checks that you have available buff slot space)

Lots of good advice on things to check on my side, thanks! I did try burning on a guild hall combat dummy it seemed to work correctly. I do not have any of the "Shadow of BS" buffs up, I keep those cleared always. This seems to be a "me" problem. If I can isolate the issue I will post it. Appreciate your looking into it )

because your assist toon is dead.

they don't take over, they just turn on taunt, they'd continue to fight the mob that you're fighting in the hopes it gets rezzed.

melee toons (and hybrid like bst) would continue to fight mobs they're targetting and engaged in melee combat with

caster toons won't unless manual mode with melee or they're in a tanking mode (cause then treat it like they're the tank).

but due to always using MA's target to do stuff to, and backing off if we don't - this is expected

You could swap one (or all) of your mages to a tank mode and group main assist, and then they everyone would now assist that character

this is a limitation to how we (and how we want to) handle assisting and when decide to do actions - it is a trade off on ensuring we're not attacking things we're not intended on attacking

yw - SKs are pretty sustainable toons - surprised to hear "easy enough for mage to kill" but also "sk eating shit all day long" (paraphrase)

anything around those circumstances i we might be able to talk out and see if we can find you a solution?

This has happened before and I just said oh well, rinse and repeat, but thought I would ask about it and see if I am an Idiot :)

I wonder if the SK should FD if snared on an autopull like that. If I was watching I would of FDd if to far from group. And yes I would rather not fight mobs that do that using autopull, but others where in the better camp spots.

less ideal with casters, but for places where the sk is going to get snared during pulls and their self cure isn't going to come back up quickly enough, i'd suggest huntertank with the eskay, and the mages in chasemode

check out the sticky - i have a "how i move my toons around" which goes over some pulling stuff - mq2eskay and mq2war vid also do pulling demonstration.

huntertanking with everyone in chase mode is awesome
 
Yes I did watch a bunch of your Videos and they are great, but being Old I can only absorb so much information at a time hehe.

Friend keeps telling me over and over about stuff in the game that "I told you about that before" :P

I need to go back and watch them again and see what else I can pick up.

oh yeah dude for sure - tons of information.
eq is complicated which understandably makes MQ and all the things available inside mq that way too
 
Hey all, I'm using MQ2MAge and have the UseDS box checked on the UI. But my toon doesn't cast "Circle of Inferno" on the group. What am I doing wrong?

I’m on a TLP and running multiple mages. Up until this week one mage had better pet weapons so I had him handing them out. My group is somewhat scrubby and pets or they all die a lot so there are a lot of weapons handed out. The weapon mage would keep getting stuck with the weapon bag on his cursor which would pause basically freeze him up.

Not sure if you’ve seen this or if there is a recommendation on bag setup? When I do self pet weapons I don’t have this issue and all the weps & bag get out in my real bags.

Not sure. We don't delete anything (intentionally), but you might make time to delete rage weapons and leftover bags.
 
1. Can this thing get a toggle for Symbiosis? It doesn't really make sense to use it when running with a Necro, since it's just going to get overwritten by Atrophy. All that winds up happening is the Mage memorizes the spell, casts it real quick (or doesn't cause of mobs in camp), and then has it overwritten in short order by the Necro's cast.

2. Maybe I'm overlooking something, but it doesn't seem like twincast (the spell) gets used when twincast aura is up from Enchanter. Burn Always is on. Burn Named is on. If this is intended, then I have to ask why. It really should cast the spell even when enchanter aura is running, considering I'm pretty sure that the twincast 100% chance is just used while it's running, and then when it's off the aura's chance to twincast takes over.
