Plugin - MQ2Mage 3.1.52471.11

Not a huge thing and TLP specific at least but when you have use Paradox on and have UseFire turned off mage still summons and uses Molten Orb (Mage currently level 75). He still uses wintry paradox which is great but is still taking the time to summon and then weave in the molten orb which are resisted.

Using Mq2mage and should have just left things alone, but was attempting to move some ui window pieces around. per the video moved it, closed it used /mag show to save.
Now everytime i bring my mage in, I have to /mag show or /mag toggleui for it to pop back up. .... while discussing ui issues though it seems all of my mqwindow reporting is going to my main chat window as well, Please help stop my insanity

if you "x" button exit the window, it is going to be closed when you log in next. if you issue the show command, we update that you want to show it next time.

if you changed any files to "read only" so files can't be updated/changed, then they would not change, for some reason people do this then are curious why settings don't save.
if you are having your MQ files getting scanned or locked by AV/defender, you could also have an issue where it can't read/write them appropriately.

otherwise when you /mag show - and that window is now open, that window is saved in that state, that you want that window shown upon logging in, or reloading your ui - zoning etc - we do.

to load or not is saved in the "MQ2Mage.ini" inside your config folder (NOT inside the cwtn folder).

Here mage 1 and 2 would have their window shown, mage 3 would not

Sorry if this has already been posted. How does this macro handle the new spells? I am now 116 and just bought my new spells, how do I know if it uses or is looking for lvl 116 spells?

Plugin will automatically detect them when you scribe them there is usually some kind of note on the main screen of the plugin when you do get something new that it utilizes. Assuming its something that the plugin actually wants to use, it should start using it right away. You can also type "/mag missing" and it will tell you if there are spells the plugin wants to use that aren't there.

When you update your spells. It says it updated them. It memorized new ones.

When the plugin loads it also spits out the spells it uses.
 
I noticed my (lvl 120) mage using Aegis of Rumblecrush Rk II on pet in stead of the AA Companion's Aegis. AA line takes more hits and for more damage. Is there a reason for this that I am not aware off?

we should use companion's aegis first, then petblock, then petblock auspice. we use all 3. i'll take a look

this bug also prevented fort and host in the shell from firing, so those will be fix't now too

UseXTargetBuffing, what all does it try and buff? Will it try and give pet weapons to pets of players on xtarget?

nah to weapons. it does buffs, for mage that would be the DS line for tank classes
 
What does it mean when it says, "Plugin MQ2Mage could not be loaded. Plugin (was not built for this version of Everquest (was built for Jul 18, 2022 01:04:07)
Never seen this before today! I didn't think my subs had expired until next year so not sure what is going on???
 
I have updated everything already! Closed everything out, rinse and repeat. I just purchased it again as it was not on my list inside the launcher. Hopefully that was the issue.
yup, you have to have a license to download an updated file.

any time you're curious about your plugins - always check your plugin tab

if it isn't updated, it will be red

if it isn't listed, your license likely expired (notices are sent out 30 days ahead of time)
 
Does the MQ2Mage not give pet weapons to enchanters pets?
howdy biggb

it gives it to pets that are not currently holding weapons - so if the enchanter pet already has weapons (like their summoned sword/shield ones) - then no.

(we also only give a bestlord pet 2 weapons after 26, and only give a druid pet 1 weapon since their lvl 55 "nature walker's behest" arms/hands are apparently broken.

we currently, and likely won't, be keeping a list of item ID's check what they're holding to ignore this limitation for enchanter pets - that doesn't mean that won't change, but we have no plans on doing that at this time.

I wasn't using any BYOS or anything else aside from default settings. Was set in Manual mode at the time. Usually, if I turn on auto-attack, my mage would automatically send in his pet and start nuking appropriately. That only appeared to function when Raid Mode was not checked and/or not on a mount.

And "Yes", there was a raid main assist designated.

I run my mage in raidmode frequently, as do many other folks - make sure you have assigned a raid assist in the plugin and in your EQ raid menu --- if you're in raidmode you have to setup to raid assist in both the game and in the plugin.

as with not in raidmode you would need to ensure your campradius is large enough, and your other settings are setup how you would like them to be.

as with all our non-melee classes, manual mode means you're not going to go and start melee attacking - you're still going to look to assist your assist (raidassist in plugin and mq if in raidmode -> group ma if not in raidmode)

there's nothing real special or tricky to it - if this is the first time you're fighting a raidmob, i'd probably tell you to triple check the mob is inside your campradius distance. being on a horse shouldn't have anything to do with anything, i'd start with the base issue first and then revisit the horse.

That parts kind of important! maybe 50% of it.

Don't try, just do it. This is common configuration for the plugin to actually perform.

raidmode requires setting the raid main assist in the plugin and in the eq raid menu for all classes
 
I'd like to formally ask for a change of MQ2Mage to include spam over both EQBC and Dannet which says "Hey get your head out of the sand and set the RaidAssist" when "RaidMode" is enabled.

This is an obvious neglected feature.

Sigh.

KA works for that but my .ini’s are garbage in comparison.
I’ve never had my FULL army level my alts and I’m curious what 100+ accounts assisting @ 80-90 would do.

yes, I understand the optics.
i use empty zones no one goes to on a server no one cares.

edit: was trying to think of a way to use raid mode and then 1 person use KA to assist the main group, they would steal the XP for sure though.
maybe I try to assist @ 49% health with groups of ”2 group raids” , I feel that pushes me to use a new zone (higher hp mobs/Xp?) vs using something like ToFS or CC, Sathir’s even, although it has too many people after everyone found out about it.

this is a "you're on your own" as you get away from built-in functionality - that is not endorsed, supported, or suggested by cwtn or myself despite it being an option that likely works well

Anyone else have issues getting "UseDS" to work? It will not mem the spell. I have turned off "UseSkinDS" and removed all buffs from mage as well as party members. I very well could be missing something. Mage is 120 with the 119 Circle of Emberweave Coat scribed.

Nope, no issues. Keep in mind - we buff tank classes with DS - so make sure you have a tank class that you're expecting to have circle casted upon. That person would need to be a local toon on your pc
 
Thank you for the clarification. That makes a lot of sense. Right now I do not have a tank class which would give that result for sure, 2 pet classes and a healer.

I will need to look into pet tanking options for the time being.

there's not a super good reason to not use the group DS circle spell on anyone (the reason why we don't single everyone is time spent casting on things/people that don't need) i'm going to update DS Group Circle to check anyone
 
Having an issue with range fighting on a raid where MQ2Mage is trying to cast AA Companion's fury, but the pet is too far away at boss. Stuck in a chain loop of AA cast. Is there a way to toggle that off or have it skip if there is an error? I had to dismiss the pet and not raid with it to get my nukes working from 224.9 feet away from boss. Same thing for trying to weave Molten Komatiite Orb, but that is just weaving and not blocking anything else from casting other then other weave spell/clickies so not as annoying.

wow, that is a pretty huge loss not being able to cast companion's fury on your pet, which has a 200 range. I'll add a range check, but would suggest finding a way to be close enough to your pet to put fury up

The problem isn't that I can't cast companion's fury on pet. The problem is it is trying to chain cast it so it will not cast anything else until that check is completed. We are running range dps at 225 feet away from the boss. The only way I can get my guy to work w/ CWTN is if I dismiss the pet.
