Plugin - MQ2Mage 3.1.52471.11

Been experiencing crashes with my mage lately only while in combat. Haven't been able to pin down exactly the cause. Which log file would best provide info that could explain the issue that's occurring?
 
likely due to clicky issue that all the others before you have reported would be my guess. There's a bug in EQ causing the crash. Brainiac did make an alteration to account for the bug iirc. You'll want to use Next or wait until EQ fixes it.

Is there an option in MQ2Mage to turn off summoned clickies? Those are the only ones I can think of that my mage attempts to use on a regular basis.

useparadox is the most frequent culprit to make it happen.

the tl;dr is it is an eq bug that can wtfsplode if the server is too slow removing an item that no longer has charges and should be removed. Brainiac made a "eqbugfix" for it on next

There are a few conversations about it in this thread. If you update to "Next" it is working again

Thanks to a whole bunch of work and digging from @brainiac It appears the mysterious "EQ Mage" crash has a fix/workaround for MacroQuest "Next".

tl;dr - fix'd

longer explain: it is an eq bug, which appears to only happen on mages (tho potentially on non-mages) and in particular with the Paradox clicky. It is most noticable on MQ2Mage since we default to using paradox clicky item.

This EQBugFix is only in next, so if you're still running legacy MQ2, you are likely going to continue to have crashes using certain item clickies that have charges until mule has a fix for MQ2.

I was using Next but decided today to try the original one and I have only had the mages crash. I read that the mages are mostly fixed on Next, so I will turn off the clickies for now. I was testing to see if it was a specific plugin and went down to just a few but noticed it would still randomly crash on random characters. I liked Next better but the crashes are too bad to use it. I have up to 28 characters running at once, so it isn't fun to have a random crash.

all of the crashes get sent automatically to the next developers, and cwtn and i take care of anything that is "cwtn plugin" specific that comes through. so definitely know that your crashes are "being seen"

brain has been tirelessly working on fixing the crashes that happen with things, but it is tough for me to say what is causing your issues directly.

posting in mq2mage thread that all your stuff crashes with next isn't really something I can help you with, but i'm sorry to hear you're having issues.

the "mage clicky crash" specifically is something that was corrected as a "eqbugfix" so it is very unlikely you're having that unless you're not up to date. if you're 260+ then that has been fixed

I am having issues, too, but not crashing. My Mage is gold, level 57. He will summon a pet and equip it, buff the burnout, and then he will continuously cast "Elemental Draw". This spell nukes the pet to buff you with a mana eegen buff. However, I am full mana, and he just keeps casting it until the pet dies, so he summons a new pet and starts the whole process over. I have tried turning off almost everything and I can't get it to end.

it is already patched, unfortunately test needs to be rebuilt to fix it.

having same issue but restless Symbiosis love the plug in though just running it on BYOS
 
Ok, love your plug ins and thanks for taking the time to make them. I use mq2zerk and mq2rogue and now mq2mage currently, but may try others as I do have 12 toons and you have plugins for some of the others. I am new to the mage one so maybe it is just user error.

I play on a TLP and we are just now in VoA expac (LVL 95) and the spell set that comes at this lvl just does not handle the content right vs my KA macro so i switch to BYOS. Here is where i get my issues. If i don't have BYOS on it seems to keep up with pet buffs, character buffs, summoned clickies, other than mod rods, and usage of those clickies. Now, when i have BYOS on with the spell set i want and my KA macro handling stuff it does just fine when i first use my KA macro for the mage and he goes about his day fighting away but will never rebuff his pet buffs, summon clickies other than mana rods, or even do skins. I am trying to figure out why that is?

I even tried to put the summoned items in my spell set to see if that helped but it did not. Any clues to what i need to do to make him cast better spells at this lvl or do i just suck it up and leave BYOS off, which does not seem to deal as much DPS at this lvl.

Yup, BYOS means you bring your own spells and handle your own buff and spell gems, since we don't track your gems in BYOS, we don't memorize anything.

So if you want a different spell load out than the plugin has, you would byos

Thanks and i get that but before i downloaded mq2mage my mage would just use my ini file to do everything i wanted it to, that is not the case now that i have the plug in. Even though i still start my KA macro for my mage when i have the mq2mage plug in loaded but now it wont cast what i want it to, are the 2 programs competing? Do i need to go back to no plug in to get my character to cast the buffs i want him to? I literally have to reload my KA macro when a buff or summoned item gets used up.

kissassist is not mq2mage, mq2mage doesn't use your kissassist ini at all.

you should 100% not use them at the same time etiher. yes, they will 100% conflict.

if you are in byos mode, you will want to exit byos mode or manually cast your spells that require spell gem swapping as i answered previously as byos means you are handling your buffing and your gems

Cool, sorry for the misunderstanding. Is there a way to change the set spells that come with mq2mage? He has some crap spells loaded at 95. I guess at 115 mages have updates to lvl 70 spells but currently that is the first spell in non-byos spell set.

as mentioned a few times now, if you want a different spell loadout than the plugin has, you would byos, and byos isn't going to swap any gems for things like buffing or summoning etc

well with that gem specifically and that tier of spells specifically you would memorize your second vSpear spell (you get, spear of magma in Veil of Alaris at lvl 95, spear of magma at House of Thule lvl 90, and the previous one is unfortunately at 70) at 95 you have spear of magma and spear of molten steel,

so if you are 95, you should have both the 90 and the 95 and not memorize the previous one.

are you missing spells? because yeah, if you're missing spells then you're missing spells and it cant load spells you're missing. the plugin would complain upon startup that it was missing spells and you can check with /mag missing

Just dinged 95 before the patch today, lol, have not not loaded the lvl 95 spells yet, sorry again. Love the way the plugin deals with the pet by the way, that makes this plugin a must for mages. Just trying to maximize my mage and first plug in for a caster for me so i am just an idiot currently with caster plugins and most of this as until relatively recently i 12 boxed with no third party Thanks again.

1. well you aren't saying which items, so i'm just going to take a wild guess and say you're probably asking about firebound - yup, we resummon a firebound.
2. you didn't provide enough to answer this question. you might be in byos, in which case we're not going to memorize and summon things. you might have mobs on xtarget, in which case we're going going to memorize things to summon (unless you have combatsummon pet on and need a pet). you might be invis without a camp set, in which case we're not going to break invis to do anything etc etc etc.

Nothing on xtarget. I am actually just sitting here semi AFK watching it do nothing. BYOS or not. I only put BYOS up once i start fighting cause i want COH up incase i need to save my group. It is buffing, doing other things, but not summoning stuff I no longer have.

What is the trigger for Twincast to be used. The spell. It seems to never use it at all.. .burn or otherwise. I can understand keeping the AA in reserve, but the spell would be a nice combat buff when you have a reason to use it.

1. yup, if it is stopping to memorize something and cast it, it is going to do that. if you got mobs to fight or whatnot it would start fighitng, but otherwise. we don't memorize anything when you have mobs on xtarget, same with all the plugins.
2. dunno, you're simultaneously saying it is memorizing to summon things and saying it is also not memorizing to summon things. not sure. sorry.
3. :( you're not ever being specific with *what* so i have to use broad guesses and broad statements in answer, so i would just say "sounds like you would want something else to do this for you like an mq2react or some hotkey"
4. well you had a post that said you would chain summon it and get locked with saying you had a lore item. we won't cast it if you have a lore group item. notice how i posted to an issue you mentioned previously and you didn't say "nah that was resolved no longer an issue" or "yes still an issue" :( I dunno bud
5. We use twincast all the time. if you have usenuke turned on, and your mana is above your nuke mana minimum. we hit twincast. if your buffs are completely full - we can't cast it, so we dont. if you have the spell blocked for some reason, or some other reason it wouldn't stack we don't cast it. but we use twincast very heavily, and it is one of the first things we look to do after debuff/itemclick/AA weave type stuff.

Great plugin! One thing that I might just be nit picky about is the Gather Potency ability. I have switched this value around, and I just cant seem to get the mages to utilize it based on the value. Normally I have to alt tab to my mages and manually click the ability when I want it, do you think this could be an issue with the Rank 2 of the ability? I tried with another mage I have with rank 1 of the ability and seems that I have the same issue.

it doesn't care about the rank.

make sure if you want to gather capability in combat that you turned on usecombatgather on

other than that, as long as you don't have a corpse near by, you will use it at the value (not in a safe zone)
 
Im clearing trash for totem of the wurines in hunter tank mode and would be awfully nice if it would /pet attack everything or just turn ghold off so pet can kill everything that agros on me. Have usemalo and usemaloaoe off and it still casts for some reason.

no, I'm sorry, we use ghold.

you are probably talking about for the pullability. did you /mag disablepullability off? because in the normal routine, usemalo and usemaloaoe options are absolutely required to use them. we also use your malo for your pull ability as indicated at the plugin startup under "PullAA". so if you didn't "disablepullability" then yes, you would be using malaise as the PullAA the plugin says it uses.
 
Is there any way to adjust a dps interval, to slow the nukes up a little.
And, is there anyway to seperate the use swarm pets? I realize this is probably not possible now. I want to use my aa swarm pets during burns, but I don't want my mage wasting mana on rage of zomm chain casts at low level. Thanks

nah no interval.

you can turn off swarm pet usage by /mag useswarmpet off
 
I was wondering if there were any options to adjust the "pet attack distance" and the "melee distance?" I understand the camp radius logic within the plugin; however, I can't seem to configure the plugin to assist for long range battle (capping out the camp radius at 100). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

only the ui window caps out at 100, you can use the slash commands to 999999999 or whatever value
/mag campradius 200 would make a 200, for example

IF camp radius is like other options with CWTN plugins when updating commands with the / command it changes them to permanent changes that have to be changed with the / commands again in order to not make them permanent.

Figured worth a mention just incase you move zones or situation changes and you wonder why camp is set soo large.
