Release MQ2Grind (1 Viewer) 3.1.52471.11

From what I can tell, SKs and WARs are considered the MTs now, except for raiding, where WARs are the MTs? SKs are preferable for FD? Can I replace the clr box for a merc if I wanted to save a sub or am I losing too much?

Thanks again!

Not really a grind question. However, modern game all tanks are viable, sk's and pal bring more neat tricks to groups then war.

Agreed, I guess the question is more whether or not the SK is viable for Grind at 100 than a WAR. The clr seems superfluous at this point with mercs, I'm tempted to put the SK on that acct.

Thanks for the help, both of ya.

When I first started using Grind A_Moss_Snake helped me out a bunch with this post

His Low Mana script got me through Goblins without having to manually pause Grind every 5 minutes for my under geared cleric. Over time I wanted the script to focus more on the Healer's mana than the whole group - but also wanted to wait for the group to be ready in case the next pull was 8 mobs, so I made some changes.

90% of this is A_Moss_Snake's work and everything in his post applies.

This is my first time writing Lua for MQ and first time writing something for LEM - not sure if I followed "best practices" or if I have any glaring errors issues. I've run this dozens of time and everything seems to be working.

Mana thresholds set in variables at top of script for cleric and for whole group (including cleric) - Low means med, Good means Go.

Script will check mana between encounters and pause if necessary to med. Messages will tell you who it thinks is the cleric when it starts (or default to "group healer") and will tell you if it is pausing for Cleric mana or Group mana - and what threshold it is waiting for to resume. If there is no group and grind is not running - this does nothing.

Not sure if it's useful to anyone but me - but here it is.

TODO: Toons don't seem to consistently sit to med (any advice is welcome)

Just ran across Sics vid demonstrating this plugin, it was a little old. Does this work on non Truebox TLP?

MQ is not supported for truebox, so no. nothing at MQ or RG is supported for truebox

MQ is not supported on Truebox servers. If/When a server transitions into "relaxed truebox" or complete removal of truebox restrictions, MQ support would be added at *sometime* afterwards.

> Here is the link to the sticky <

Other tools such as MySEQ and IonBC are available for truebox servers.

recently a WHOLE bunch-a-bunches of truebox servers had their restrictions removed, and MQ devs (bless them) added support for them

This is why I am asking. I’m on a TLP that has had Truebox removed. However I used a macro to scribe spells and I got a message that it would not work on emuulated servers. So I used a different one. The video you said that grind would not work on emulated so I wanted to ask before I contemplated the $50.

you're saying a few conflicting things.

truebox is not emulated servers. truebox is a dbg designation for a server type.
if you're on a ex-truebox server that had truebox removed then you can check the link i shared above to see if it is supported or not

I would double-check, however, that there is available grinds for the content you have available for you at this time

I didn’t say I was on an emulated server, just that this particular macro gave me that message. So it made me think that it was possible others would recognize or think my server was one as well. But I will look through to see if anything is available for me. Thank you.

Grind currently only supports level 95+ from Eok era.

I am looking at including a level 85 from underfoot but have not published it yet.

Gri d is locked to the same rules that MQ is and only is available for Live and Test.

Hey quick question. If im running grind and have a friend that wants to join in on the fun, can they do so from their computer running KA or will I need to be boxing that character as well.

Currently you have the following options
1) have buddy manually play and chase you
2) have buddy bring their computer to your house and be on the sanmme subnet to utilize dannet

Anything beyond that would include account sharing or a step into a time machine to something in the future which handles the scenario you are facing.

Thx Hytiek, I just decided to box his char, but thats cool to know about using another pc. BTW plugin kicks @ss

With some of the TLPs recently dropping truebox, would you consider trying to add a few older grinds? Mischief/Thornblade are currently on Seeds of Destruction, but even some older content like DoN or LDoN would be nice.

any suggestions for good grind zones in those eras?

preferably:
- lots of mobs
- fairly friendly mesh / navigation
- quest giver is same or next to the zone in person/object

In regards specifically to Mischief, I am looking at adding a level 85 mission from Underfoot (available to Mischief in December).

As Sic mentioned, feel free to provide me a link to such an instance which follows the criteria he outlined.

@hytiek , @Sic I'd probably start with Toskirakk.

Toskirakk: Hiding in Plain Sight: This should be a good one as I think the whole zone is spawned and the NPC is at the zone in from the void. I've only had pathing issues in the tunnels between floors.

Toskirakk: Cruel Overseers: Same as above

Toskirakk: Spies, Lies and Prison Cells: NPC is at the zone in from the void, but it starts you on the second level. It had a few pathing issues up there, but I suspect the lower level is spawned.

Oceangreen has two that might work:

OceanGreen Hills: Stop the Contamination: The quest itself is dull, but the rest of the OceanGreen Village zone appears to be fully populated. I've only had nav issues around the fences in the village.

OceanGreen Hills: A Dread Challenger: Same as above.

Old Bloodfields: Holding the fort: Requires talking to an npc and then handing a different npc an item to spawn the instance. Mobs are extremely dense in two of the rooms. You lose if you don't protect one of the npcs, but it doesn't boot you from the instance.

Edit: Fixed the first Toskirakk item as I'd linked a group quest that wasn't instanced. Thanks for catching @Robban .

probably been asked a bunch times, but does this have any VoA, Cotf, etc zones in it, or is it more purely newer content then those? - thanks.

So looked around a bit and couldn't find an answer. Is the purpose of safe mode is because the pulls become exceedingly difficult past the safe mode point, or ? Just wondering why I shouldn't be taking advantage of an entire instance.

For some reason, I am only seeing a safe mode exit for restless assault mission.

Thanks

If your computer fails to navigate somewhere/stuck somewhere its a nice feature to be able to stop before you reach that poiny, Ive found. Better to get -some- xp than none at all.

heh, makes sense because I have gotten stuck before on one char. Thanks!

I've been doing a lot of Mean Streets during this exp bonus week, and two things to note:

1 - The very first pull is 3 mobs, and there are mostly 2 or 3 mob pulls throughout the task so it's very handy to have CC for this one. My pally is raid geared but still needs to disc that initial pull sometimes until mezzes and slows land.
2 - I have a big dumb ogre shammy, and he gets stuck on the rocks in one part if i dont have him shrunk. Once he's shrunk it's fine, but you don't want your main healer beached on the rocks while the rest of the group is fighting further away.

Overall a great tool that has helped me multitask while chugging away at AA's, but I recommend doing easier missions unless you've got a really strong group.

if my group gets stuck inside an instance and time runs out and it gets booted to the quest-giver zone. what will happen then? will it resume the grind or just wait there?

didn't work for me sadly. toons get booted out of the zone after time is up and are just standing around outside.
You shouldn't be in a zone for six hours running grind. The plugin will take you through predetermined spots in an instance to pull/kill. Once it hits the end of the spots it /taskquits to exit then starts it again.

Are you trying to use it to stay in some places like Shei for six hours and have it cycle the instance?

i am not trying - i just can't kill fast enough to be able to move through. just took another instance (and problem solved, lol)

Let me know if you want me to beta-test the 85. I am about to start grinding some toons from 85 up, and was considering the plugin if it might do that.

I'm pretty sure all of the progression group tasks are instanced and are zoned in by talking to the quest giver. Tiers 6, 7, and 8 all can be done in any order, but tier 9 requires completion of previous ones.

I don't know these zones. Can anyone reliably fill in this table from memory? I can go confirm if we identify a best case scenario of them and servers come back up.

I'd love to have this info for the grindlord Hytiek and have this available for Mischief (and me) before December.

The points I noticed more deaths for my team in Restless Assault was at the very start at point 1 that can come up to 3 (rarely), but specifically point 21 which can gank up to 4-5 mobs at a time. Also what I have noticed is probably if you have a bard in your group giving selo's sonata, is that your team when you stop at the waypoint with sleo they rubber band and the dps or healer goes in front of the tank and body pulls the mobs which can cause death. I usually hit the aoe aggro AA or spell before that happens but sometimes it can happen really fast when a non tank gets ganked by 2-3 mobs.

It does not happen always, but I did encounter a few deaths on my shaman or a dps. Just a minor annoyance.

If times permits, It would be nice to have older content instances available since TLP are relaxing the truebox.
There are instances available in field of scale (SOD) from Jaled Dar, which have a lot of mobs.
It used to be THE place to PL.
The one in kaesora library was very popular.
The name is “The Price of Knowledge".
I don’t remember if there are prerequisite to get the mission.

Best if you don't use Selo's during /grind. Also there's an option to add a delay for the non-tanks which helps avoid the innately faster runners (bst, bard) from arriving first.

For those that are going to be using MQ2Grind to push towards 125, what mission do you think will be best.

I used restless assault to 120, but I don't think that will be much viable xp wise past 121/122

hey i just got this and im an old player that is a new player after 15 years. and i went to the FM goblins instance and got beat down.
is there a way i can use this anywhere? or maybe a lower level instance?
my toons are all heroic 100

Hey there and welcome back.

That instance at 100 should pose no issue for heroic geared toons; what automation are you using?

In regards to "can use this anywhere?" - Sadly my plugin only works where it's been designed to work. That list is found in the output of: /grind list

kissassist is the automation I used but the first couple of hits brought my pally to the ground where he had the armor that was given to him by game.
I had a full group. Pally, sk, war, cleric, sham, bard, all lvl 100 - 103
