MQ2Cleric

When I've got use nuke selected, my cleric doesn't mem a nuke. No big deal, since he just replaces a cleric merc. Just seems odd that he doesn't mem anything.

Apologies if this has been asked before. Sometimes when Im running mq2Grind, my cleric or shammy will show up before the tank gets there and take aggro. Is there a way with the plugins to get it to use defensive AAs (Sanctuary, DA, etc) for instances like this until the tank picks up aggro?

Thanks

Loen

No

Is there anything you'd recommend to handle instances like this? Maybe generating a LEM or something? Do you think something like that would be a good idea/work?

This is more a grind question. But do you have bard speed on? That and cheetah can cause that problem.

I would strongly recommend disabling such speed buffs from respective toons. This is a sure way to have a bad time. ;)

Apologies for posting in the wrong spot if thats what it was, but while I gave the example of using grind, I was thinking of it from a multi-aggro perspective. IE: Tank is out pulling while camping (rarely camp on spawns, but does happen), but group gets aggro. Until tank comes back, cleric will heal himself, but if its too much DPS, I didnt know if there was a way to enable defensive AAs automagically. I appreciate the responses though!

It is 99% the problem, the other 1% is your lack of ability to live while getting beaten silly for proximity aggro due to overrunning where you should be.
No doubt he's under geared for tanking, thats why I was curious if there was anything built in to handle it. Totally get it that its not something in there, and doubted it will be, but didnt hurt to ask. Again, I appreciate all of your responses and help!

we use sanctuary as a "omg im gonna die" ability but if you're dying in 1 round or 2 hits or something, that isn't going to help you.

The correct way for this to work is you overshoot your target location, and your CC locks it down if it's not the MA's target. If it is the MA's target, then the MA will likely be in the progress of overshooting their target location and returning to grab the aggro. You can as they say just turn off the speed buff, /dismount, or whatever is the initial cause of overshooting the target location, but if it's not an option, then I recommend making your cleric learn to take a hit. Moar gear, Passive defensive AAs, increase chase distance, manually control them etc are all options as well. But that's more handling the effects of the problem then fixing the original problem, which apparently is likely selos.

One other suggestion to add to the list above. You may want to specify which area you are running into this situation. I recall there being a few points in some grinds where depending on setup the healer would lag behind the group and then the nav point was behind the group so the healer would reach it before the group which was doubling back. If that's the case, there are probably some other suggestions to help (usemelee for example).

As mentioned, it's not a cleric issue, but I ran into a similar problem. Bards will outrun everything else without selos and will get there first. There's a delay on your /grind menu that lets the group give the tank a head start. Will fix the problem most of the time.

I use CWTN plugins for War/Bst/Nec/Rog/Clr and use a merc caster for my 6th. Every time my caster merc dies, the cleric will not heal tank and I have to tab to it and manually heal or tank dies. If I pull another mob the cleric wont heal again and this goes on until I revive the merc. Clr/Bst/Nec are all on assist mode with tank in Tank mode, I play Rogue in manual.
Nothing comes up in the MQ windows he just stops casting. I play on a live server.

I have looked for an answer and am unable to find one.

Thank you in advance.

That's odd. There's nothing obvious that should/would influence anything like that. We don't really "not do anything".

I'll see if I can replicate

tried having a look thru the forums for an answer to this, How do i get my Cleric running MQCleric to use CAMPFIRE? She will drop the campfire but on death and going to bind point , wont port back to fire. havent noticed if others do or not, because cleric usually dies first after tank lol. TIA.

By design they will only create the campfire, they won't automatically port back. You should be able to manually click back when you feel it is safe to do so.

Correct, we don't click back. There are macros, luas/lems available for that - but we're not going to click back

This is a really good plugin. It was built not to waste mana but it keeps you healed. If someone dies they get rezzed. It like have a person playing Cleric in my opinion.

Hi.

Definitely check the sticky and the guides. Skipping that stuff you're going to hamstring yourself in a big way.

You'll want to be in a camp mode if you want to sit.

Or in vorpal or chase we'll match the sit/stand state of the MA.

Please see >>> Getting Started with CWTN plugins! (Movement, UI Window, Clickies, Pulling, ETC) Check Here First! <<<

Thanks for the links. Sorry if i might look dumb but i didnt find something with "camp mode". So far if i put enc/cleric on assist, they will /sit but only ooc and obviously sometimes they get oom during the combat.
My MA is using kissassist and cleric/enc are using the MQ2 plugin.
Is there a possibility they can sit during the fight to not be oom ?

No, we don't sit during the fight if we stood up.

Get a mount if you want to do that :p

What if i'm indoor ? like TOFS where mounts arent usable ?
Maybe i'm totally wrong so i'll try to say it differently : during a fight, the enc/cleric will stay stood and never sit until the fight is over ? this is how it works ? Just trying to understand the mechanics
Another thing probably only related to the MQ2WAR plugin, i saw we have to "set a camp" (These circles will get "set" on your map when you set your camp and they will stay in place when you run (as you can see by second image)
How to set a camp ?
Thanks for you help Sic.

Yup. I use both plugins and I would not want my chanter or cleric sitting during a fight or someone's likely to die. Have to find another way to get mana for each class while indoors I'm afraid. Rest, rods, etc.

The link to the mq2war plugin you posted has a great video Sic took the time to create/post which goes over all the modes, including camp. I know I found it a bit confusing at first so I would recommend taking your crew to a lower level zone to avoid deaths/unwanted adds and get acquainted with it there while referencing the video. But modes 4,5 and 7 set a camp depending on what play style you're looking for.

yes. how i said it works is how it works :p we do not sit down during combat, and only stand when we go to do something. yes. that is correct.

did you check the sticky i directed you to?

if not, as i mentioned, skipping all that is going to hurt yourself. there is a lot of information, but it is laid out with videos and guides and hotkeys and such.

skipping that is self inflicted damage.

to answer your question directly, which doesn't actually help you because you skipped the other stuff (like how to not return back to that same camp when you no longer want to)
clr to go into assist mode would be /clr mode 1

Thanks a lot for the explanation, that's clearer.
I'll take all the time to look at the link you sent me.
And you have done an amazing job.
