I noticed today that my Enchanter is casting strangulate Rk. II like a nuke, i.e. just about every time it is ready. It is one of the best dots but nuking with it is a mana drain from hell even though it does have a nice hit on cast 26K+ . The other 2 dots I'm using work fine as in they time out before they are recast; Deluding Constriction and Mind tempest.

Is there a setting that would stop this behavior and be used as a DOT or do you need to work your vodoo on this spell, as in add an option for stragulate line nuke/dot useage ?
 
Strangulate has a large DD component to it. When you weave... You weave it in there more for the DD than the DoT part for max DPS. I like that it casts it often... I wish it wouldn't try to use 3rd Spire with IoG and other burns.....
 
Added Dissident Companion to magician, and Dissident Blessing to cleric. Korascian Bolt was already one of the mage spells.

I tested again just now. Korascian bolt is casted. Dissident companion and blessing are not casted. Dissident companion prevents dichotomic companion from being casted if both are momorized, dissident blessing not undying life
 
Was a RG patch/update released for the changes I committed to the source? If not, you won't see the changes yet. Worst case, I will build it and test it. My mage is only 106 or so...
 
yes,i updated the latest patch. Dissident blessing is working now, but companion is not. And i tried wiz today, dissident fire is not casted either...
 
Okay, thanks. I will do some testing and get back to you. I thought I had all the dicho upgrades in there. It may take a bit of time, since my mage isn't 110 yet.

So ? The question was how to stop this because it uses to much mana and drains the enchanter long before the rest of the crew which means I just don't mem the spell currantly which drops his dps a lot

I don't have too much mana issues. If you use your own AA gather, 2nd spire, rods, robe, and horn.. You'll be amazed at how long your mana actually lasts.
 
What I meant by that is I could make it a toggle to not use strangulate line like a regular DD spell. So, if you're having mana issues you can toggle it off... Default would be to continue to use it as a DD.
 
I've been getting crashes periodically on afnuke over the last few days. I can send the crash dump file, if you'd like, jim.
 
Are there any specific conditions that trigger it? If so, I'll try to reproduce the issues.

Honestly, I have it going in the background most times, so I'm not sure.

One thing that I know is happening, though, is anytime I zone (/pick, evac, etc.) MQ2AFNuke bugs and I have to unload the plugin and reload it for it to continue operating.

Would sending you the dump make a difference?
 
That's very strange... Sometimes patches break MQ2AFNUKE... It relies on quite a bit of the core mq2 code, structs, and pointers. I'll see if I can replicate the issue, otherwise, you could send the crash dump.

Hey bud, is there any logic in mq2afnuke that would cause the plugin to not cast, even if mq2cast is loaded, the plugin is on, and it's not paused?

It was working great up until like 12 hours ago, but now I can't get the damn thing to even follow the target the MA has, much less nuke. It's super odd.

weird thought - is the tank set as ma/tank?
 
Even w/o a MA set, it should cast... Top on XTarget to bottom... As long as it's not paused.

I went into the character .ini to see if anything weird was going on in there. I had never done that before, so it's not likely I messed with a setting. This is what I had:

Now that I think about it, I DID change PauseOnZone from =1 to =0. I wonder if that's fucking it up.
 
Worst case, you can close all the clients, delete all the settings, and log back in, and load the plugin. See if that fixes the issues.

I tried that, too. I even deleted mq2afnuke and redownloaded it by patching a different folder for a whole new redguides download and moving the plugin over to my main redguides folder (which, by the way, hosed up a bunch of my broader settings, but I digress...).

I'm still having the same issues. There must be some dependency that's not playing well. I just don't know what the heck it could be. MQ2Posse isn't involved. MQ2Cast is loaded.

The oddest part is it was working great up until yesterday afternoon. I used it yesterday morning to do some FF.
 
Is the Combat Dummy enabled? If so, that's your problem...

Edit: I see "Dummy=1" in the ini... Try /nuke dummy off

Edit 2: Basically, the /nuke dummy on bypasses some target checking logic and is restricted to targets with "Combat Dummy" in the name. Maybe I should make that reset on zone....

Thanks man, I’ll give that a try, although I’m wondering how that would have been enabled since I’ve never attempted to cast on the dummy.

I really think it broke when I changed PauseOnZone from =1 to =0. I didn't touch anything else. But honestly, I haven't gone back to troubleshoot it because last time I did that I went to the nuclear option, tried to get fancy and update redguides to a different file location, and now all my client settings are currently fucked.
 
Are there any TLOs associated with this plugin?

as in, if the plugin on/off

I want to try this out with some gimpy toons and want to turn the plugin on/off based on target and aggro, incase the gimp tank isn't doing his job =)
