Just some basic Mesh' files for all Pop zones. Adjusted some minor details as I created them. Radius/cell/tile size in relation to the size of the zone and fetures that should be avoided.

Since brainiac is still working on MQ2 nav a lot a future update may come out that makes all navmeshes obsolete. Much like how all older navmeshes were made obsolete recently.

What I am saying is I wouldn't advise making meshes years in advance, it may be a waste of your time right now =P

either way kudos for the current meshes saves me some time

Afaik, brainiac only mentioned that, prior to the latest release. It didnt sound like he was going to do another full overhaul as this engine works really well. 6 months ago this wouldnt have been worthwhile.

This is only years in advance on one or yep progression servers. For the rest of us this is useful stuff. Recommend keeping the meshes coming!

Would non progression server people even use the meshes? I cant think of a use they'd have for them since all of these zones are kinda pointless to go to on live. Maybe for running through PoK/PoT to reach a zone or something they'd use them for *shrug*

Would be beast if we never have to remake our meshes like before. Configuring each mesh has been taxing, some zones mesh "below" the zone so you have to raise the cell heights, some zones have weird stairs where you have to increase the cell size so you don't fall right off. It's been an adventure learning MQ2 Nav but oh so worth it.

Let's keep our fingers crossed =P

These meshes work on all live servers, not just progression. I have adjust settings for general pathing for what I can see in the first few passes, i.e. making sure you can get across bridges ect. as not try to run over pillars and such. I didnt scour these for perfection or create non walking areas. I will be working my way through the expansions now that I see people want these made for them.

I started with Pop because it was the next expac for my server but people still go to those places. You seem to be stuck on that these always need to get remade. They dont. Mq2nav Mesh generator has only had 1 major overhaul that required you to toss your old mesh's. Unless you are seeing some major failure in mesh generation I highly doubt brainiac is coming out with a new one anytime soon, this is just based on reading his posts in his thread. RG paid for this with donations from the community. Red matched whatever was raised to keep him going and get this functional soon than later, now that it is, it will most likely be just fine tuning of the plugin.

It isnt too taxing imo, once you get the hang of what radius/cell/tile combos work for tighter vs larger pathways it has been working well in the ones I tested.

These would need to be remade with each major rehaul to Mq2Nav or to the zone/game. Part of the reason I constantly think meshes need to be remade is because in other games - they do. Guild Wars 2, Gw2Minion you had to remesh most zones after every major patch (sometimes the zones placement would be off in the world. Like they'd move the zone a few "blocks" over and the whole mesh would be off center). Swtor Buddywing -all- meshes got fucked up after each X-pac. That game was so poorly coded though, Daybreak would win a Nobel Prize in comparison to that game.

Archeage and Archebuddy was similar, major patch 2.0 and major patch 3.0 both moved the whole game world and every nav mesh became off center. It took the creator of the bot months to fix each time.

EQ may always be different (hopefully), it may forever be different I am honestly not sure!


I'm not trying to sound like a negative nancy or put you out on your idea. I think what you're doing is great, in fact - I have done similar before for a bot. Then all my work was made obsolete because of a major patch that forced, as you guessed it, me to remesh everything. My point was hopefully the same doesn't happen here =P

Zones / coords in EQ dont change unless they revamp it. The games you're mentioning use things like the Unreal engine, very different and more dynamic than EQ's. Unless Brainiac changes the generator we should be good for a long time.

How do you fix zones where they mesh below? It seems I have run into a lot of old world zones where that happens.

Brainiac suggested he's going to put in functionality to mass generate meshes if so I am so looking forward to them.

I hope you found how to do this. But in case anyone else is wondering, you will adjust the "Min Y" parameter. Bring it up and then click 'Build Mesh' again.

The way I do it, I just eyeball it a bit (maybe bring it up 10% or so) and click 'Build Mesh' again. If it still builds off of the surface down below just repeat it until you get one built correctly.

It took a bit of playing with it to figure it out. I hope this helps someone out.

Any one have a Riftseekers sanctum mesh that works in non picks? please i cant get one to build that works in the main zone for the life of me.
