With the May patch, players will be able to lower their level on select servers. This feature will initially be available only on Vaniki and Frostreaver. These servers will help us not only test the feature on a larger scale, but also gauge overall player interest.
We have also temporarily activated this feature on the Priests of Discord in the Guild Lobby on the Test server today.
To lower your level, seek out a Priest of Discord and speak with them.
Please note the following:
• You may only lower your level to specific levels offered through the dialogue options. These levels are based on expansion level caps minus ten levels.
• If you have already lowered your level, you must return to your original level before lowering it again.
• You cannot lower your level to your current level or to a level higher than your current level.
• When your level is lowered, you will begin at approximately 25% experience into that level.
You may also return to your former level at any time by speaking with a Priest of Discord. When doing so, any corpses currently associated with your character will be removed, including corpses created before lowering your level.
While your level is lowered, you will gain and lose experience normally. If you choose to return to your former level through the Priest of Discord, any experience gained or lost while lowered will be removed, and your character will be restored to the exact level and experience you had before lowering your level. After returning to your original state, you may lower your level again if you wish.
If you naturally gain enough experience while lowered to reach or exceed your former level and experience, your lowered-level state will automatically end. In this case, your corpses will not be removed, and you may lower your level again if you wish.
