howdy freeferli - this is a current "issue" where the launcher can't delete/edit old files > here <
sorry for the troubles

you can go into your macroquest2.ini and change MQ2Grind=1 to MQ2Grind=0

or you can delete mq2grind.dll

@morisato says that discs are no longer firing, and /disc doesn't work. Anyone else experiencing this?

works fine for me as well doing discs.. but my combat actions arent working.. i have a macro with /doability 7 and /doability 8 which are set to taunt and disarm (when doing manually, not using melee or any macs etc) and i'm getting a message in my mq2 window saying "You do not seem to have that ability available. You do not have this skill (Backstab) .. which is weird, cuz backstab isnt even an option for a SK..

what if you try it manually with no macs or mq2melee plugin loaded? will it fire off just doing that way?

@Redbot anything else i can do to test this? logging on? i'm not entirely sure because im not actually doing anything related to a specific plugin or macro, this is just general EQ command stuff AFAIK..

like, i do /disc claret blade or /disc spurn they are working, i see the combat ability activate.. also if i click on my combat actions (taunt, bash disarm etc..) but if i /doability 7 8 9 any of them in fact, it doesnt work.. but if i assign anything to the Actions window (doability 1-6) they work, non-combat OR combat.. except hide.. it works if i manually click, but not if i /doability 6 (with 6 being hide)

its almost like the abilities in the combat page arent mapped right.. its very strange, as it used to work fine for me.. but i dont know if this is an EQ issue or a MQ issue to be honest.. like when i do a /doability 7 8 9 10 any one of them, i get the message in my MQ window only, not in any chat windows.. "you do not seem to have that ability available" ... if it works though, i see the message in my regular chat window..

That's a huge help, I'll try to replicate that this evening

edit: replicated and confirmed, /doability 6 with "hide" as the ability does not work until MQ2 is unloaded.

Ok, I talked to eqmule and he doesn't believe there's an error. Here's his quote on the issue,

Doability takes real ids the id of hide is 29 not 6 therefor /doability 29 will activate hide as will /doability hide /doability 6 will activate abolish poison because thats the id for that. It has been like this for a few years i guess someone just discovered it now and missed changes.txt back then.

to further clarify,

I can say for sure that /doability works 100% like it did pre patch.

What else could it be?

hmm thats interesting.. i always thought that your /doability # was mapped to the button you assigned in the actions window.. at least it worked like that before.. but recently yeah seems real odd.. but at least when i do /doability taunt or /doability disarm with these being in that combat page , that in fact DOES work, as opposed to doing /doability #

I think i'm going to try a few more things to see what other limitations there are...

You have to have something else going on, just tried it on halfling druid hide/sneak, works. Tried rogue hide./sneak works

If you already changed your plugins to use STMLText.Ptr instead of just STMLText you can change it back.

@Redbot The display of the text buffer doesn't always adjust to the "MQ" window geometry. For example, if I want to see more lines, I'll drag the bottom edge of the window, but it will still only show you the top 5 lines, or sometimes nothing will be displayed at all. No amount of adjusting width or height fixes the problem.

How to reproduce: Expand the window beyond the number of lines of text. This sets the maximum displayed number of lines. If you expand the window when nothing is showing, then it will not show anything once window is expanded. If 10 lines, and you expand past that then it is locked in at 10.
To get around the problem, do an /rg help twice, so a ton of text is dumped into the buffer before you expand the window.

I noticed the /notify is throwing some errors when trying to use /nomodkey /notify FellowshipWnd FP_Subwindows tabselect 2 Throwing Window FellowshipWnd child FP_Subwindows cannot accept this notification. I have been trying to use variations of what member/child to do the action on, but no luck so far. Any ideas?

Also noticed that the duration for the Spell TLO is not returning the correct value. When I rightclick on the Spell in the spell Gem the spell: information window has the correct information but when I use ${Spell[Halcyon Billow].Duration} it returns 4 but the Spell Info window shows 24 and 24 is correct.

I noticed it because my supporting healers are going OOM and they never use too. HOT's that use to report a duration of 1:24 now only report a Duration of 0:24
 
Looking into the spell itself, AA's effect the duration of the spell. .Duration will show the default duration. .MyDuration will show the extended duration.

For example

This is the unmodified value, which is 4 ticks or 24 seconds
${Spell[Halcyon Billow].Duration} == 4

Now my shaman isn't max AA, but MyDuration is 13 ticks or 78 seconds, or 1m 18s
${Spell[Halcyon Billow].MyDuration} == 13

Halcyon Billow is 24 ticks regardless of anything, so for the Duration to return 4 then something is F'd up. The Duration should return 24 not 4. And it has nothing to do with Spell Casting Reinforcement. The default Duration for the spell is 24. If I echo Duration and MyDuration I get 4 and 14. They are both wrong. Duration should be 24, MyDuration should be 24*100% since I have maxed Spell Casting Reinforcement.
 
So even with a screenshot that shows default duration of 0:24 without mq2itemdisplay loaded, and with the lucy data showing default duration of 0:24, and MQ2 telling you it's 0:24 default duration, a screenshot for the wiki saying duration returns ticks, and a tick being 6 seconds, which means 24 is 4, since 4*6 is 24... you're still saying that it's 24 ticks (2 minutes and 24 seconds) and not 4 ticks for a default duration?

Now explain to me how 4*6 comes even close to that?

the default for the spell is 6 seconds for 24 ticks.
 
I don't think you're imagining it. I just think it's possible you're misunderstanding something, or I'm not understanding what you are saying.

1m 23s is not 24 ticks. 6x24 = 144 seconds. 144/60 2 r24, So 24 ticks is 2 minutes 24 seconds.

What you're showing is 1 minute 23 seconds. 83 seconds (probably missing 1 seconds from when you casted, making it 84 seconds). 84/6 is 14

So...14 ticks
 
re: the fellowship thing - i've tried it on 4 different computers and installs of mq2, brings up the window correctly each time, so without being able to re-create it no way to guess how its broken

using your exact example /nomodkey /notify FellowshipWnd FP_Subwindows tabselect 2
 
Is there any way to make the mq window behave? Sometimes the text window will be in one place, then the window bar will move over and widen, or narrow, or something, but the text portion stay. Another highly annoying thing, is that it often stops displaying text except for the top 5 lines, then poof it disappears. I'm getting super annoyed because i asked about this a few days ago and nothing was said.
 
yeah this is a known issue with the recent updates the mq devs are working on it

folks have posted about in other location > here <

until it is fixed if you minimize and then resize the window it'll go back to normal

@AmericanNero sorry you're having frustrations - there were some lofty updates on dbg side last patch and there's been a couple of lingering hiccups because of it - the mq2 devs are working on the known issues - hopefully that gets fixed up soon and we'll be back in tip top shape.

I'm trying to run Fragmentfarm.mac to farm Alaran tablets. On one of my toons, it doesn't work because MQ2 appears to think she has the quest, even when she doesn't.

I make sure that I do not have the quest and use /echo ${Task[Fear Begins at Home].ID} and a variety of related task variables. Nothing is coming back null, when it should be.

This only happens on one of three characters I can run it on. The issue has been going on for a few months, but I've only just now had time to sit and look at it.

sounds like an eq issue - have you tried relogging those toons?

If i launch MQ2 i get an error saying "MQ2 expected eqgame date and time to be: jan 14 2021 1708 but EQ games date and time is feb 11 2021 do you need to patch one of them? loading of MQ2 can not be completed." ive patched everquest but not sure whats going on , can anyone help?

it is a patch day.

mq2 has to be patched and then VV can get rebuilt.

If I turn off everything then I can play the game. If i use mq2/VV or what ever it is you want to call it.... to load the games the moment I go to move in the game every single one crashes. I have a pile of DMP files if one of you mods or creators want to have a look PM me and Ill send them to you.

there are several bugs atm in the pre-release of mq2

if you're crashing on the cwtn plugins i posted > HERE <
