Hail, Norrathians! Since the April Producer’s Letter, we’ve had some excitement with Frostreaver’s launch. This new Time-Locked Progression Server launched with the rules voted on by the player base. To learn about everything available on it and when things unlock, head over to the website and read all about it. Also, yearly server events and bonuses, wallpaper, and posters of various past expansions have been released! And, a reminder; the Terror of Luclin expansion items are in the Marketplace until July 15th but only until 11:59 p.m. PT.

Our spring 2026 game updates introduced a server merge of Rizlona into Aradune, the completely overhauled Guild Hall Decorative Dummies, and permanently unlocked the Laurion's Song expansion free for all on Test and Live servers. Significant class balancing occurred as we standardized most Progressive abilities across hybrid, melee, caster, and priest archetypes, making Rank 1 of a newer ability equal to Rank 6 of the previous tier to prevent classes from falling behind. Mercenaries received extensive tuning, resulting in a low-level health reduction and high-level performance boost for tank variants, alongside enhanced damage capabilities for DPS versions. In raid environments, the out-of-combat timer triggered by raid NPCs was cut in half from five minutes to two and a half minutes. Progression server quality-of-life improved with the new level-lowering system via the Priest of Discord on Vaniki and Frostreaver. Finally, we fixed numerous engine stability flaws, including critical DirectX 11 memory corruption bugs causing client crashes, and implementing a fix to stop items and spells from entering a faulty cooldown status if a cast failed while a player was mounted.

On to the new things! The Krono Promotion started today and will run for the entire month of July. Anyone who purchases Krono from the Official EverQuest website this month will get a player illusion, Guise of the Kronowick, for every Krono purchased. Don't miss out on this cute little critter!

Guise of the Kronowick

In a few weeks, our Extra Life incentives will be posted, and fundraising will ramp up. If you’re new to our Extra Life fundraising, I recommend reading the guide before joining the team. Questions should be directed to Angeliana either on the forums or in the Official Discord. Here's a sneak peek of one of the incentives. Awwww... good puppy!

Coming up, we're updating Hero's Journey Achievements to make several quests more group-friendly. Some tasks previously took longer to complete in a group than they did solo because each player needed to loot or collect items individually. With these updates, additional items will drop based on group size, allowing groups to complete objectives more quickly and bringing group progress closer to parity with solo play.

I'm proud to announce that our second Time-Locked Expansion server of 2026, Lethar, will be opening on August 26th at 12:00 p.m. PT! This server will have Personal Loot on it and will open with all the expansions leading up to and including The Serpent’s Spine. The goal of the new Personal Loot system is to encourage playing cooperatively with others by distributing loot directly to players. Instead of worrying about who gets the rare item that the NPC had, players can now focus on which monster to slay next and having fun while doing so.

Fun fact: this year marks the twentieth anniversary of the launch of EverQuest's twelfth expansion, The Serpent's Spine. Will you be on Lethar celebrating with us?

A bit more about the Personal Loot system. It will give bonus loot directly to players who are in a group or raid and who earn credit for killing an NPC. Solo players will not receive additional loot. Personal Loot will be given in addition to the loot that the NPC would normally give and will be accessed via the Advanced Loot window. More information on this server will be released next week, so be on the lookout for the article.

Finally, a little teaser about this year’s expansion. Strange things are happening in the demiplanes. Fortune's wheel is spinning wildly, lifting the unlucky and casting down the fortunate. Is something meddling with fate?

You’d be Mad to miss the next expansion,

Jenn Chan
Head of Studio

Personal Loot

The Personal Loot system's goal is to encourage playing cooperatively with others by distributing loot directly to players. Instead of worrying about who gets the rare item that the NPC had, players can now focus on which monster to slay next and have fun while doing so.

The Personal Loot system gives loot directly to players who are in a group or raid and earn credit for killing an NPC. Solo players do not receive additional loot. Personal Loot is given in addition to the loot that the NPC would normally give and is accessed via the Advanced Loot window. Any unwanted Personal Loot that is left on the corpse is deleted rather than being accessible to others.

The amount of Personal Loot earned while in a raid is the same regardless of how many players are in the raid. In a group, the amount of loot varies depending on how many players are in the group. Small groups earn less than medium groups, which earn less than full groups. The items given to each player are not always the same, nor do they always match the NPC's normal loot.

Additionally, all equippable or useable items are given the Attunable flag, making them attuned the first time the item is equipped or used, and all class/race/deity requirements on items are removed.

Legacy Characters

Legacy Characters allow your other characters on the same account on the server to receive a semi-permanent experience bonus.

When players reach max level (for the current era) with a character, their account receives an experience bonus for all characters on that server.
e.g., When a player has 1 max level character, their account receives a 10% bonus EXP buff.
When a player has 2 max-level characters, the buff stacks. They now get 20% bonus EXP.
This bonus caps at a 100% bonus.
When the server's level cap increases, players will lose the buff until they get one of their characters to max level again, and the bonus starts again at 10%.
Missions/Raids/Tasks with account-wide lockouts instead apply their lockout to only the character that is completing them, though this lockout does still apply to all personas on that character.

Other

Q: What are Agents of Change?
A: Agents of Change make open world contested raid content accessible to any force capable of tackling it, instancing the event and applying account-wide lockouts for successfully completing the content.

Q: What are Pick Zones?
A: Once a zone reaches a specific threshold of players, it will spawn another instance of itself. The number of players needed to trigger a new load-balanced zone is relative to the amount of combatable population in that zone. Once zoned in, you will be able to use the /pickzone command to choose another version if there are other available instances. The goal of this is to let people group up with friends while reducing crowding, so players can try to find NPCs to kill and loot to obtain.

Q: Will this server have Truebox?
A: No, clients per computer will be unrestricted.

Q: Will this server have Open PvP?
A: No.

Q: How fast will Experience Gain be on this server?
A: Normal Live EXP

Q: Will this server have Disabled Item Level Requirements?
A: Yes.
