Get Drunkard's Stein on all chars and all accounts

Release Get Drunkard's Stein on all chars and all accounts 2019-12-18

No permission to download
Thanks Eqmule for the tip.

So for future reference (or anyone having trouble running this macro), here is what I had to do to get all my characters the Stein. I had EQBCS installed as a service on my PC. It starts up whenever I start my PC. I did this for the sake of convenience, one less thing to worry about. I followed the guide in this link to accomplish this, if anyone wants it.

Eqbc Idiot's Guide

So, if you read this whole thread, you will see where Blueadept was having trouble with the macro running and posted his fix for it. Use the link to download a different version (Eqmule's version) of EQBCS. And if you are like me and have yours already installed as a service, here are some steps to get things working right:

1. Go to the Start button and type in "services" in the search box.
2. In the Services window scroll down to find "MQ2 EQ Box Chat Services" listed there.
3. Right click on it and select Properties.
4. In the middle of the "General" tab you will see a drop down for "Startup type", select "disabled" and click "Apply" and then "OK".
5. Now right click on "MQ2 EQ Box Chat Services" again and select "Stop" from the menu. Note that the rest of the line will read "Stopped" and "Disabled".
6. Now go to where you downloaded Eqmule's version and unzip it. And copy this file to your "Release" folder of MQ2. Then start that file by double clicking on it. There is a screen shot above here to show what it looks like, but mine was blank until I started using the macro DrunkA.
7. After you have all your characters done. Just close the EQBCS window and reverse what you did in Services. EQBCS should restart when you set it for "Automatic" but I re started it right there anyways cause I'm anal that way lol.

As in anything you do for the first time it is a little confusing until you actually go through it. And I want to thank EQmule for setting this macro up. While I was going through all my characters I was thinking to myself how much hassle and how long it would take me to do all this manually. Sheesh the macro took a pretty long time as it was, manually though? Hours and hours.

I have gotten the stein on 12 characters this year but have one toon that will not sing with the bard. I get the quest in POK and run /mac drunkamove he runs to Aby Sea then just stands there. Will do the dance emote when the bard is signing but nothing else. Any thought?

Put him in a group with one of your others who already have the stein and do it . You could do it the old fashioned way also. PS I didn't think it was up already but you got it this year on all 12 already?

The Anniversary Quests have been on test for a few weeks now. Have run a few people solo will try grouping to see if there are any differences.

If I just want to do the quest for a single player is there a simpler version of this mac? I saw Rooster posted something like that earlier in the thread but wasn't sure if that is still valid.

If the quest text has remained the same (I see no reason it changed) , the section of eqmules macro I posted previously you just run on the toon you want the stein on in front of the npc and wait for it to get it (assuming you have gotten the quest already in PoK

EQBCS2 will also work for this. Though I've had a few issues with toons echoing NULL for target name, and having to have it unpause the macro on driver toon again to get it through, but it's worked fine.

Just saying this as a counterpoint. I generally use mules eqbcs, but #2 also works as far as I can tell with the 14 toons I've used it with today.

I used that extract yesterday. Works fine.

Hmm, so I'm using mule's version of EQBCS-eqmule.exe (it says 1.3 as the verison). It logs the first character in, they are connected and their name is broadcast in the mq2eqbcs window. The driver, however, continues to print "waiting for him to join eqbcs",. If I restart the macro on driver, there is some chit-chat between them over eqbcs, then the first toon is logged off. The next toon then suffers the same problem; it doesn't recognise they have connected.

Any ideas what might be wrong? some config?

As a work around, do /bccmd quit then /bccmd connect on the character that just logged on. It is happening to me on some as well, but this seems to kick him in gear.

I had the same issue last night on a handful of the char's I ran though. as TAR said, I just did a /bccmd reconnect on the offending toon (the runee, not the driver) and it worked fine after that.

I just tried this but I may have made a mistake. I did this when my whole group was in game, grouped and they all had the task. When I took my driver to the bard and ran the macro, it was saying soand so character needs the stein let's log him in. Then it would say soandso is already logged in let's add him to the task. Then it logged the characters out one by one after doing the same thing for all 5. I removed them from the shared task and ran the macro again. It says all checked on firiona. I logged them all back in, not in the task and ran it again. Same thing, all Friona v checked.

Got it figured out. Just changed the 1s to 0s for the toons in that config file. Awesome macro!

I changed to using eqbcs2.exe (no eqmule version) and also ensured that I turned off the separate eqbcs window. At which point it started to work.

Hey mule! Awesome macro thank you!

In my experience though, my toons were invis'd and the macro then doesn't work on the "driven" characters. I uninvis'd everyone and it worked perfectly. I feel that there's a check for invis/not invis which should be included.

it keeps telling me that all my characters are -21 and tells them to quit. Odd because all my guys are 110+ Any ideas?

This does not appear to work, as it does not detect when my characters are loaded in eqbc.
[MQ2] still waiting for him to join eqbc
Any idea why this is? I am obviously running the server on the localhost IP, it logs the character in and I can even see him join the eqbc server.
I am using the VV version of EQBC, included in the package, which appears (as per the top post) to be the one that is required.
EDIT: /bccmd reconnect worked. But I need to run this for EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER EVERY TIME.
EQBC is apparently not recognizing characters for this macro, which means it's no longer automated.

However, my driver is 92, I first logged in an 80. It said he was too low (same as above, character is below level 21) and /quit him out, and proceeded to the next character. /frustrated
As the macro is not properly detecting character levels, and throwing everyone as under-21, the macro is straight broken using the required items.

As suggested above, I am trying out EQBCS2.exe (as opposed to the EQBCS.exe stated as required). This still had me use the /bccmd reconnect command, but it at least went past the level check problem.

First character ran through after having to /bccmd reconnect upon logging in. Everything else went fine, up until they got the stein. They get removed from the task, and then....? They're still standing there, no other characters are being logged in.
Oh, I see, the macro paused. Might be nice if it were still running, awaiting the "I got my stein" message and then moved on. Again, more manual work, so this is not an automated macro.

Still nice, makes it a bit easier, less having to pay attention to text and hotkeying the answers.
Would also be nice if it could run multiple characters at once, and not one-at-a-time.
Also, since we already who a /who on the character, if they are already in PoK, why bother pausing the macro? Maybe only pause if they are not in PoK? Or if they are in the guild lobby already (since we need to run there anyhow) or any of the other zones involved.
Why are we dealing with PoK anyway? We should just start all characters in the Guild Lobby. Just a thought...

I apologize for being so critical.

No, i ran a toon through it manually today with drunkamove on a toon that was too high above my driver, and it worked fine for me.

A bit of an issue. I have both dranks.mac and drunkamove.mac in the correct folder. I have the navmeshes needeed. Driver parked at Galdorin with the quest. When i start the drunka.mac it tries to log in a character and nothing happens (no big deal I can get the character in). Once the character is in though, The checks to find the stein says the character has it when they dont. This logs it in the ini and then logs the character off. Not sure what to do about that.

Also, Do i need to do the rest of the quest up to abysmal see? Or can everything be skipped to this point?

It's already started on the test server. I ended up just sharing the task with all of my characters and running the drunkamove.mac. Worked great

Does anyone have a work around for the -21 level error message? Says it for every single one of my characters ive tried this on!

Blankstare posted to use the /bccmd reconnect worked. But I need to run this for EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER EVERY TIME.

Yep I tried that, which fixed the waiting to connect error, but for some reason every one of my characters gets marked as under level 21 and logged off (none are /role or /anon). I got all the steins now though using the mimic function, didn't take too long aside from running them all there :D

There is also good old fashioned manual run thru. Sacrilege I know 🤣

I personally just manually get the quest on the toon i want - and then /mac drunkamove so it does the run and stein portion, but doesn't do the logging other toons on

how do i "starrt the macro"? /plugin drunka start? i cant figure it out
no

all macros are started with /mac name where "name" is the name of the macro you are trying to start.

so like i said above /mac drunkamove if you just wanted the second portion

or /mac drunka to start the entire macro

Same here. Can just get the quest one a level 85 and /taskadd chars within 30 levels of him and run /mac drunkamove on them.

Once you have all your 55-115 chars then you can move the leader of the shared task to a level 55 char, remove the 85 and then do all your chars from 25 to 55 and then repeat that process with a level 25 as shared task leader to get any 21-24 you want done/

So the first few days I was getting this done on chars pretty fast but the last 3 days he has not been singing the song but maybe 1-2 times per day. Does he only sing if someone on the server is at that point in the quest?

I tried drinking a Braise Brew and flicking the bottle at him like what was recommended in Alla write up but that did not cause him to immediately sing the song next.

Fleq, I just ran this using /drunkamove (getting the quest manually first) and it still runs great for me. As for the bottle, I have done that in the past as well, sometimes you have to throw multiple bottles at him. Check your spam to see if he did sing the song and your guy did the mac but a timing response was off, long ago that issue happened where the mac did what was supposed to do, but the timing was a bit off for the NPC to get the response right. I had to make a hot key to get it done, that was a few years ago.
