Rizlona Enchanter Duo suggestions?

So I just spun up a main on Riz as a chanter since this has always been my favorite class. I have enjoyed MQ/Ka on live for a while now so toying with the idea of subscribing another account to run with me to make life a bit easier. (I don't have any krono and am not in a position right now that I can really afford a large full group box, but who knows if things go well then I might add them with krono). So starting off only looking at two characters to run. Enchanter will stick with main due to charm issues in KA, then looking for the mq box to compliment it. I am looking for possible suggestions on what class. Primarily I am looking at something to enjoying the "soloing" until such a time as I have enough free time to group (life is hectic right now so have to be able to stop and start pretty quickly which rules out the good groups, but I do miss group play so want to ultimately get back into it.) I'm primarily more concerned with fun aspect to supplement the chanter rather than requiring it to be max in any category, even to the point of non charming just to have fun (I know sacrilegious for a chanter right?)
So thoughts so far :

Bard - I enjoy this class as far versatility although there is a lot of overlap with the enchanter but some of that may provide safety in case of charm breaks. Bards with Ka so far on live have been pretty good as far as setting up and forgetting them for the most part (other than me not paying attention to which spell was pbaoe vs single target, /facepalm). Though from what I understand it will be a number of expansions until they really come into their own. Potentially this class may offer the most fun since I think I will have more options to do weird things, and can't rule out the nicety of having selos.

Cleric - The safe bet for charming. This one though feels so incredibly boring because mq/ka do such a good job of it (thank you guys I guess hehe). I'm guessing this might be best for grouping wise since clerics are typically in demand, but my past experiences in live I almost always forget I have a cleric. Do have rez but maybe it's just me but on live death hasn't been as much of a hinderence as it was back 20 years ago so it's nice to save time it doesn't seem essential.

Druid - Snare is very very useful I will admit. Ports will lose their usefulness here in a few months so I'm not really concerned with it. Healing is better than a bard. Does have sow. Might be better long term for powerleveling additional characters since I'm sure I will want additional ones. Semi-group friendly?

Necro - I'm not as experienced on the strategies of playing with a necro honestly besides watching them apply dots/taps/lich etc. I've heard if played well they can heal so I'm guessing that would be equivalent or a step up from bard. Good dps but I figured the dps was primary going to be coming from the charm pet if I play that style.

Other classes could be interesting too but those are the ones I initially considered. I really would like your thoughts guys on what you would choose and reasoning behind it.
Thanks!

since you're just doin the 2 for now, cleric sounds like a great pick.

not only do you have rezzes and buffs and heals (keep that charmed pet good to go), but you have the start to a great foundation if you do expand (next would be a tank imo)

clerics are also always in demand - so making some friends and guildmates - can always oog your cleric for some extra healin love, or pop em in like a merc if you have a slot

I agree with Sic, while clerics are not the coolest choice, when you are charming a mob that has mass amount of HP, complete heal is almost a must. Plus if they get agro, they can take a beating. I vote cleric. Druid is nice for ports and snares though as my second choice.

As mentioned above. Absolutely cleric or Druid are the two best choices. Just as a point of interest to something you said regards the druid, ports never lose thier usefulness. Even in current content, ports are still relevant. Ports make life a lot easier, and continue to do so long past PoP.

Also correct me if I’m wrong here, but Rizlona still has two months of kunark, then 3 months of velious, then 3 months of luclin, till pop, where travel becomes somewhat easier.

Main reason I wasn't excited about ports on druid was I played a wiz back on bristlebane for maybe 3-4 years after release and while yes ports were nice, they never felt as critical after PoP, and even to some degree the firepots that were introduced with Kunark. Yes they are nice but relative usefulness on a duo seems a lot less when other classes bring more to the table.

SK is the best choice for duo with an enc.
SK gives you control over the agro - when charm breaks....and can pull hundreds of mobs for u to charm!
It gives u a lot more options for play.

The best combo I have seen with a chanter is a necro.

Dots can all be set up with hotkeys, Necro pet can tank easy. Can pull, split , FD. If needed you can use two healer mercs, but both classes can Rune, and heal pets.

If you plan on move boxes, then the Necro isn't a great choice for a full box team.

I did a enchanter druid combo way back in the day when I charm killed for a lot of reasons, mainly snare :)
but druid was basically a support role for anything that made sure chanter could charm safely

He’s playing on rizlona. Mercs won’t become available for a few years

I may be out in left field but love the weird group of ENC/ROG setup. Just strip enchantment to take off charm and haste after Tash wares off. I changed (people thought I needed tank) to WAR. But use ROG to enjoy the game again.

I did ench/necro on Agnarr until LDON. ench/clr is the strongest combo but I wanted mobility with ports/sow. I fit into any group and was able to solo pretty much whatever I wanted with charm. I didn't MQ2 back then though. I just used two computers and dual boxed them.

I was doing charm w druid b4 i used mq2
cant overstate snare and then there is when everything goes south, you just evac then come back and set up again
sometimes just root/dot both mobs if charmed mob was too low and u wanted a fresh one.
I understand this is a progression server but in the end u have mq2, so things arent the same
Forcing the issue of duo ing with a chanter in the end the choices and optimal choices become more clear

I would heavily suggest cleric as the best duo with Ench! But I think SK / PAL could also be a good time.
