So I just spun up a main on Riz as a chanter since this has always been my favorite class. I have enjoyed MQ/Ka on live for a while now so toying with the idea of subscribing another account to run with me to make life a bit easier. (I don't have any krono and am not in a position right now that I can really afford a large full group box, but who knows if things go well then I might add them with krono). So starting off only looking at two characters to run. Enchanter will stick with main due to charm issues in KA, then looking for the mq box to compliment it. I am looking for possible suggestions on what class. Primarily I am looking at something to enjoying the "soloing" until such a time as I have enough free time to group (life is hectic right now so have to be able to stop and start pretty quickly which rules out the good groups, but I do miss group play so want to ultimately get back into it.) I'm primarily more concerned with fun aspect to supplement the chanter rather than requiring it to be max in any category, even to the point of non charming just to have fun (I know sacrilegious for a chanter right?)
So thoughts so far :
Bard - I enjoy this class as far versatility although there is a lot of overlap with the enchanter but some of that may provide safety in case of charm breaks. Bards with Ka so far on live have been pretty good as far as setting up and forgetting them for the most part (other than me not paying attention to which spell was pbaoe vs single target, /facepalm). Though from what I understand it will be a number of expansions until they really come into their own. Potentially this class may offer the most fun since I think I will have more options to do weird things, and can't rule out the nicety of having selos.
Cleric - The safe bet for charming. This one though feels so incredibly boring because mq/ka do such a good job of it (thank you guys I guess hehe). I'm guessing this might be best for grouping wise since clerics are typically in demand, but my past experiences in live I almost always forget I have a cleric. Do have rez but maybe it's just me but on live death hasn't been as much of a hinderence as it was back 20 years ago so it's nice to save time it doesn't seem essential.
Druid - Snare is very very useful I will admit. Ports will lose their usefulness here in a few months so I'm not really concerned with it. Healing is better than a bard. Does have sow. Might be better long term for powerleveling additional characters since I'm sure I will want additional ones. Semi-group friendly?
Necro - I'm not as experienced on the strategies of playing with a necro honestly besides watching them apply dots/taps/lich etc. I've heard if played well they can heal so I'm guessing that would be equivalent or a step up from bard. Good dps but I figured the dps was primary going to be coming from the charm pet if I play that style.
Other classes could be interesting too but those are the ones I initially considered. I really would like your thoughts guys on what you would choose and reasoning behind it.
Thanks!
