First off,
Hello everyone. I have been away form EQ for a little over 10 years now and I am thinking of playing again as the game that took me away is getting stale for me. When I last played I used ISBoxer and had a nice setup for my group but the screen for my main was so busy I really couldn't enjoy the view of the game. I was doing some internet diving during the downtime this morning and ran across this forum. The videos have peaked my curiosity for the potential, but I was wondering if there was a free trial like with ISBoxer or do I need to pay to try it out? Any help on this is appreciated.

well, MQ itself is free - Redguide's also has a "compile yourself" version called open-vanilla.

but no, there's no "free trial" for redguides.

sometimes folks will give out a level 2 to a newbie, but it is pretty easy to get redcents and become one by participating with the community

:rc A Redcent is the currency of our community. You can trade them in for Level 2 access, Krono, and more. Learn about them here:

Getting Started / Returning user

Welcome to RedGuides, fellow EQ multi-boxing enthusiast!

The best place to begin is our "New User Guide" video series, click this TV to watch:

This step-by-step series will teach absolute beginners how to control 6 characters at once while highlighting Nav, AutoLogin, and DanNet, which are fundamental plugins that will enhance every aspect of your game.

Returning users check out - MacroQuest Release Party: https://www.redguides.com/community/threads/macroquest-release-party.80628/ for information about changes from the legacy MQ2 to the new and awesome MQ

Welcome, As stated already small investment to make eq worth playing. To me MQ and EQ are synonymous. They don't exist without each other. My advice is start slow and work on basics like. Picking an automation, setting up team control hotkeys and methods. Lots of killer resources to choose from.

I cam back a few months ago and my suggestion is to take it easy getting back in, the game has changed so much over the years.
While the CWTN plugins are paid they are absolutely game changing.

I dont play the game in the same way I didn't back in the day but being able to spin up my own group and just play is a blast.

I would have to agree with everyone else.... There really is no EQ for me anymore without MQ.
The ability to have a full team that you control AND can automate, plus all the QoL options just make the game so much fun.

PS.... Welcome Back!!!
