i built out my mostly vanilla server about a year ago. Used the setup file from lazarus. Ive only tweaked around with it as i mostly have played on the GM command side building out pages of commands to level/gear/skill classes. Ive tinkered with the seasons and just in general worked with exactly what was there (IE nothing worth keeping beyond my social.txt files for those buildout commands). And building out my horde of characters in my guildhall, that generally just fidget:P
my question would be, i can get an updated PEC dump anytime. Im a year behind on the DB that the setup created. I can go through the steps to build another one and use heidi to go point to the new DB (assumption being ill lose the characters of anything i did build, and my custom port stein!) but is there really a need to do that?
i feel like over the past year with my fiddling i probably screwed up the spells somewhere as my bots dont all have populated spell sets (or maybe they dont, but who doesnt bot a shaman?) or the quests, as i have mine wide open, with POK looking more "current" but maybe not every NPC seems to fire correctly
so i have 2 options
1) full fresh install blow up everything!
2) do a database import (but is there really a need?)
How often do you guys that update your DB actually do a full import? Or do you tweak things like quests/spells etc, or do the Spire autoupdates and just let it ride? I feel like i want to do more, but recognize idle hands screw things up
