I think I saw on the discord someone went "when I did it last time it was like 4 or so offsets... HOLY SHT!" x.XNothing but positive thoughts and well wishes to the new team.
I saw the banner message is still up, so I am guessing there could be some challenges. Keep the faith people.
there is a neat little icon on the right side of the homepage of an icecream cone. if you look anywhere in that direction.. you will find that it is not.Is MQ back up and running? On my very vanilla launcher it still shows patch day unavailable

Listen if i was willing to step outside i wouldn't be fat and on ozempicIn the meantime, let's step outside and enjoy the Spring - or use the time in EQ to do all that stuff we have been putting off.
Thank you for the update! I spent the last year playing without MQ because it wasn’t enabled on truebox, and then I started using it again a few months back.. but it’s crazy how you don’t miss it unless you get used to how convenient it is.The learning curve is high, but the live/test team is making good progress. They're in-game, running scripts. But they're also being very careful, they want quality consistent with what everyone expected the last few years. When that's attained, you'll see a release. Stay tuned!
But think of all that candy you could buy with your EQ and MQ subscription money. Or how many starving children you could feed. Think of the children!Listen if i was willing to step outside i wouldn't be fat and on ozempic
The github repository has a version up, but I believe it is the emu version. Supposedly, they weren't going to branch off the live/test, so it may or may not work on live. I have not tested. They did release a version for test servers so....Is MQ back up and running? On my very vanilla launcher it still shows patch day unavailable

Release MacroQuest (emu-rof2) v3.1.4.7 · macroquest/macroquest
Automated release for emu-rof2github.com
yes looking to donate also!Troll here, been on the boards for a few months but this might be post #1. I'm an old MQ user from way back when you had to compile the system hash into the exe. . . . those were the days. First thing I did when coming back to EQ was to look for MQ. I would not have started playing without it. Thank You to the new dev team for stepping up. Hopefully there is a donate link that I can search out and do my part.
I've been curious about this as well.Has anyone seen how the new detection changes are actually impacting live servers so far—either positively or negatively?
I’m especially curious about real-world effects (player behavior, economy shifts, etc.), not just intended design goals.
My assumption is that this kind of detection would disproportionately affect multibox-heavy setups on live servers, potentially reducing their efficiency or viability.
For those actively playing:
- Are multiboxers noticeably less common or less effective?
- Has it changed server population dynamics or competition for resources/content?

the stuff that i get sent to me in DMs - people are out there making multipage infographic business presentations about it all.I've been curious about this as well.
Yeah I get that people might be overthinking it a bit, or that it’s still early—but DBG is a business. They’re 100% looking at data to see if this actually works.the stuff that i get sent to me in DMs - people are out there making multipage infographic business presentations about it all.
the thing is - we've had a couple days wait on MQ build before - so this isn't the first time - it is also coming into the dip before summer tlp launches
i do imagine a lot of people heard the rg announcement and said "fuck all this; fuck dbg" too
You’d be surprised how often companies end up shooting themselves in the foot on purpose for one reason or another. That said, I still doubt that’s actually the goal here—I’m in the corporate world and I’ve seen it happen plenty of times.Funny how dead the servers are. DBG isn't very intelligent. And to the poster above me, there is no way they were trying to kill it on purpose, I think it's an experiment tbh. They're going to backpedal fast if they figure out half the playerbase is using MQ.
Given that Daybreak is backed by venture capital, any decision that negatively impacts income or cash flow is likely to generate immediate concern from investors. This makes the situation seem less like a deliberate strategic move and more like either an unusual inquiry into the true player base prompted by the Heroes Journey suit strategy, or an internal overreaction by someone interpreting questionable spreadsheet data and deciding corrective action was necessary. If this ends up deterring paying subscribers, it would suggest either a major error in judgment or a significant operational mistake that should end up in a removal... like I said, venture capitalists... they don't care about your game, your community, you, or what you think, UNLESS it stops that check, they care about that check. You’d be surprised how often companies end up shooting themselves in the foot on purpose for one reason or another. That said, I still doubt that’s actually the goal here—I’m in the corporate world and I’ve seen it happen plenty of times.
If it really does hit a big chunk of the playerbase, let’s hope they don’t stick with it for long.
I could be way off... I don't think a lot of MQ users launch from Steam (is it even possible?). Thus, Steam would not have their tally or anyone using the DBG Launcher.View attachment 76641
Was curious as well, found this, for what its worth.
Course the only "real" data would be from DBG

Huge congratulations are in order for @captboom, @boxbuddy, @ncellular, @iluvseq and @Sic for working non-stop over the last week to bring you a build for the Test server! After MacroQuest devs retired from live/test (to focus exclusively on emu) we weren't sure if we'd ever see another live/test build, but this is the beauty of open source. If there's demand, skill, and time, it'll happen.
You can look at the commits on GitHub to see what all gets changed every month. So, for my own curiosity here; what all does compiling MQ entail? Not looking for a breakdown or anything, (as in no way can I code or C++) but more of an; explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old. What do the Devs have to complete every patch in order to keep MQ functioning properly?
For a new team, this work is like fully clearing a brand-new dungeon in EverQuest from a completely unknown state—with no prior information, no maps, and no third-party tools. So, for my own curiosity here; what all does compiling MQ entail? Based on comments from some of og team... There was legal ramifications for doing certain things and input scroll up in this thread.well do we have a idea when live might be up again.. I understand it might take some time but now its the weekend and still has not updated..
second question i have is.. i understand if someone was fired and that what caused this.. why didn't you all stick around and help these guys out a little on the first patch.. or at least allow them to see what you guys do in order to get it working ..
I know right.. they could at least made a comment of 1 more patch with the new team instead there like forget test/live but if you wana take it over it a option.. in that case why don't they just make the program open.. and let us use it at are own risk.. someone mention in these post if we were worried about bans or losing a account we wouldn't use a account were worried about losing. For a new team, this work is like fully clearing a brand-new dungeon in EverQuest from a completely unknown state—with no prior information, no maps, and no third-party tools.
New detection methods have not been countered YET, correct? The warning to use it on live or test at your own risk with high probability of suspension is still intact correct? Enjoy the vacation, cancel your subs, give the wife the attention she's been starved of and go enjoy some sunshine, correct?
What other tools are people using in the meantime? ISBoxer? Indentured teen gnomes? Anything else?
Has there been an actual increase in reports of suspensions?
In the immortal words of MJ “ F*ck them Kids”But think of all that candy you could buy with your EQ and MQ subscription money. Or how many starving children you could feed. Think of the children!
Using a debugger to find the offsets after that you need to deal with the detection methods they're using to catch MQ. Its a time consuming task that has only gotten harder recently even for the previous team. If you look at the last few updates it was taking longer each time to do it. The days of us getting MQ before the live servers are even up are probably gone. So, for my own curiosity here; what all does compiling MQ entail? Regardless of what happens with MQ, fuck DBG. That’s just a generally good stance, their management of the IP has been ass for a while.the stuff that i get sent to me in DMs - people are out there making multipage infographic business presentations about it all.

How could you forget Rogean being on the team tooP99 was fun about...15 years ago, for about 15 minutes. But to each their own. I disagree with them creating their own THJ when they could have just worked with the creators, instead they bring legal action against them and hire a clown like Secrets..
Progress isn't linear is the problem. We should have some kind of a sticky-thread that can show progress. I know folks are working hard while a bunch of annoying people try to be patient. It would be great to see their progress through these steps. Personally I could use a few days off of EQ, seeing the team's progress towards the fix would help me plan my week out.
