On Live servers there is a number of new collections installed with the May, 2026 update. These are all in old world zones and each zone has 2 ground spawn and 2 kill collections. I think there are 9 zones involved.

My question is whether there is any trick to storing collections in a houses that already contain hundreds of items. In other words, after the next expansion drops and I want to click these, what's an easy way to find them again?

I've never used housing to save collections before as I usually click them as I accumulate. But none of my characters need the AA now and I want to save it for when I can actually use it!

look into mq2collectionmanager - has a nice imgui interface, can select the expansion(s) you want to pickup/drop/click, etc. There are also a couple Lua scripts for doing this, One is a subscription which has a lot more options to it.

Each toon can own three houses. Buy a house place it on the lot and if you want extra space place a storage crate on the lot too. You can now place items in the house, in the yard or in the crate. Too see the items, click realestate items when you are on the lot and everything in that location will show up. Also since you own the house you can do a find from inventory and it will show you items in the house too. I use this method for collections, and tradeskill items. I have way more storage houses then I can see. Some items I have no opiton as co owner but to go to the house to see the items.

I use houses, don't use crates cause they up the rent on the plot. Houses can be free. You can set your filters to allow others to add/remove items from the houses. But you can only see the items thru the find key if you are owner of the house and not everyone can be owner of a house. Others will need to go to the house to see them

At this point I have 6 houses just for collections. I started out putting them in alphabetical order but keep having to move them to the next house as I collected more and more. I am thinking about going with a house per collection but that might not work any better.

So you have your main collect categories in an expansion or in this case the Old zones. This newest one has 9 of those. which covers 4 sub collects each. So that is 36 you need to complete. Now each one of those 36 have about 8 items in them.

Dunno, it's really up to the user, I'm trying to figure out something more cohesive but haven't hit on it yet. I think it might just be passing a bag around to all my characters with collects it in and when it reaches the last guy then the leftovers go to the baz. But you never know when you will make a new guy that could use all those AA.

I generally try to keep an expac or 2 of collections per house, and when I get enough for all of my toons to collect, I pass them from toon to toon in a group, then parcel them to the next group, until all groups have collected. Then dispose of the rest however works. Last server didn't really have a functioning bazaar to speak of, so passed em on to guildies, or just destroyed the extras if noone wanted em. CollectionManager helped, since it sorts em by collection and shows how many of each item you have, as well as if you have collected it or not.
