yeah ngreth was kind of shitty about it - basically said if you want raid spell focus and luck - go raid. kind of defeats the purpose of the super uber amazing rare tradable loots. one of the "features" of this fucking expansion was luck --- putting no luck on items is a scam

He’s just a lazy fuck. The items are a copy/paste job from the RoS raid items with different names.

Yup. With the stats on TBL group non-vis there’s also not a super compelling reason to freak out over the TBL chase gear. It’s just okay.

The TBL rares can drop in GMM. I had a group that doesn't have the latest expansion get a Descending Moon item in GMM. I'm not sure if the "increased drop rate" includes GMM.

In EoK era, it was roughly 1/5500 kills on average to get a rare, but about 10x worse penalty for drop rate if you're exp'n in an instance. Credit to william12 for the info awhile back.

EoK/RoS ultra-rares are now bazaar fodder.... if you're lucky you get 2 mil for one. I even had a damn Skyreach drop the other day...... back in EoK that would have been a 30 krono item.... now.... lucky to get 3-4 mil.

Here are all of the super rares. You can copy/paste them into your Daybreak Game Company/Installed Games/Everquest/userdata folder and then merge them under edit filters in the advanced loot window, or you can copy/paste them on to the end of your (LF_AN_charname_server).ini file. You have to camp and log back in before they will show up.

(Huge H/T to @Coinstop ) As he compiled all of the ones prior to TBL. I've just added all of the TBL Ultra Rares and compiled them all into one list.

Just out of curiosity, which expansion did "Ultra Rares" get introduced?
How much better are they than standard drops?
Are all of them prestige?
Are they normal named mob drops, but just drop very rarely?

I'm not sure which expansion first had them, but I've seen them drop in older zones like Dead Hills (the regular zone, not the instances.)

EoK seems to be when they added a huge variety. Full selection of weapons and multiple gear slot choices for almost any class. They basically copied over raid gear and made it attunable. RoS just kept the EoK list, no new items for lvl 110 toons. TBL added another level of ultra-rares, though I don't think that included any weapons.

Per william12's post a couple years ago, they drop off any mob (must be a full exp mob, not one of those easy kill ones) in a regular zone. Odds are roughly 1/5500 kills. Instances are same restriction but the odds drop to 1/55,000. It's an extra loot check, so the mobs can have all their other standard loot plus an ultra-rare.

Starting in RoS they were no longer raid gear for the current era. They are now the previous expansion's raid gear (a paradigm that continues in ToV).

All are prestige.

And they fall of mobs that have a minimum number of hit points. NOT all mobs in a given expansion. It is fair to say, however, that if the mob is somewhat substantial (not flagged as "weak" or with like 1 hp), then it has a chance of dropping the chase loot.

The Ultra Rares started in CotF expansion. They've been in every expansion since except RoS as stated above. I believe the drop rate is much better for CotF zones, compared to EoK/TBL. That's just from my observations though

I'm never skeptical. I just know they intend it to be a certain way but never actually test to make sure it actually works. There is no quality control at daybreak no accountability at all.

I don't have the codes, but one trick is going to the 'buyer page' in the bazaar and searching for the item. You can then select AN and should autoloot.

Well for me personally, farming, bags fill up really fast with that stuff. All the toon's mercs are equipped with it, and it doesn't sell in the bazaar or vendor.

After 3 or 4 days your sack will turn blue as well with an overflow of all that stuff!

Yes but it some times you need to shuffle their gear to get the stat increase.

There is something that I am unclear on with Ultra Rares.
Somewhere it said they only drop on "Full XP mobs"
Does that mean Dark Blue mobs will not drop them? or that they will drop them?
