Ok folks so here goes... I am looking for setup advice for my team. I am pretty set on he team with one exception I DO have a bit of an internal debate going on between Shmy and Chanter. If I recall correctly Chanters are much better in caster groups. What I MAY do down the road is do a heroic Chanter on the Shmy account and use shmy when I focus on melee and Chanter when I go caster. Here is what I am working with:

SK - Decent stats. working up upgrading gear to EoK T1 and updating augs around 15kaa
Mage - gear needs work, outdated augs and pet foci around 14k aa
Bard - gear upgrade in progress mostly in August crafted gear but slowly getting T1 visables augs need work
Shmy -gear upgrade in progress mostly in August crafted gear but slowly getting T1 visables augs need work ( almost non existant)
Cleric- Outdated gear, older augs but heals fine for me right now. ( will probably be the last I work on)
Wiz/ Rog- Both 105 I made the Wiz in TBM to start heading towards a more caster focused group. I had a pretty bad setup for my rog and found him fairly hard to get good boxed dps out of at the time. I've gotten pretty used to ports and evac but could be convinced to alternate them
Rog gear is same as bards augs are terrible
Wiz gear is mostly heroic almost zero augs and slowly getting T1 visables

I am currently using bot.mac with some fairly generic ini files. I have been testing out KA a bit but its lacking one major thing I use a LOT the "Come to me" command. I use follow me , come to me, stop functions in bot.mac often to move around.

What I am trying to figure out is :

For each class what are the primary spell sets to use in the majority of group content boxed situations. I realize many spells are situational but most of the time people use a core set. From there I can start focusing in on when to use what spells to build conditoins in the macros/ini files.
AA's per class
What ones are MUST setups? for normal trash and burn setups?

I realize im asking for a ton of information and I am looking everything up slowly. Just hoping to get a head start and save myself some digging if people know any of the classes really well.

Thanks in advance and looking forward to being an active member of the community!

Haven't used bot but I recently returned to the game and started using KA. Back in 08 I was a heavy mod bot user. With KA you can use the chase command for the characters to follow you around with and when your done just issue the camp here command. My thoughts are if you have a bard you don't or shouldn't need an enchanter. Also with KA there AE quite a few examples for ini files created for most characters and for ones that are not created you can request others.

For when I'm moving between zones and not using the macro I use advpath plugin. I just issue commands to other toons through BC for follow / stop. Have them on my primary character on my hot button bar. Just /bca //target toonname, /bca //follow then to stop /bca //afollow off

Great info thanks. I need to read up on mq2advpath. I am also in the process of getting rqbc set up again. I used it in 08ish to monitor afk toons from work with eqbc interface. Going to try to get that working again and if like to be able to send commands like sit for thy guy in Chardok that casts fd on you.

There's a lot of posts in my guide that will help you: http://www.redguides.com/community/...-Helpful-Posts-and-Links-(updated-11-16-2016)

Check out the Boxing and Class Discussion along with the Follow/Chase/Stick/MQ2AdvPath/Travel section.

My quick summary of how I travel (probably not perfect but I play using Kiss Assist manual on my SK and the other guys follow):

ChaseOn = Kiss Assist command, just set it and they will follow (put who you want them to follow in each respective characters KA file). Its KA's version of /stick command (which is improved /follow). This is on most of the time since I'm usually fighting or moving to the next fight and I have it on via my macros (AutoCleric, AFNuke2, KA).
AFollow = You will follow the character EXACTLY like the character moved. So if you zig zag the guy will follow your zig zag path exactly (since it follows the /loc). I dont recommend using this unless you are near cliffs or need to go on a specific path as it makes your characters look very odd doing it but its helpful in a lot of situations because /stick or /chase can cause your guys to get stuck on corners or fall off edges in tight areas.
Stick = just an improved follow. I usually do /stick uw 10 (I think thats the code) which follows 10 units behind and the UW is for underwater which helps them when they are using levitation or under water. I only use this command if I'm not running a macro as otherwise you have chase.
MoveTo = your guy will try to run towards that area. I rarely use this because my team is always with me but its helpful if someone gets stranded.

For all of these I have social hotkeys set up to turn them on or off. Also, /mqp is a helpful command when traveling (it pauses the macro). I often use this before porting or zoning because sometimes the chase or other follow commands can get screwy if you have KA or other macros running when you port or zone. Just /mqp again once you've moved to where you wanna go (I often use /stick to travel), and your macros will resume.

Here's a thread talking about enchanter vs bard vs shaman: http://www.redguides.com/community/showthread.php/31723-Enchanter-vs-Bard-vs-Shaman (from 2015, some things changed - I believe bard mana regen has been nerfed since then)

My 2c from only being back since November is that chanter is better for caster heavy, bard for melee heavy, and shaman isn't that great except in certain circumstances.

Hope some of this helps.

Excellent! lots of info to sort through!
Thanks so much!

I was in the same boat as you and that's what led me to create that links thread. The best thing is just get familiar with each command. What I did was start a 3 man on a depopulated server and just mess around with different commands/settings to get a feel for things.

As many have mentioned for movement, use EQBC to issue chaseon or stick or afollow via an ingame social like /bcg //stick id ${Me.ID} 10 uw

Regarding group, start with the holy trinity and move to something more exotic later or as group2/3/4 etc...

1 Tank = SHD/PAL/WAR
2 Heal = Cleric
3 CC = BRD/ENC

4 DPS or Porter
5 DPS
6 DPS

So your group layout...

1 SHD - cuz you got one, no reason to change
2 CLR - cuz you got one, no reason to change
3 BRD - cuz you got one, no reason to change
4 WIZ - cuz you got one, no reason to change
5 MAG - cuz you got one, no reason to change

I find a porter to be a big deal for me so I always have #4 as a porter
lean towards Wiz if I have a cleric but it is still a good group with dru+clr. However because you have a MAG+CLR I would def go Wiz.

Bard vs ENC.... I love bard speed.... so I almost always go bard =)
Enc is better at CC than Bard for sure, same with mana regen. They are also very beneficial out of group and to help level other chars.

I am not certain from your post if the WIZ & ROG are on same account....
If = same account... then use the Wiz.... similar DPS and you get ports, so a no brainer to me.
If != same account.... I am hesitant to use a melee without SHM/ENC/BST haste...

For your #6 this is how I would rank choices...
#6 Beastlord, good option IMO... you get some spell haste + some target slow + good DPS + some buffs + pet benefits from mag aura
#6 Wizard, How has Razkle not shown up talking about boom boom rodeo or something already? IMO this is a great option, double wiz melts things, I just hate to lose haste from BST/ENC/SHM and I am not a fan of doubling up on classes in same group /shrug.
#6 as your existing Shaman.... You get haste+slow+buffs, If you go SHM+WIZ or SHM+ROG your dps will still be fine just not face melting, but! you have a backup healer! so great survivability
#6 Enc all around better CC, you get haste+slow, you get mana regen, they do more DPS then SHM I believe....
#6 Berserker/Rogue/Ranger/Monk.... you have no spell haste.... I would skip this
#6 Druid less DPS
#6 Necro less DPS in short fights, but you got twitch!

Just do what most of us ended up doing... make 2 groups, then 3 then 4..... No reason to not have 50 EQ chars!

I have 3 box, so my perspective is very different, i usually build teams.
I always have a porter in the group so it's usually wizard/druid and whatever else i have.

If you have the dps for it, the bard is the fastest puller in the game.
If you don't enchanter is the best puller in the game if the junk is mezable.
Line junk up like they're waiting at jimmy johns for their crap sandwich.

My favorite teams run like

1) Wizard / Chanter / Mage
2) Druid / Ranger / Ranger
3 ) Druid / Warrior / Berzerker
4) Bard / Rogue / Druid

Haven't really given my #4 a chance yet, but my #2 failed me today lol.

in his case I would do Sk, Cler, Sham, Bard, Mage, Wiz

But in the real world where success means lootz, I would cover the shamans face with a pillow until he stops moving and then roll a wiz or a beastlord on that account....
The mage is now quite valuable so I am rethinking my fav of SK, Cler,Chanter, Wiz, Wiz, Beast.... for SK, Cler, Chanter, Wiz, Wiz, Mage

SK, Cler, Chanter, Wiz, Beast, Mage is what I run and it is amazing. With the beast I get buffs, some melee, and mana regen so my mage and wiz are chain casting all day long.

So much GREAT feedback.

I think I am going to keep the team as it is and keep running with the wiz.
So final conclusion:

Sk
Mage
Bard
Wiz
Clr
Shmy

Now... what are the optimal spell line ups for each?
What AA's do I care about the most?
Trying to squeak the most dps and ability to survive out of the team as possible.

Just do what most of us ended up doing... make 2 groups, then 3 then 4..... No reason to not have 50 EQ chars!

I am going to resist doing this.. I AM!
6 is bad enough...

For spell lineup's look at the level 105 EOK Kiss INI's posted in the Kiss forum. That will give you an idea.

Good Call Bami!
Thanks folks
What about AA's to use during normal and burn cycles?

Rather than create a new thread with my own request - I thought I would post here.

I'm currently running with SK, Zerker and Bard with merc healers.

Although I have a druid in the wings, I'm thinking about fleshing out my group as follows:

SK
Bard
Zerker
Cleric
Beastlord
Mage

Thoughts?

The SK, Bard and Zerker are non-negotiable, but I can move on the others.

Looks good to me, cc, haste, slow, buffs, heals all covered then added DPS.
I would keep BL and swap mag for wiz/dru for ports, keep BL for mana regen + slow&haste imo.
I am not sure how much advantage BL pet gets from Mage pet aura/buffs

I would personally go with the following in that Setup:
Sk
Bard
Ber
Ber
Clr
Bst

Warms my heart all these folks rolling beasts lol. Been an undervalued class for a long ass time. They have been near the top of the dps charts when played well for the past 4 or 5 expansions.

My favorite trio for a long time was NEC/MAG/BST because I love pets. That's probably even more viable now that you can melee with pets tanking...

I haven't played a BST since uh.. well a long long time.

This would be my thoughts if I were to go melee also. Although it would have to be a phased approach since I already have a solid Rogue so the Zerker would probably come last for me.

One of my favorite trios is Ranger/Cleric/Enchanter, provides a lot of utility and you can charm kill for days with the snare and heals.
