IRL - Allakhazam.com in search engine gone? Fix that.. (5 Viewers)

I tend to use Brave Browser and use more often Brave Search as the search engine, but often enough use Google for a few things that they list better. When I do, I found, as many of you have Alla is no longer listed there. So in your fave browser, change your search engine to use something else and VOILA you should see Alla. this has frustrated me so much I just figured I'd post a solution for anyone feeling the same and may not have known.
duckduckgo works and is in most search engines listings as a choice.

Set a favorite to Everquest.Allakhazam.com? Then search engines don't matter.

I had noticed that Zam doesn't show in google searches. I wonder if it is because of the metric crapload of popups and spam and junk they have if you don't use a popup blocker. I usually avoid Zam anyway. I prefer all the other sites before I "have" to find the info there.

Zam went under some drastic changes a few months ago. Fanbyte laid off quite a few people and stopped paying Gidono to make the updates and took away his privileges to change the database. He thinks at that time that google just straight up delisted the site.

The site still has content admins working on the site updating content and can add new content as long as it's not for a new expansion. He might be able to give the lead developer there what he needs in order to add new expansions so at least the categories are available but he doubts they'll go out of their way to update spells, add items etc since they work on their big sites, Allakhazam is a very low priority for them, especially after all the layoffs.

I notice a few old timers are more active adding comments and one of them has changed/updated things here and there. Unfortunate but he moved something into the tradeskill section. This is bad because that item is not a tradeskill and the tradeskill section is locked behind a paywall.

Its been like that for a while now. It doesn't show in Google search Ive had to bookmark it. Rest of the site seems to work fine once on it.

They haven't had any patch notes since Game Update 2-11-2026. Guessing the layoff was sometime around March?

given some of the adds i got on there site i suspect it was removed for the following reason:

Security Issues or Penalties: Google may have removed the site due to malware, hacking, or severe spam violations

those ads have always been like that unless you pay a sub for Zam. Now eq resource has the same set up with the ads on the bottom and the sides.
