Thanks for all the comments below, this has been updated with the suggestions and is working well EXCEPT sometimes not all my burns are firing. I'll look into that.

Things to note:

-- Uses Glowing Mod rod. If you don't have the updated AA, change glowing to "Giant"
-- Summons several mod rods for mana
-- Summons Fire Orbs for additional DPS
-- Uses Elemental Form: Fire for added DPS so you may want to block the illusion portion
-- Uses an Water pet because this is a DPS mage, not a pet tank mage.
-- Water pet uses a stun sword and a fire sword due to the additional fire damage modifiers in this INI
-- Uses a RoS t2 Robe clicky so you may want to change that to yours
-- Uses a RoS t2 pet ear item to shrink so you may want to update that in pet buffs
-- PetBuffs1=NULL so you can put your pet illusion spell here
-- PetBuffs2=...Burnout XIII -- burnout is commented out in my INI because my SK's buff overwrites it and it sends the mage into a buffing loop
-- Should work with the command /pettoysplz petname to give weapons to nearby pets (only weapons and mask)
-- MiscGem=13 If you don't have 13 gems yet, you need to change it to your preferred so you don't get into a loop
-- Spells are listed below... delete all your spells from your gems then type /memmyspells If you have an empty spell gem after you do this, you either do not have the correct rank (so add or remove rank from the spells in the INI, save, and run again), or you do not own the spell and you need to find it. For some reason Rank is an issue with the kiss version of /memmyspells.

I noticed that a couple of abilities were consolidated in the December the 12 patch to EQ. I'm not sure if I'm reading things wrong though since I have only just come back from a long break.

- Magician - Consolidated Elemental Ward to be ranks of Shield of the Elements. Reduced the initial reuse time of the ability, extended its duration, improved its stacking to better coexist with other spell and melee guard buffs, and scaled back the elemental damage reduction.

Volley of Sand



why no burnout? stacking issues? asking for a friend. haha!

Thanks! I had fixed that Volley of Sand in my ini, but not here. I will update it when I get home. I don't use burnout because it doesn't stack with the SK buff. You probably would want to update it to the new burnout spell and that may over write the SK, but I haven't tested. I'll get back to you.

It's eating some mana, but it's a change from never using ANY mana before. If you're having that issue, you may want to change

first, thank you for doing this. secondly i'm a noob when it comes to stuff like this so I have some questions. do you have a fully updated version of this with all the changes folks have chimed in about? so that i can just copy all and paste it. where do i paste this to? how do i turn it on during specific times when burns are called and turn it off when im grouping? and turn it back on if i get a named in the zone? so basically i need step by step instructions on how to implement this. and i'm tired so i missed if you had the glyph AA included in this? please help. also i still have the velazul's robe. not lucky enough to get the updated selrach's version or whatever it is for the ros xpac. also i assume if i have the rk II versions i would just add this to the lines where u have the regular rk1 spells? also where u have the "gems" the last section is that what i should have loaded as the lineup and in that order? sorry im all over the place but i'm really not to savy when it comes to lines of code etc. again, thanks for your forthcoming assistance.

Just started using this, works good except I noticed the mage gets caught in a loop trying to summon a giant modulation shard when she already has one, and get the error duplicate lore items are not allowed. Any ideas? Whats even more odd is the exact same ini I loaded on another mage and its not happening to them. Ive looked over the buff section and it looks correct.

Change glowing to giant or train the last AA rank so you summon glowing instead of giant.
 
Sorry I didn't respond to this sooner, for some reason I just now saw it.

Let me answer your questions:

-- Yes this INI has been updated but see the notes above for things you may have to change

-- Copy and paste it into your file that is in the macros folder and is your server and mage name > Release/Macros/server_mymage.ini (If you don't see one, then in game run kiss for the first time)

-- There is no glyph AA activated in this

-- It's NOT a pet tank INI but if you want that just change the pet spells

-- This INI will automatically burn named for you

-- If you want to manually play your mage, just make a hotkey that is nothing but /mqp and then toggle it to pause the macro (letting you control it), or unpause the macro so that it can do the dps for you

-- There are some notes above the INI on how best to memorize the spell line up like I have it.

-- You shouldn't need to do any code or anything at all with this one. Just update the lines with your robe, your pet illusion, pet ear clicky, etc.

I just started using this and the mage is forever casting the summon firebound orb even though one is already in inventory. Anyone know how to fix this?
 
The Buffs section is looking for a "Firebound Orb II." So if you don't have the rank ii spell, you're summoning a different version of the orb and the buff will keep casting that summon buff until it has 1 of the rank ii versions in inventory.

any thought on while using the macro here all my mage wants to do is cast giant modulation shard?
 
When you use the summon tag in a buff, it will look for exactly the item name you put after it. So this one will cast the Summon Modulation Shard AA and look for 1 "Summoned: Glowing Modulation Shard"

If you don't have the max level of Summon Mod Shard though, the rod it summons is called Giant. So you just need to change the name of the summoned item to match the item you are actually making.
