• Hail, we're RedGuides. We want you to play six (yes, 6!) EverQuest characters at once. We have scripts and a friendly community to help, please join our playstyle and say hello! 👋
  • We've added LLM sections to our Terms & Rules and Resource Rules, for everyone's sanity & in-game safety.
    a. Do not replace your voice with an LLM. This goes for your posts and your scripts. Drafting and editing with a tool is fine, but don't take you out of what you share.
    b. Do not replace your EQ character's voice with an LLM. We don't want scripts that speak over /ooc, /shout or other public channels. This has been an unwritten rule that's kept casino scripts off the site for decades, but we're now compelled to make it clear: keep automated communication private.

    Why Does RG Review Scripts?
Nearly every LLM-written Lua script we see is making your character do impossible things, and rarely in a way that's beneficial to you. We've seen heavy server hammering, /target over impossible distances when /nav spawn would passively accomplish the same thing, a spawn search that fires 20+ times per second, and other pointless actions that are likely annoying GMs.

You are welcome to use LLMs as a tool to structure, draft, and edit your work, but please read critically before hitting /lua run
Easy.lua

Easy.lua 2026-11-04

Fixes

Destroy Rods: it now catches rods such as “Summoned: Modulation Shard IX” on the cursor or in your bags. It checks the cursor again before destroying and returns anything not on the list to your inventory. It now runs first in the options list, ahead of Clear Rods and Clear Cursor.
Possible fix for the player counts: “Peers in zone” now uses the DanNet zone group count. Before, it could show wrong numbers on some setups. Make sure MQ2DanNet is loaded. If guild or other-player counts still look wrong, let me know your zone and what you see.
Timeouts on waits: parcel pickup, bind wounds, scoot camp and hide no longer wait forever if something goes wrong.
New

Favs: you can add, remove and restore your own favorite buttons, with optional pop-up help text. They are saved per character.
Buttons and header: the buttons are color-coded and show when a command is running, and the top button row no longer overlaps the dropdown. Favs actions are wrapped so one bad command can’t stop the script.
Removed: the old Ignore Mob button.
Under the hood

The window no longer does game lookups every frame. The values it shows refresh about twice a second. The GM alert now works with the window collapsed too.
Thank you to Redbot and Derple for the insight. Fixed Easy's window running spawn searches every frame.
Rebuilt into modules, burns reworked, settings now save, and Pop Merc fixed.
Easy.lua BETA v10.0

Big update. Easy has been rebuilt from one giant file into modules, burns have been reworked across every class, and a number of long standing bugs are fixed.

Before you update
  • Delete your old lua\Easy folder first, then unzip the new easy folder into your lua folder. Run it with /lua run easy.
  • Settings have moved to config\easy\ in your MacroQuest folder. Each character gets its own Easy_<server>_<name>.ini, and config.lua (food, drink, destroy/keep lists, mod rods) is created for you on first run. config_default.lua is gone, so there's nothing to rename.
  • Your old Easy.ini is not carried over. Run each character once to create its new settings, then set your options again.

Burns
  • New burn trigger, based on how RGMercs decides to burn: burn when enough mobs are on you, when the target is named, or when you force it. No more fixed target HP window.
  • New settings in Custom Burn Settings: Use Auto Burn, Burn Always, Burn On Named, Burn When Fighting This Many Mobs (default 1), and an optional "Also Require Target HP Window" if you still want the old Start/Stop Burn range on top.
  • New commands: /easy burn forces a burn on your current target (clears itself when you change target or it dies), and /easy burnclear cancels it.
  • Added missing AAs and disciplines to most class burns, compared against the RGMercs Live class configs. Intensity of the Resolute is added for Bard, Beastlord, Cleric, Monk, Paladin, Rogue, Shadowknight, Shaman and Warrior, plus class-specific additions for Beastlord, Berserker, Cleric, Druid, Monk, Necromancer, Paladin, Ranger, Shadowknight and Warrior.
  • Disciplines now try each rank/era name in turn, so whichever version you have scribed gets used, and they won't try to fire while another discipline is running.
  • Burn clickies: Berserker (Cohort's Warmonger Coat), Shadowknight (Innoruuk's epic, named targets only), Beastlord (Beast Tamer's / Savagesoul Jerkin) and Necromancer (Blightbringer's Tunic / Deathcaller's Robe). If you don't have the item, it's skipped with no delay.
  • Only your own class's burn is loaded, so Easy starts faster.

Interface
  • The Class Options tab only shows options your class can actually use.
  • Refreshed Hunter tab: new colors, animated progress bar and buttons.

Rogue
  • Poison legs: only clicks when you're wearing legs that have a click effect, never while you're sneaking or hidden, and can no longer lock the legs slot if you're holding Shift.
  • After summoning, sneak and hide are only used if they're off and ready, so it no longer turns sneak off if you were already sneaking.

Corpse recovery (Rogue/Bard)
  • Walks to the corpse and only targets it once it's close, instead of targeting it from across the zone.
  • Fixed consent for DanNet corpses.
  • Gives up after 3 minutes if it can't reach the corpse.
  • Fixed macros being left paused when a recovery failed part way.

Other fixes
  • Destroying mod rods no longer spams "Invalid item slot".
  • Close Book waits without freezing the rest of Easy.
  • DanNet load attempts are limited to once every 30 seconds.

As always, run your first launch on one character at a time so each one's settings file gets created. Feedback and bug reports welcome in the discussion thread.
Missed the request for adding Pick Pockets.
Under the options tab there is a checkbox for auto Pick Pockets.
Added to the Class options when using burn routines.
Added a check in each burn routing for Back Item / Damage shield buff and Charm / Geomantra. Will cast these buff items if you don't have the buff and have the item equipped.
Added the base starter routine for MNK Burn (will need tweaked as did not have a 120 Monk to actually test)
Added Intimidation to the classes that use it.
All automations of the script are set to off (false) by default with the exception of UseDanNet. You have the option to set UseDannet to false in the custom ini file, however this will also disable any functions that require DanNet to work.

Added a zone that was missing (753) as a non safe zone.

Added mercenary information under the merc tab. Merc info will be displayed if you have an active mercenary.

Added animation to the battery level of your power source. Empty/Quarter/Half/ThreeQuarter and Full.
