Problem - why is this so complicated!?

Those things don't work for me either. These other things though, they work great.
I tried these other things you speak of, but they failed to work for me. I should probably try this thing, then that thing.

I can't figure this out anymore, I do the same things I used to do previously, except now it doesn't do a lick of good :(
Getting Started / Returning user

Welcome to RedGuides, fellow EQ multi-boxing enthusiast!

The best place to begin is our "New User Guide" video series, click this TV to watch:

This step-by-step series will teach absolute beginners how to control 6 characters at once while highlighting Nav, AutoLogin, and DanNet, which are fundamental plugins that will enhance every aspect of your game.

Returning users check out - MacroQuest Release Party: https://www.redguides.com/community/threads/macroquest-release-party.80628/ for information about changes from the legacy MQ2 to the new and awesome MQ

ini files are filled out correctly i do believe but nothing is "firing" when loaded i guess. idk they dont want to do the actions the files say they should be doing in game, they just stand there and if im lucky do the absolute bare minimum so i guess thats a start i just cant figure out the fine tuning issues. im gonna look into this guide Sic left in the threads and see if i can hopefully come out the other side in a better situation!!

make sure the INI are in the config folder, not macros

Watch the videos sic posted. Start SIMPLE. Make your tank attack something. Then make another char attack the thing the tank is attacking. Then make that char follow the tank somewhere. Build from the ground up. Level a new group of 3 like that, or 6. That will get you comfortable with the basics. Then you can start looking at some of the higher level ini files posted and figure out the more complicated ideas

I am ASSuming you're using KA. make sure you target your tank and /mac kissassist or group /bcaa //mac kissassist (if using eqbc) or /dga /mac kissassist (if using dannet). Take a peek at your ini's and see that your assist toons are set to assist and tank to tank. When all else fails, get CWTN class plugins and you'll be in cruise control mode :bang:

and make sure to set the tank as MT and MA.

when loading plugin, im getting alot of "nothing defined in this section" for nearly every section. (buffs/dps/burn/heals and what not)

That sounds like kiss, not a plugin.

Means your ini sections are empty.

Open up that ini and edit them.

It sounds like what we've said previously

My biggest mistake when I started was not setting my tank and assist roles. If your toons are not assisting then it is 99.9% probable that you failed to set those roles. Another possible culprit could be you have not updated your mesh. I find that some zone meshes are worse than other and my toons will sit there with their thumbs up the @ss and do nothing, but if i move my camp slightly they all start doing their jobs.

Make sure when you watch Sic's videos that you don't skip things. setting a camp, moving camps, etc. They are all there for a purpose. It will be frustrating at first, but once you start to feel comfortable you will kick yourself for not starting earlier.

One thing I would as is to accurately state the issues you are having. Based on the OP it sounds like you used to use MQ2 and are now returning? If that is the case have you properly migrated to the new MQ2? I know that migration for me was kind of tricky.
