Question - Which class for 6th toon? (1 Viewer)

Druid will always be in my teams. Ports, regen, damage shields (although mage is better) and ridiculous DPS in longer fights. Druid also has a buff that increases damage to fire and cold based spells. Great compliment for a mage.

While I don't agree with the sentiment that Shm are so-so as solo healer, mine does just fine keeping the SK alive, even keeps the monk alive when i decide to tank with him. Now, the monk can't tank what the SK can tank .. correction, my monk can't tank what my SK can tank.

I'd go with what folks above have said. A druid or wizard. Or, get rid of the mage and pick 2 more from rog/beserker/beastlord.

Druid.

Ports do make life easier. I would give the nod to Wiz with ports personally just for the group TL to bind. It is handy having the option to bind your Wiz somewhere that’s a bit of a pain to get to and bring the whole group across when needed.

Reptile helps a lot once available and can make a big difference on tougher content. Plus the ports etc.

Another very useful aspect is group ac/hp/other buffs they can offer. With no cleric, Druid buffs are the next best thing.

I will absolutely say a wizard because you don't need more healing... make shit go boom better.
Things like facing named that cast aoe or more than one unmezzable red con add will overtax a shm healer at times, but if you account for that and don't want ports, then boom ahoy.

Druid - (Mainly because of teleportation and backup heals) but if you you do not mind moving toons around . I would go Necromancer

Swap the SK for a paladin and slot in a druid and that's been my daily driver for some time now. Very durable, very versatile, And with the addition of the Druid, quite mobile too.

Few expansions ago I would of voted a mage. Which overall is adequate. But the last two expansions the wizards have moved ahead on dps in a significant way. Based on just dps and ftp,id would chose wiz for this reason.
I was decently surprised of a fresh level 125 wizard's dps with not much gear and moderate aa. With some gear and aa they have become monster dps for casters nowadays.

I think you missed the FTP. He is increasing the DPs with ranger buffs on the SK, bard and rouge. You only get so much from FTP,, but the ranger buffs help alot.
I was asking if you still thought it was the best choice even though the OP said the account would be F2P, given the other options... Not sure how you think I missed it, I mentioned it =P

Paladin. They support the other tanks really effectively as a healer, plus their group armor buffs help quite a bit more than putting in another healer to back up the sham. Have plenty of dps with a 2hander as well, not to mention having in combat res without having to go through the hassle of getting a res stick is handy.

I'm on the side that ports aren't all that important now that expansions are so small, and have been for about 10 years now.

Druid or Wizard, imo.

Having rapid access to their bind somewhere and a port is convenient if you are doing initial questing or something and dont want to run a lot. Evac is nice to have hotkeyed if things go completely pear shaped.

Druid heals arent terribly substantial, they've saved me in a pinch, but a well tuned shaman can heal probably 98% of situations. Most times your SK should be keeping itself alive with minimal shaman intervention anyways. Their fire/cold debuffs for mobs would absolutely be a boon for your mage's DPS. Druids can nuke half decently and their dots are really strong, but mana sustainability when dotting in sustained grind groups is a massive problem for the class. They are relegated to so-so healing, so-so dps (dot/nuke), and evac monkeys.

Wizards put out some serious boom, mana isn't nearly a problem, and they have some sorts of debuffs that may synergize with the mage, plus their class synergy. And port/evac.

Between the two, you're looking at your own needs. Wizards get you a bit more DPS, but you need to be comfortable with SK/Shm healing. If you think your healing ever needs a backup, the druid is a better choice.

That Group screams I need a Monk up in here, however, I have never played an FTP character... Monk aura takes 10% damage off the tank and your group DPS would be high end...

Thanks, everyone. I decided on a Druid for the benefit of an occasional extra healer (e.g., during a mission when your Shaman gets cursed and needs to run to the other end of the room).

I think it depends on how things are going with the current group. For instance, if you find that it is taking too long for things to die, then I would go wizard. If you are having trouble keeping the tank/group alive, i would go druid. If you are going to make them paid at some point, i would consider bst.

I have a f2p wiz and it out DPS's most classes. The teleport to bind is huge to get to those out of the way zones fast. I would definitely go with the wiz.

Wizards are way more useful, and stronger than some people may realize, I definitely would go with one.
Ports, Snares, Vey High DPS, The wizard pet is a good pulling tool as well.

I’d recommend either a Druid or a Wizard. Both classes have ports, Wizards excelling in DPS, Druids basically have everything except melee combat. lol

If, like me, you enjoy tweaking KissAssist INI files for fun, Druids are especially rewarding to play.
