Question - What language and complier is used for the plugins and macros

I am new to programming and want to buy learning materials . I have shown some code to co-workers that do some coding about what language is this but nobody seems to be able to tell me the language.

I would like to learn how to create plugin and macros but is the programming language is used C++, Python, JavaScript?

If this has been answered in another question, Sorry, It did not come up in any search's that I did.

Dos anyone have an recommendation on resources or languages (And what order to learn them in) to learn to have a well rounded skill set.

The plugins are programmed in C++
The macros are written in the Macroquest 2 scripting language.
