Has anyone tried a paladin slay undead group with a necro to turn mobs undead? I was talking with a pally about it and it seemed an interesting idea. Have the necro turn mobs undead and let the pally slay undead it. What would the ideal makeup be for such a group?

Necro, bard, pally x4?

Bard provides haste, overhaste, and pulls, or a pally can pull. The pallies would heal themselves and have undead slow right? They could just offtank any adds. How practical could this be?

Mana cost on that spell and short 6 seconds to land your undead stuff.... its more practical to just kill undead things. And don't discount SK. With aa's they can undead slow. Clerics have some undead DDs. Necro has undead slow and mez. You would probably get more mileage out of having more necros than pallies.

Well they are buffing the anti/annihilate spells come next expansion. We will see if they compare with the buffs to wizards.

My pally i often run with 1 or 2 necros, and just for the sake, use the option to ignite bones.

I also pull as many mobs as I can find when running my necros.

I don't think that would be ideal makeup, just due to the nature of the game.

Still fun tho.

"Theory crafting" doesn't return the types of fruit in EQ as it does in many other games unfortunately

Ya. I would image more of a necro heavy pally group instead of a pally heavy necro group. It is fun to think about possibilities. Didn't want to totally dog his idea.

What's the best place to hunt undead in Tob or SRo?

There is going to be an undead island in the Arcstone zone. Tower in Hodstock for sure.
Yay, pally central.

If theory crafting is pointless, then there must be one or several "meta" builds. If that is so, then what is/are the meta builds?

Melee - Shaman, Bard, plus 4 of Ranger, bard, Rogue. Monk, BL
Caster - Enchanter, Druid, Wiz x3, Mage
Undead - Necro x3, Pally x3
Mage - Shaman, Bard, Enchanter, Mage x3
Poison - Shaman, Bard, SK, Rogue x3

Any others?

And how many necros would be need? Necro x3, Pally 3?

those are what you might come up with if you were reading an eq novel, not playing eq the game

It would be my strongest group. Pally Shaman, Necro, Bard, Mage and Bst. I have to do this!
