The AFK Bard Macro (1 Viewer)

also i used /circle on 26 X Y .. so i tell it wher my center is ..

and then it keeps itself there

I have not used FH for a while.. been doing MM's Others stuffs... and working on macros..

I got a long weekend starting tomorrow..

maybe i can fit some time into the weekend for this too

TS macros first though 8-)

army

I am running the macro while sitting at my screen and watching tv at the same time ... 2min into it ctd. restart eq restart target.mac runs 15-30min ctd.
am I doing something wrong?
I have never left it running when i walked away from screen. so if i got a summons or a tell i could answer it right away.

I see where some run it for hours and days for lots of aa's and exp.
why cant i get it to run more than 30min max ?

BTW the 30 min was in an instant FH with cleric as a backup. not groupped but she was there.

... 2min into it ctd

I get the same thing a lot. If it makes it past the second kill, then it seems to go fine until somewhere around the 2 hour mark when a Rat suddenly lands every blow and kills me. It's like the Rat is going into bardspeed or I stopped running, one or the other.

I gave up on this macro for now. If I had a Cleric as my 2-box it wouldn't be too bad. I keep dying 3-4 times trying to get through a session in FH, and then I spend a lot of plat on summon/res, and THEN I realize I only made about a quarter level for a whole evening of my time. I can do that in 1 MM so I quit using this macro.

Are you running docrack nostun and docrack nomeleepush. I find if they are running and nostun burps thats it for me..... other then that it runs fine.... I also have adjusted the health < so that its a lil high 75% so if they really start womping me I have time to warp before I die.

K let me just say that i love this site. Since this is my first post and all. But i have been around for some time reading. Anyway I thought i would make a bard for fun and its been a good time so far. I did start useing the target.mac and it works great. My problem is that well when i do it the slowly start falling off and walking away while i am still running. So say i'm up against something that conns red. I will beat on it forever and then with out me knowing it walks away. How do i prevent this?
thanks,
Zip

I made the macro from the first page but it didnt seem to work is there a newer version for the targeting macro?

a good spot to AFK kite is in Murk room in RCoD, where the Zun'Muram spawns size 65 circle and nostun on works really well, and few people ever go to that room unless raid for Zun. if Zun up kite front half, if not kite in middle

I would like to thank everyone who has put time into this macro. Including those who have shared the good spots to run it. I have my 45 bard in Jagged Pine. Im watching him kite on the other monitor. Its a work of art.

Many Thanks.

Bah at split paw south most sphere I can do it but right when Im about to kill my first damn gnoll thingy I get rooted and die over and over 25 bard here

so do you circle around the southern most sphere? ive tryed at 23 and now 25 but i keep getting rooted or something casting a spell on me for 100+ dam any help on anotehr place to go ?

only tesch mas gnoll will give you safe xp there, other gnolls can cast
best thing to do is train 10 to 20 tesch mas away from spire, head SE from spires you ll be safe
when all down go back get another gnoll team :)

if you run it fully afk, try aviak city

At 25 I've been trying to circle in Maru Seru, but I die before I can kill first mob. So many mobs in train behind me that they eventually catch up with me whenever my Selo's misses on a note- I tried going down to Selos Bellow Bellow (only 2 bellows instead of 3) but that doesn't seem to work- still die out there. I'm guessing it's because by then there are 20+ mobs behind me and they just pile up. Any suggestions on zones I can do this in or areas for mid 20's where I can still AFK this but won't die? Thanks.

Well one thing you can do if you can get by this is get sow.

I am having a problem with the camp out after death portion of this. I have used both Redbot's from the first page of this post and Ridski's from page 22. When I die, I zone to bind point and continue to target the nearest mob but I don't camp. The only thing I can think of is the line "/keypress 9" in the GMcheck. Am I supposed to have something specific in hotkey 9? Even if I am, should the line in the GMcheck throw off the result of the "You have entered" check? I am just a novice at this so am I missing something too basic for me to see or am I way off?

/keypress 9 is where they have FM i think... which is /alt activate 212

Try this for your camp out
Rich (BB code):
#event slain "You have ben slain#*#"

Sub event_slain
/doevents flush
/camp desktop
/delay 25s
/endmac
/return

I'm getting random /q's. I am lvl20 kiting around in LOIO. After I kill between 2-5 mobs, it /q's for no apparent reason. Any ideas on that? If you need more info, please ask.

thanks

Maybe a GM /shrug. If you have a GM checker and it comes into the zone it will camp.

Don't think so, because it only does it when I try to use the comp for other things while the mac is running. IE, I try to surf on mozilla, etc.... confusing...lol. I'm getting a lot of EQ crashes to. after the mac /q's me, and i try to log back in, MQ2 causes EQ to crash. I think there is a bug somewhere.

I think you just gave yourself the answer to your problem. Does the macro fail if you don't do these things?

Could be a RAM problem. Not enough or bad RAM. I know my eq likes to crash when i put to much strain on the comp. LIke when i run 3 accounts on one comp. /shrug

Ok, so I have 0 programming skills, but I do have a fundamental understanding of computer logic, and a desire to learn. (Bought VC++ Step by Step). I would like to make this a snippet (.inc) file that can be called from any of my macros I currently run as well using /include corpserun.inc

Here is what I would like to do, if someone can help me figure out how to change english to code. Forgive me if this looks butchered. With the macros i normally run i have the following plugins loaded...
MQ2MoveUtils
MQ2Exchange
MQ2Bandolier
MQ2Cast
MQ2Twist
MQ2Eqbc
MQ2Piggyzone
MQ2Randomstuff

|Top section of code
/declare HuntZone as a string

|BEFORE GMcheck etc, as soon as macro starts
|This is just to store a variable that represents the zone you started in
|The variable set is prior to the looping macro
/varset HuntZone currentzone

|Call a sub routine at the top of the code after GM checks
|To verify we are still in the zone we want to be in
|i.e. we didn't die
/call CheckHuntZone

|Call a sub routine to make sure we looted corpse
/call CheckForCorpse

|Sub routine CheckHuntZone
|Check to see if a corpse run is needed
/sub CheckHuntZone
/if (${currentzone} != (${HuntZone})) {
/call CorpseRun
} ELSE {
/goto :start
/return

|Sub routine CorpseRun
|Essentially uses MQ2Piggyzone to get you back to your corpse
|And maybe loot it too
/sub CorpseRun
/zone ${HuntZone}

|Sub routine CheckForCorpse
|check inventory slot one to see if it's empty
|this is how it will determine if you have a corpse to loot
/sub CheckForCorpse
/if (${InventorySlot1} == empty) {
/target (${playername})'s corpse
/warp target
/call |the loot sub
}
/goto :start

Haveing some trouble with the circle. I got it working 2 times, the first it circled nicely then teh second time it just spun me in a circle. Now it wont do anything. Also I think i saw somewhere about a plugin that made yourun through trees? Your help would be apperciated. Iam on the progression servers and not many places but SF or BW to kite and the trees or the rocks get you.

Not sure why your having that problem Smason :( never seen a walkthru tree plugin but mabye thats just me... Also, does anyone know if this mac still works good? im leveling up a bard and am planning on trying it. From what i understand u spin in circles in one place in a zone and spin there all day kiting things?

also, the target macro seems to just do nothing. my targets staying on one target all the time ~ or did i misunderstand it? is it supposed to stay on one target until that target is dead? then switch to the next one ?

yes that is the general idea.. kill that one first then it moves to the next one.
this macro is great i still use it in 69.1 missions still use it in pov hoha and in forgotten halls. i think it works awsome.

pimp, anyone tried using it in vxed recently? Wonder if it still works with target1 mac and the warp loc

I had problems trying to use the macro from page 21 (22?) in vxed. When I hit DA, warped up, and started the macro, the circle that was suggested here bumped me into the torches just ever so slightly... that threw off the circle enough that I think I eventually hit something and let the kite catch up.

My real question is twofold... would it be realistic to combine the hoh kite mac from another thread with the specific information to use it effectively in vxed (i.e. the start loc, circle radias, and specific targeting information unique to vxed) without drastically changing the code?

and 2 ... this is just more for my information ... but if you're starting a circle, why is there specific directions from which you need to start in order for the kite to be started successfully? The whole "EXACTLY east" thing or "one tick to the south from east" just doesn't make sense if you're going to be starting a circle anyway. Does it have something to do with getting all the mobs following you faster/safer?

direction determines which way the circles going to run you so yes it helps alot, if your facing a different direction you have a chance to be running into a rock or torch or something like that. People find perfect circles and take the /loc and sense heading so they can post it so people can use it. Did you try editing the /circle on (num) to what fits you best, or so it doesnt have you running into the torch's ? The target1.mac shouldnt have any problems. It just switches to the next target if a stonemite is in your radius , since that summons.

Try this macro...

Also .. if you want to test /circle on , just /ghost on , or /nokos on , whichever plugin you use and warp to the location / direction and before every /circle , take the loc and direction... then circle on and see if its a perfect circle, if so .. take the numbers down and you should have yourself a kiting area there

Thanks bro, I'll probably try that a bit later on tonight...

... I thought of a couple other questions too while I was sitting around at work today.

1. I stuck this in the bottom of the original mac I was using for HoH...

Rich (BB code):
Sub PC Check

:check

/if (${SpawnCount[pc radius 500]}>1) {
     /echo Player is close...
     /echo Pausing the Macro until they leave...
     /beep
     /afk Making a snack, brb.
     /delay 2m
     /goto :check
}
/return

That looks like it'd be ok, except for a bard who's kiting a bunch of mobs with dots on them... I'm not so sure.

I think I might try this one out for myself, but do you see any really complex issues with me setting up a PC check where it stops the twist, waits 24 seconds while still moving (to make sure all dots are off the mob) and then fades... ?

It sounds relatively simple, and I should be able to piece it together from examples of other macros i've found around here... but if anyone foresees any complex parts... let me know.

... Secondly ...

I saw posts about running a vxed macro for 36+ hours straight. That means part of the macro has a built in function to get another mission once the 6 hours is up... zone you back in... and restart the macro by warping you up to the location and beginning the circle again. It seems to me like you'd run into the same problem with starting the circle in a particular direction if you ran a macro like this. I have to test this, but I would assume that tightening up the circle a little would allow you a bit more flexibility in starting the circle in whatever direction you wanted... because it gives you a bit more room between yourself and the torches...

... anyone ever see a macro with all of that task adding, zoning, and restarting the circle stuff included?

looks fine to me except that when u fade youll prolly just agro the same mobs over if they are kos and die(Unless you have a REALLY SLOW zoning computer). I have seen zone task adding macro's but it usually jsut gets you stuck in a wall, id suggest just zoning in manually every 6 hours ~

Ohhh... no no, not the MQ2 /fade command... I was talking about the bard fade (alt #212 I believe). I wouldn't have to worry about reagroing anything (assuming all my dots were done) because in hoh none of the mobs see invis in the area where I kite.

For a bard...

Rich (BB code):
Sub PC Check

:check

/if (${SpawnCount[pc radius 500]}>1) {
     /echo Pausing the Macro until PC leaves...
     /afk Making a snack, brb.
     /twist off
     /delay 24s
     /aa act 212
     /circle off
     /delay 5m
     /goto :check
}
/return

Should work...

Redcents appreciated

I havn't had a chance to try it again in vxed... busy with the gf and her mom and grandmother and such. I'll probably set it up tomorrow morning when I get up before I start hammering out this 10 page paper thats due this week.

I'll let you know how it goes.
