It's time once again to celebrate Summertime in game! Put down the fireworks and barbequed deliciousness—there is experience to be earned, rare spawns to down, and faction movements on, well, the move.

Starting July 1, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. PDT and ending on July 8, 2021 at 11:00 p.m. PDT, all Norrathians will be able to take advantage of 76% increase in experience gains, 76% faster rare spawns, and 76% additional faction movements (both gains and losses) on all servers!

All you gotta do is get out there and show your enemies what real fireworks look like!

Oddly enough it's based on 1976. A year the developers of EQ felt was "pretty darn good".

Please explain, the game was released in 1999 so maybe this is meant that they finished it in 1976? And we have anniversary events to celebrate the game itself every March on the date it was released.

The only reference as to why its celebrated is about the US and the US Armed forces is from 2010.

Brad McQuaid was born in 1969. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brad_McQuaid)

In 1976 he was 7 years old, which is the luckiest of numbers. The rest of the developers agreed that this made 1976 a "pretty darn good year".

Ah, ok thanks for that info. Wonder why they didn't go with 1993 the first time he played an online game.

but I will stick with the official announcement reason, would rather celebrate a nation than one person :)
