Well, this zone is a surprise. I took my Base team up to 130 in the first two starter zones and got access to Arcstone. I'm running a ToB Raid Equipt Warrior, Epic equipt Cleric, Bard, Mage, Shaman, Necro. All the non warriors had ToB mission equipment and armor and everyone has max AAs through ToB. We tore through the first two zones like a hot knife through butter. So, Team Arrogant went into Arcstone and proceeded to double invis and head off to the first Quest agent. To say we got our butts handed to us is an understatement. There are infinite++ see invis drakes that swarm like flies on, well, poo. Also corpses too, ours mostly. My bard could not mez fast enough and we kept dying. My cleric and shaman got us battle resses in the first three or four swarms, but eventually we just wiped. The zone layout doesn't help. After regrouping, I swapped my Bard for a 126 Enchanter and we crept around the rim and made it to camp. Do not take the "Easy" path. I'm not sure what's next, but this zone entrance is a doozey.

I just finished Partisan/Mercs in final zone and it's 10x worse. tons of SI plus you get constant 5-15 adds on invis break.. but at least you have the zone to yourself lol.

Challenge??

Just moving around the zone is a challenge with the waterfalls and vast distances! Im not a huge fan.

(is there any way to get from island to island other than swimming up the waterfalls?)

Go into the water fall. Face away from the land side of the water fall, look up, and move forward. You will slide right to the top. Do a 180 at the top and move into the pool of water at the top. Repeat 3 more times.

Navigating the waterfalls in Arcstone with a group of 6 is a bit painful. In fact, the whole zone is a pain to navigate. The other zones aren't much better for box teams.

I've now camped 3 toons at the first mission-giver in Arcstone (to set a campfire). I then have 3 mages around the zones (one at the zoneline from Arcstone to Relic, one at the zoneline from Relic to Vortex and one at the zoneline from Vortex to Labyrinth of Spite.

I now realise I should probably have placed one at Gwark in Relic but I'm going to see if I can just run down to him with lev on first (from the Relic/Vortex zoneline).

These probably won't help much when I do the Partisans in these zones but they should help for general navigation and mission runs, I hope. I've also heard that the last mission respawns (let's hope that continues!) so that will come in handy for a couple of toons I have that still need a couple of levels and their new AAs.

I can see DBG doing a fine trade in heroic mages!

I park my team at night at Gwork. We set our campfire there. We are bound at the Arkstone zone marker in West Freeport. So We can gate, and be at either Arkstone or Candlestick easily. With guild access and wizard port to the Grove, this give me easy access to 4 of the 6 zones and 3 of the 4 missions. Also, we campfire to Gwork, evac to the Arkstone zone line and zone right into the mask quest guy.

you can lev down to gwork from further up in relic. just /tar him and run each manually (avoid going to far east as there are some SI)

Yep - however I found out today that I misremembered. I have a mage at Gwork as well as at the Vortex zoneline. All cool. No need for one in Vortex as the run is so easy to Labyrinth of Spite.

I am seriously considering leveling a mage right now. lol

I really hate this zone! Somehow I fell under the world on the first island so I ended up on a layer of rock under the surface with the mob, died and couldn't get back to my corpse. So fun! lol

Does anybody know the exact mechanism of the storm bubbles? They seem to move around but I dont know if they are triggered by anything or what?

i leveled a mage persona on my bsts so when i get sor in june on riz / aradune i can just run the mage up the waterfall stuff manually then group coh. i will also gate it out swap back to bst then campfire back in to do missions.

the persona is basically naked with auto grant aa. im sure ill be fine

i think there should be portals in the zone that take you up the waterfalls but to use them they should require swimming to the top and using an item like how rof portals work. that way you have to do it once to see how much it sucks then you can just skip it.

So once you figure out which mobs see invis on the first island you can navigate it rather easily. any drakes called "Ash Drake" and "Firecrest" elementals see invis. I recommend taking a right directly out of the cave, heading to the edge of the island and then running to the lava waterfall that way. You bypass most of the mobs, Secondly lab of spite just kill all dracoliches and husks, you can easily slow crawl your way through the zone that way. The only issue i had with lab of spite is in the sewers the bats that are floating above head height sometimes agro and go up instead of down, that causes a train without lube. The only issues i truly have with this xpac are 1. the waterfall in arcstone, it's frustrating, but ultimately just an annoyance, my bigger grievance is Ruined Relic mission as you can only farm 1 set of collects inside of the mission and levetation has been disabled inside of it. And the storm feather area in vortex. It's just a tab overwhelming graphically. This xpac has been a challenge for certain. Those of us that can navigate and farm this xpac will be able to make money hand over fist. One last piece of advice. Go farm up some Skull of Null's and Ring of negations. It will make your time in Relic much more gratifying!
