Problem - Shot down before I got started

I followed the first tutorial video and downloaded the live server version. Installed and ran Macroquest2.exe and......nothing. No icon in the task bar, no process in task manager; nothing. Tried running as administrator to no avail. I'm running windows 10 with the latest patch if that makes a difference. I am unable to update as this is patch day and the update is not ready yet, but that should not stop the program from running at all, right? Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have any antivirus running? It might be blocking it somehow.

Make sure you don’t have an antivirus program blocking it. It should load the version from prior to patch but if you try to start eq it should say wrong version.

MQ2 won't work atm till it's patched

Wait until after 8pm EST tonight when we release the update. If you're still having issues I can help then.

You can also try the Test or Emu server versions, they can run alongside the Live version.

Thanks for the prompt replies. I will wait until this evening. Just like me to decide to do something like this on patch day. Well, what else was I supposed to do? Can't play the game....

Windows 10 also hide tray icons by default... check the notification area settings

I uninstalled, downloaded after the link was back up, re-installed and updated. Everything seems to be working correctly. My toes are barely wet and already I am in awe.
