Sabotage! (Hard) -- Easy 190+hp rewards

This is a nice way to get several 190+ hp/mana items, including a 190hp/mana charm, without ever killing a single mob.

Starting NPC: Calisar (Stoneroot Falls, Loc: 844, -1801, 9)

You need at least three people in the group for this task.

To start, either Hail Calisar and follow the dialog, or just say the key phrase "accomplish". He will give you four dampening stones. Make sure you do this on the character who will be doing the turn-ins, preferably someone with DA. Accept the mission "Sabotage! (Hard)." (If Calisar will not respond to hails due to faction, just say the key phrase and he will give you the mission regardless of faction. The same goes for Sintal below.)

Next step: Sintal (Stoneroot Falls, Loc: 740, -1631, 8)

Hail Sintal to update the task. Next, follow the dialog or simply say "ready" to be ported into an instanced version of the Hive. You will start on the living bridges with another version of Sintal.

At this point hit DA and run the macro below. It will open your bags, warp to each Summoning Altar, hand in each stone, then finally warp back to Sintal and say the phrase to leave the instance. After that, zone back in to hail Sintal and claim your reward.

A few things to note:
1. In the hard version of this mission, the mobs hit 1600+. Thats why using a character with DA is best. If you cannot use DA, I'd suggest at least using /docrack nostun and using the character who is most likely to survive a few of those hits.

2. Summoned Minions:
a) These spawn randomly during the mission following a zone-wide emote.
b) Some see invis, some do not. But they will auto-aggro anyone in the zone, including an SoS'd rogue. An exception to this would probably be a FD'd character (untested) but that should be irrelevant anyway since no one else should be inside.
c) They do not return to their spawn points. So if you leave a minion by the zone out, it will be there when you try to zone back in.

3. There is a 40-45 minute lockout between wins.

4. The zone-in is NOT safe. There is at least one roamer that wanders up to the zone in. The only person that should be in the zone is the one who will be doing the turn-ins, then whoever is going to go back in and check the chest for the final reward.

Now for the rewards!

--Hard Version--
Group reward (everyone in the group receives this)
Priest/Caster - Dripping Grimcoat Earring
Melee - Drachnid Exoskeleton Fragment

Chest Rewards (confirmed):
Crystalline Webbing of Avoidance
Crystalline Webbing of Gracefulness
Drachnid Candle
Molted Drachnid Chitin Pants
Silk Handled Hammer

--Normal Version--
Group reward (everyone in the group receives this)
Priest/Caster - Hivegrime Stone of Gracefulness
Melee - Hivegrime Stone of Swiftness

Chest Rewards (unconfirmed, source=Shaman's Crucible DoD progression page):
Blood Rage Voodoo Doll
Bloodforged Earring
Cocoon Skin Band
Stumpy's Stomp Boots
Tempered Hive Bracelet

I originally did this mission several times by warping around manually, and training mobs away, etc. I was planning to write a guide on how to do that when it dawned on me how much easier (and safer) it would be to just macro it. So I put this together tonight and have tested it a few times. Its working flawlessly for me, but if anyone has any problems, let me know. I used some snippets from kkmonte/Redbot's Bonechips.mac for the hand-ins and such.

Enjoy~

I'll test this here in a little bit. If this works you can expect to get buku red cents! Welcome to RedGuides!

I just attempted to get this mission with my lvl 70 SK who cons dubious to Calisar. The NPC just gives the standard "A talking pile of refuse, how novel" line, and does not give me the mission. I'm logging in my shaman who should have better faction to test it out.

Ack I didnt realize there was any faction required for getting the task. I've done a ton of DoD tasks and must have gotten the faction beforehand without realizing it.

I just got the mission with my main who is at amiable faction with Calisar. He was given the four stones needed to complete the quest. However, I did not want to warp around with my main. I had my SK say "more" to Calisar and he got the line saying that the NPC didn't want to talk to him BUT he still gave him the stones. I zoned in, clicked harmshield, and started the macro...

Let me be the first to say that this works like a CHARM! The mission was done in less than a minute! The macro zones you out without hailing Sintal in the Hive, so you'll have to zone back in to finish the task. This gives you plenty of time to taskadd your friends/bots.

This is absolutely spectacular!

Beat me to this, was going to make a write up on it tomorow night lol. I do this with an SK, without a macro. FD, target the altar you need to go to, have a /warp succor hotkey made in advance. Stand up, do turn in, press hotkey, FD. Stand up long enough to hit a HoT healing potion, FD, shake aggro, repeat for next altar. My sk is only 12k buffed, with defense AAs maxed. Takes the hits fairly well, will have bad run every now and again, though.

A charm,

had the same problems Moonspell had tho, but could circumvent it same way.
Well done.

PS, I wonder if there is a docrack with which you can do the mission without any warp.

I don't know if it would help, but maybe you could get the mission in the level 70 goblin rogue shroud and SoS from place to place.

I dont think you could do the SoS thing. The summoned minions that spawn randomly will come after a rogue even when SoS'd. Plus they would have to become visible 4 times to do the turn-in at the altars in some very crowded rooms.

Glad to hear its working for people!

While trying to find out some faction information, I came across a post that claims you can get the mission even without good faction. Simply say the trigger phrases to the npc instead of trying to go through the entire dialog.

Calisar --> "accomplish"
Sintal --> "ready"

If someone with bad faction can confirm this I'll add it to the guide above.

Confirmed,

Trigger key prasses work allways, independent to your faction.

How many times on average do you get hit. Im 9345 hp fully buffed and all my def aas but im bsty. Will i survive or do i need to make freinds? i have a 70 clr so maybe i can make it zone out every time heal then go back in? or does it reset?

I was thinking about doing a write up on this as well. However, since I was slow I'll just add something. :D
I've done this a couple times but since I don't know how to write a macro, I've just used the mad typing and hope for no spelling mistakes technique. Anyeay, here goes. Yes, you have to have at least indifferent faction to get this quest. My research has uncovered he's on Freetraders of Malgrinnor (sp?) faction. I've done a lot of the missions but I'm still dubious. If you sneak up behind him, he'll give you the Stones. Here's the other interesting thing I found out. You can keep on going back to him for more and more Stones. Since you can't DA on a rogue, its a pain in the rear to have to shroud to a rogue and then run back to have it removed. I stock up on them and then have a friend get the mission who is amiable I believe. This way I don't have to shroud every blasted time.
The first time I tried it with the rogue's hide/sneak. I promptly got my arse handed to me. No matter what form of invis a toon has, the altar "summoned" mobs will hunt you down no matter where you are in the zone!! The only thing that saves you is FD (and DA of course). However, I couldn't "turn in" the Stones while FD. Also I noticed that if you're FD when the "chanting" emote goes off, mobs will not agro even when you stand up. However, when the next emote goes off, they will all re-agro and come running across the zone, if necessary.
Ok, I'm done. I know this was long winded but I just thought I'd share what I'd learned from dieing a couple dozen times. :)

Clerics and Necros have two forms of invulnerability. Clerics have Divine Barrier and Divine Aura. Necros have Harmshield and Quivering Veil of Xarn.
All are 18 secs of invulnerability but the higher level versions have regen on them, at least the cleric's does.

Anyone have any others kinda like this? Even if its not mac'd the loot would be worth a red cent if you can do it manually.

Added in the faction stuff, and fixed the incorrect date (thanks Crystane!)

I guess my new years resolution should have been to remember it was a new year. =)

With a good rune (or rune combo) up and some mitigation, any class can do this (most times, occasionally you'll get unlucky in the number of hits).

I tried it four times. The first time, the macro went just fine, but a summoned minion spawned and when i zoned back in, it ate my lunch. After a few deaths, I gave up on the chest loot (probably coulda gotten it if I'd been willing to burn a DA charge (Shiny Brass Idol)).

Second time, I entered with "Ready" without hailing outside for the first step. Did the macro, hailed Sintail, then zoned out and realized I hadn't done the initial hail. Hailed him outside, but when I zoned back in, no chest. Oh well. Do it in order next time...

3rd and 4th I changed the end of the macro to /fade instead of saying "leave". This worked better for me. Immediately upon reentry to zone, /tar Sintail, /hail and then /tar wooden , /open, /loot.

Hella nice Charm in chest, last chest had lame 1hb.

I like this mission. :)

Macro is awesome, only problem I'm having is getting back and hailing for finish or to open chest and loot. My 70 Bst got creamed before he had even totally zoned in, I 3 box on 1 PC [am working on getting second up] then ran other 2 in to try and train away, same results LOL. Can you help with some warp locs to hotkey and train them away? Thanks for great macro, you got my red cent

[drachnidhive_70H]
zonein=244.03 473.95 166.22 166.73:

midbridges=333.06 888.97 245.62 221.55:

Here are the waypoints I was using when I was doing the task manually. One thing to note is that there are no mobs down on the floor initially, but they will warp/follow you down there sometimes. But even if they follow you there, you have tons of wide open space to kite until you have enough room to /fade.

Beautiful....absolutley beautiful (instructions and macro)...no problems at all...

If this keeps up where people will be posting DoD missions like this it won't be hard to find places to spend my red cents, lol -

Charm Item is nerfed to:

The candle can never be lit and despises any light but its own and will grant you more power the less fight you carry.

so the fixed Stats are gone

last night on this mission i got the earring from hard quest and the drachnid candle , also got the aug and the other earring frmo chest in normal quest

All in all my twink cleric went up around 500 hp and the same in mana ! not bad for 2 mins of work

Don't have a Rclickable item in one of your main inventory slots. Nothing like watching your toon try to cast levitation while 10 mobs bear down on him. :)

at the moment on my twink 70 cleric i get from the charm item

AC 10
STR 10 STA 10 CHA 10 WIS 10 INT 10 HP 161 MANA 161 Endurance 161
SVFIRE 12 SVDISEASE 8 SVCOLD 12 SVPOISON 8

and ive seen the hp/mana as high as 190 too

Dont some shroud forms get DA? Dont remember if you have to unlock them or not...

Been a while since I did a spell mission, but the other toons can just sit in stoneroot afk and still get the rewards on their cursor right?

Or do they have to be close to the NPC in Stoneroot?

toons can sit anywhere for the mission reward.. even guild hall

obviously for chest loot they have to be in stoneroot to zone in

8-)

Thats a very good point. I edited the macro to include a check to make sure there is a container in the slot before trying to right click it. Thanks!
