Maybe that was daybreak's plan all along... and we're falling for it :argh:

you couldn’t pay me to start over ... why people want to replay played-out 20 year old content is beyond me.

I’ll keep your seat on Live warm ... since everyone knows you’ll all be back.

I really like playing EQ Classic -> PoP/LoY/LDoN. I've never played past that (as it was current). I have tried a few/many time to play Live and just catch up, always to mixed results. EQ is a weird game where nothing is removed or pruned, just always added to. Thousands of AAs, many are activated, augs, power sources (which I still don't really even understand. I guess they don't last forever?), purity, luck, etc. I am sure if I stick to it long enough everything will eventually come together for me, but with the opportunity to just go back to a simpler time and maybe experience it all as it releases, can't pass it up (again. RIP Lockjaw fun times).

I know the likelihood of stick it out from Classic to current is slim at very best. but I can't help but drink deep that nostalgia tea.

Unrelated to anything, mostly.
I remember once upon a time needing a pool/birdbath thing to remove augs. I spent like an hour yesterday looking around places I thought I remembered them, so I could take augs out of my gear.
Turns out I didn't need it all along. Lesson learned.

If anyone wants to put a boxing guild together for this new tlp server send me a message and I can invite ya to the discord I just made. Can see what we have and can spend the next week or 2 figuring stuff out in there.

About 12 of us setting up a boxing guild! If anyone is interested message Agree37 or drop a post here. We are just looking to have fun and owning content!

im pretty sure both of these servers specifically state MQ not allowed and will be instant bans , if you guys really want to temp fate and box absured stupid amounts of toons to bring more heat towards macroquest community because of selfish greed by all means keep on pushing to ruined Macroquest gameplay for everyone.

even if its allowed on a server why push it ? with instantly proving to the server there is massive amounts of boxing ???????? just to much if you ask me but who am I to think logically.

Mq2 is not going to get you banned on these servers. Things like Going afk or warping will be you banned, things that for the most part isn't approved by the mq2 community either.

no but boxing 18 toons on a small ass tlp server going to bring heat to a macroquest community . you know good and damn well your not gonna box 18 toons for a hour or so each and not leave them up AFK to level - just common sence . just seems to much and costly but hey I don't wanna start over.

from the discord chat for the rizlona server, looks like everyone is boxing a crap ton of toons, mq2 or not. Plus most of the guilds i have gone to on discord for rizlona are also boxing 6+ toons for just about every single person, i dont think it is gonna be as stand outish as you are trying to make it.

I would say you'll find more people in the mindset of boxing here, on a forum about using tools to assist in boxing, then you would elsewhere. I bet there will be a good healthy mix of people boxing a couple characters to a whole group. Even some single and dual boxers who don't want to deal with all the (potential) drama of Aradune that seems to be already bubbling.

They don't. DPG never specifically mentions macroquest, or any tool, when stating policy. Ever. Not even on live. They don't want to be backed into a corner and want to make judgement calls as they see fit. They use general terminology like "automated", which they define as afk, and "unintended" (hacks, sploits, warps). But they were specific in saying the aradune would be truebox and that rizlona would not.

im just saying I think its selfish of people to out of the box put 18 toons in a camp and pretty much take the entire zone because they were only small zones back then. its selfish to instantly put a target on the macroquest community. to have 18 toon on a new TLP server Air quote - Its on to have on Rizlona - but not Aradune - yea ok. im just thinking of a Daybreak has finally left us alone and made conscious efforts with mule on back and fourth resolve of whats ok and what isn't I don't understand why people always wanna take things to the extreme.

AFAIK only one person mentioned having 18 boxes, and even then it may not be meant literally. As long as you're at your desk, actively playing you have nothing to worry about. If you've got the capital to play 18 characters, go for it. The only problem anyone will run into is running characters AFK. There will be dedicated GMs for at least 6 months according to the forum post. If someone is willing to risk AFK farming exp in Classic with dedicated staff checking for stuff, I am sure they won't be too sad getting reprimanded for doing the bad thing.
I don't believe anyone here would do that, knowing the rules and being a part of the community.

/Pick zones solve a lot of the issues of a single person monopolizing a zone. Agents of Change fix nearly all the issues of armies monopolizing raid content. At the end of the day it doesn't make much difference to the server if you play 1 or 100. These modern TLPs are designed to handle a lot of characters devouring content.

Hello all,

I've been reading the comments here and noticed some concerns about big boxers on the Riz server. While I'm taking part in the new Riz server with other people from this community and previously from Ragefire, I can assure you of things being discussed in our guild discord.

The very first thing we've discussed is upholding the MQ community and not putting up with any bad apple's. What does this mean? We will not be tolerating afk play nor any DPG "automaton" rules. Just like most of the concerns we have here we have there.

We've only advertised here and within the boxing community we converse with of said community. No posts on public forums have been made nor should they be.

Doing the right thing even when no one is looking. This is something we will be practicing, if it seems wrong, we shouldn't be doing it.

Each of us pretty much keep too ourselves anyhow. Those who've joined the discord, are all planning on staying out of the "sun" so to speak, and play behind the scenes.

Personally, I hold this community close, why? Not only have I made friends within this community, but the like minded individuals who not only enjoy the game, but like to see people advance/grow. We're all going through some type of hard times in life, and this community along with EQ has provided me with an outlet to truly escape.

I hope this helps some of those questioning the motives of the Riz Boxing guild.

Well said, thank you Fueil.

No reason to play only "behind the scenes" like second class citizens. You're boxing, attended, within the rules as defined by DPG, if anyone has a problem with that, F 'em. Doesn't matter if you box 2 for 20.

Question will IHC (https://www.redguides.com/community...asses-except-druid-and-necro-stay-tuned.1013/) work on tlp server. Or is it coded to only spells on live? Just curious if I should prebuild out low-level ini for my group now or just be lazy and leverage IHC if i can.

As far as I know it works at all levels. This is something I also thought of running, just so I wouldn't have to make a bunch of ini's, but I ended up doing just that lol.

Low level KISS Ini's would be very easy to setup, or run just the MQ2 melee.

I think this is less of a concern than you're worried about. Your typical 18 boxer is running separate 6 man groups in different zones, and only bringing them together for raid instances. I'm sure there will be some bad apples out there, but I doubt they'll be from the community conversing in this thread.

Sorry hope this doesn't feel argumentative. Wasn't worried about level, but the fact spells from original eq are not the same as live today. So is it going to check for spells that don't exist or can't be gotten until a certain level.

Not taken argumentative at all my friend, its a strong point no doubt. As I don't have that type of information, maybe ask @drwhomphd ? Just for some clarification?

IHC's low level support is improving. I have 12 characters I'm leveling up from scratch on live. I plan on spinning up a group on Rizlona and trying it out at least. IHC may have some low level growing pains as not all classes were tested thoroughly pre-85. The other edge cases I foresee are the fact that not all classes will have the ancient spell lines configured. I know one of Morisato's future pushes as IHC Maintainer is to make sure low level support across the classes is improved.

I agree, a lot of us have different schedules. Besides, I see no worries about having two different time zones. Gives us more flexibility across the board, and across the pond lol.

I really appreciate the work yall are doing in it. I've messed around with IHC a few times, and the times I have, I was really really impressed. A right out of the box no setup needed really is great!

What kind of information are you looking for? I'm no coder, but I don't mind spinning a group now and then.

Mainly just what may be missing abilities or not working. I doubt there will be much work doing specific designs for TLPs (mainly just want them good enough) but making sure there's just basic functionality would be good. There should be spell lines traced all the way back for all the casting classes but things may be pretty slim until later in the game. I will probably wait until June after my May Krono run out to pop a group together for Riz. Figured that'll give DPG time to work the bugs out. I like to play the classes I work on so I can test stuff out that I do (can't speak for the other IHC devs) so waiting will probably give a good idea where the class pain points may be.

You have obviously never played on a TLP when you claim they are small... and don't understand pick instancing, oh the glorious days on Phinny with 20 picks of lguk hehe.....

Basically what others have said, play nice, don't be a dick, you wont have a problem.

Aradune will have the most drama. The number of people planning on boxing more than two toons is laughable. It's the go to server for Krono farming, which many people do now for various reasons. The same people that mass boxed (bypassed Truebox) on Mangler will be bypassing Truebox on Aradune. The same people using automation on Mangler will be using automation on Aradune. The only difference this time will be their motivation to hide what they are doing, because of the dedicated GMs. If they discover people doing it on Aradune, I guess they also have the option to simply transfer all their toons to Rizlona.

The automation, bypassing Truebox, and active hacks on Mangler got really bad. I'm guessing this is the reason for the dedicated GM presence on both servers. However, GM policing will probably be more prevalent on Aradune.

As for Rizlona, Dreamweaver already openly stated that unintended activity (such as warping) and automated (100% afk) are against the rules, but using software to assist in boxing is not. The chat from EQ discord was posted somewhere here on RG. Using MQ2 while you are actively at the keyboard playing, will not get you banned.

/pick numbers have changed over TLP releases and are currently sitting at 20-30 for dungeons and 30-60 for open world zones. Sol A:20, Kedge Keep:20, Lower Guk:30, Sol B:? (20 or 30). It also takes less than these numbers to keep a pick open, but new picks will not pop until all picks have the required number in them. With the Release of Kunark on Mangler, there were 22 picks of Sebilis. People boxing 12-24 toons will simply push more instances. With all raid content duplicated behind AoCs, everyone can have their own raid instances with just six toons required to pop them.

People mass boxing will not disrupt the server.

Do you think DBGs will dislike someone paying for 30 active accounts on Rizlona? They will be elated.

There were people 72 boxing on Mangler and nothing was ever done to them and it was a truebox server . . . so went directly against the rules of the server. I think it fairly safe to say those people didn't have 72 computers running their toons. Rizlona is set up so people can do that without breaking the rules.

Right now we have two new TLP servers, starting at the same time, with opposite rulesets. There is a place for everyone. I really don't have much patience for people complaining because they can't box more than two toons on Aradune, or people complaining about mass boxers on Rizlona.

Choose the server which best fits you.
