RedGuides Launcher (2 Viewers) 1.1.0

No permission to download
the macros only populate with items you are "watching" and the plugins only populate with "paid plugins that you own"
So it can manage that for you? How? For instance I use IHCMercs and MQ2Berzerker and every update ever I have had to go find the thread they are updated on, manually download and unzip whatever file, and try to remember what folders everything goes in. Then I move them. Then I have to go start everything in game again. I have cheat sheets for my cheat sheets to try and keep it all straight.

I'd hit the update button to the right of latest version. It'll take you to 2069. But also, lol. Likely just needs to update the launcher.

What is going on with the date? lol

That issue is caused when you use an old version of the launcher.

Go to settings,
1576969171566.png

then "check for updates"
1576969190555.png

Depending on how old your version of the launcher is, the automatic update may fail. In that case, you'll need to manually re-download and install.

It didn't update to latest version so I updated manually and doing so deleted my profiles, maybe more.

If you're not going to use the launcher, be careful when copying .ini files from the zip over your own folder.

Now I gotta remember what ones I owned again. I did find one and hit the watch button on the forums here. ACK!! Change!! Runaway!!)))

All the ones you had before are included automatically, there's nothing you have to do to retain the plugins and macros you've always used.

I wont be re-upping this is horse shit.
sorry to hear that PQ2 - is there anything i can do to help you out? I've remoted in for a few folks to get them fixed up and i'd be happy to do the same here

HERE i made a quick video helping too

Thanks guys for all the hard work, works perfectly now... have full functionality!

Keep up the good work!

when i hit the update button it just closes. no matter what i do =(
After you open the launcher, give it a minute to load everything. Then go to your "settings" tab and make sure you have a folder selected that you have write access to. If it all looks good, go back to the Very Vanilla tab, wait a minute for everything to load, and press "update"

click the Refresh button on your plugin page

(Running 1.0.41) Tried yesterday and today re-installed everything. The plugins and macros windows remain empty. Clicking "Refresh", it shows activity in the progress bar, says it downloaded some stuff, and says it was done (same as yesterday). But nothing is listed in the box... it's all black. Tried clicking various places in case just a display issue, but response. Have waited some time, and still empty. Do have some plugins and macros marked as "watch" on the website. Thanks for any suggestions.

Only extra macros and plugins show up. All the Very Vanilla plugins and macros you've grown to love are already included in your folder and will never be listed in the launcher.

You have exactly 3 resources on your watchlist:
  • MQ2Nav. This will not show up in the launcher because it's a default Very Vanilla plugin. It's already in your folder, have a look.
  • Skills.mac. This resource has no downloadable file. Resources without any files will not show up in the launcher, because there's nothing to download.
  • GoTeek.mac. This resource has no downloadable file. Resources without any files will not show up in the launcher, because there's nothing to download.

All nav meshes gone, EQBC GONE. ETC. sorry BUT EASE OF ACCESS SHOULDN'T BE HAVING TO RELOAD AND CONFIGURE EVERYTHING AGAIN. Breaking from everquest for the weekend, it might just not be for me to understand but why change what was working properly imo?

Watch Sic's video. If you have used launcher in the past uninstall and reinstall if it acts weird. I had to. In the long run it should be a lot easier to keep things updated. EQBCS is a check box on the launcher.

I have the new Update Launcher, I notice when eq loads it no longer has the MQ/ Kissassist box? What i mean is there used to be a box theat basically showed what was casting, gave dps, and told you when macro was on or ended. It was on each screen and on the load screen. I do not see that any more? Is there a way to see dps still? and is there a way to see when a macro is on? Thank you

I run the launcher, and it hangs on the Login screen for a few moments before crashing with no error message.
In my event log, I have the following events.

Ran RevoUninstaller to uninstall RedGuides Launcher and rebooted.
Performed fresh install of RedGuides Launcher. Failed to work.
Disabled EQBCS Service, and repeated ALL of the above steps to put me in a clean state. Failed to work.
Repaired .Net Framework 4.5. Failed to work.

At this point, I'm a little stumped as to why it's not running. It appears to be hanging on authentication, but I'm not getting any further log details to assist me in troubleshooting the cause of the problem.

Go to the settings tab. Does the location match your existing mq2 folder location?

Watch this video please,

What version of Windows are you running? What antivir? What's your default browser?

Is there anything unique about your home network? Try disabling windows firewall temporarily

Hello Redbot,

Windows 10 v1803 (damn thing won't let me update to 1809 and won't explain why)
For the purposes of troubleshooting all AV/AM was uninstalled.
Chrome - current version

It's definetly a driver issue with something. Kernalbase.dll handles drivers. If I perform a regsrv32 KERNALBASE.DLL I get an error "The module 'KERNALBASE.dll' was loaded but the entry-point DLLRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that 'KERNALBASE.dll' is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.

I am currently performing a DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth command (finished while typing, came back healthy, so I know my SFC /SCANNOW is working).

Now I just have to uninstall drivers and stuff until I find the driver causing this issue. I started with my Nvidia driver and just updated to the latest version, still happening.

Do you click "login" and it crashes, or does the crash happen without clicking anything?

The issue is that you're running an out-of-date version of Very Vanilla. Go to the Very Vanilla tab in the launcher, and press "Update"

Happens without touching anything.
Switching default browser to IE11, or Edge, from Chrome, has zero change.

I logged into a local admin account on my PC, and was able to run the launcher however, and it prompted me to grant permissions (opened IE11) to allow me to login.
So it's something in that functionality on my regular user profile (yes local admin) that's broken.

I read through your messages. Sorry you are having the issues you are. Based on what you have presented, this almost sounds like a corruption in the user profile that you normally log in to. Based on the error messages its failing when trying to open the stored token data that is stored inside the user profile folder (normally this will be c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\RedGuides\ResourceManager). This is also the folder where the application keeps the list of currently installed resources and versions. The process that handles the storage, retrieval, and encryption/decryption of the tokens is done with .Net standard 2.0 and requires a minimum runtime version of .Net 4.6.1 to be installed. On Windows 10 this should already be present, and if not Windows 10 should prompt you to install it. That along with the knowledge that it runs ok on another profile leads me to believe that .Net would be the issue here, and likely drivers are not either. I would check the permissions on the local app data folder, and try to determine if anything is keeping applications from writing to these folders.

WoW...

Ok so there were 2 folders in AppData\Local for RedGuides. I removed both, and this appears to have fixed it.
These folders are not removed when you run an uninstall, and RevoUninstaller does not detect them either for some reason.

I should have known to check appdata.

r1pt1de updated RedGuides Launcher with a new update entry:

Fixes from comments

  • Updated the Install/Update button on the relevant tabs to be Install/Update/Reinstall based on the current status of a given resource
  • Sorting on the Plugins and Macros pages now sorts in the following order from top to bottom
    • Installed, but not up to date
    • Not Installed
    • Installd AND up to date
  • Admin rights should no longer be required to edit files in the MQ2 directory if it was installed in the default folder as determined by the launcher...
