get this error, no luck installing

@Connie
Hrm it shouldn't error like that, I'll add it as an issue.

In the meantime, your Very Vanilla path seems to be your EQ folder, which isn't a good idea. If you change it you won't get an error.

I think I have a minor problem with Redfetch in that, for historic reasons, I have 2 entries for licenses for MQ2Druid. One is expired and one is current.

I don't see a way to delete the expired one but Redfetch seems to be checking licenses and acting differently now - when it sees it, it doesn't download updates to MQ2Druid like it used to.

I can get around it by manually downloading MQ2Druid but it would be nice to have Redfetch see the current license and act on it (or, if we can delete the outdated, expired license so that it doesn't case a problem, that would work too!)

Small thing and probably a rare case, I know ... sorry!
this is the same issue I am having just worded differently. @Redbot knows and he is working on it. but he has a long list of things to do.

aah so it's when there are two licenses for the same resource? that is a scenario I didn't consider!

In my case, yes. I messed up the first time my license expired and created and paid for a new one. Glad to see I'm not the only one! :)

It's not anything urgent. I can get around it by manually downloading MQ2Druid - but it's a mild inconvenience!

I have a possibility fof a fix. Just waiting for @Redbot to tell me if I'm right or wrong lol

So i use to use mq2 before the change over a few years back now , tryin to get back into it and installed the terminal thing , set it as shown but when i use redfetch it opens a window briefly and closes with no error or anything , and trying to update via the mq2 button to update with redfetch it says it cant be found.

Any help would be appreciated , be as blunt as needed lol - checked all permissions - not seeing anything else im aware of that i can tinker with

I am sorry this might seem dumb. But how are you trying to run it?

I am still getting this error. Is there something I can try on my end?
Any status updates?

Yah I don't know what this is. I'm guessing it is redfetch related, so not directly to the patch itself. I shot red a message about it

Redfetch wont launch when I have an eqgame.exe file on my desktop. (I made a copy incase I did an oops with this optional patch they pushed yesterday). It pops up saying that my Very Vanilla path contains eqgame.exe and it definitely does not. As soon I moved the copy of the eqgame off the desktop it launched fine. Not a big deal. And I love the new redfetch. Let me know if you a copy of the error report would be useful. But its basically the same as what Connie has posted above.

I have tried double clicking the redfetch icon , and through the mq2 tray icon
Wondering whats holding blocking yours from Installing?
I finally DL'd Redfetch, felt straight forward except install, Norton initially blocked/halted it...but then said its safe and went on thru 😄.

On another note, old habits die hard, i fired off RG Launcher to get on today 😆

Hi All,

Today I updated Redfetch and then loaded MQ2. My Cleric, Chanter, and Bard CWTN plugins loaded fine but not my CWTN Eskay and Mage . For those the error message said they were built for the April 14th update.

Appreciate knowing how I can update these plugins to the current version.

Thanks,

Dysanor

howdy dysanor - i merged your redfetch question into the redfetch thread

unfortunately there is currently an issue with redfetch when you have multiple licenses (and one being expired), this happens when someone purchase a new license instead of renewing and then they have an expired and an active one.

I just went through your licenses and got rid of your expired ones.

sorry for the trouble, hopefully we'll have redfetch fixed soon - there's been a bunch of moving parts lately

but if you run redfetch again, it should pull all your stuff

@Meyrr is this current issue with redfetch what you experiencing?

i went and deactivated your expired licenses as you also had multiple of the same license (some expired and some not expired)

Copy. I see that. Thanks Sic//

Redfetch generates errors
go into settings and clear download cache. I dont think that will fix the error but gotta try. you can also try to uninstall redfetch and reinstall it and see if that works.

it looks like you have an antivirus, firewall, VPN, proxy, school/work network that is stopping it from working.

I dont know your set up but thats the best I can come up with off the top of my head.

Yeah - my router is a 5G router and appeared to be blocking downloads from the site. With a VPN there's no issues.

Sic can you do this for me as well please..
I have same issue with redfetch and Im sure my subscription mess probably worse

Thanks

Had some issues with installing it because I manually ok things in my firewall. I think it could use some retries on the download parts to give a few seconds for a connection. Now I can't run it because it failed on the install, even after a reboot. Hopefully I can delete it and install it in another folder or drive now that it's allowed in the firewall.

Wow, this is new. RGL was throwing fits. What does redfetch (not AutoLogin) use the EverQuest Live directory for (RGL never cared)? I have different directories, does it matter? Setup process prompted for a Live directory (skipped) and did not ask for Test or Emu.

Iirc, at least one of the reasons is to help ensure people aren't installing mq into their eq directory since that can cause all sorts of hard to troubleshoot problems.

Redfetch has a lot of subtle yet important quality of life things

My initial install got interrupted, now when i click redfetch, the prompt window opens for a second then closes before it can do anything. Have tried deleting and redownloading and running as admin. Any ideas?

Thanks!

you should try and avoid running any random stuff on the internet as admin :p

have you rebooted? if not start there.
I'd also check you're antivirus to ensure nothing got "seized"

you might be able to do something like open "%APPDATA%" and then navigate to \AppData\Local\RedGuides and nuke that stuff

You right!

Tried restarting and deleting the \AppData\Local\RedGuides.

Still opens and closes instantly :(.

I was able to download the "old school" way.
