• Hail, we're RedGuides. We want you to play six (yes, 6!) EverQuest characters at once. We have scripts and a friendly community to help, please join our playstyle and say hello! 👋
  • We've added LLM sections to our Terms & Rules and Resource Rules, for everyone's sanity & in-game safety.
    a. Do not replace your voice with an LLM. This goes for your posts and your scripts. Drafting and editing with a tool is fine, but don't take you out of what you share.
    b. Do not replace your EQ character's voice with an LLM. We don't want scripts that speak over /ooc, /shout or other public channels. This has been an unwritten rule that's kept casino scripts off the site for decades, but we're now compelled to make it clear: keep automated communication private.

    Why Does RG Review Scripts?
Nearly every LLM-written Lua script we see is making your character do impossible things, and rarely in a way that's beneficial to you. We've seen heavy server hammering, /target over impossible distances when /nav spawn would passively accomplish the same thing, a spawn search that fires 20+ times per second, and other pointless actions that are likely annoying GMs.

You are welcome to use LLMs as a tool to structure, draft, and edit your work, but please read critically before hitting /lua run

This is absolutely amazing! Love the interface and the nod to RP. The old-school vibe feels right at home for an EverQuest utility. Apparently terminal windows are controversial now, but I’m here for it. 😂 Nice work, Redbot!
why go back to terminal window? This feels like a step backwards but it works.

If you hate how it looks you're in luck, I'm getting pretty close to silent updates so you won't even know redfetch exists.
Lame, what the actual F...ya'll...came back from a short vacay and my launcher is gone....this texty crap is whack
This is amazing. The MUD-style interface is really exciting. It’s the kind of cool UI I’ve dreamed about.
Awesome, love this! Super helpful with my non VV compile!
The UX is honestly attrocious. I can't believe the usable redguides launcher has been deprecated by this vibe coded buggy crap.
So not happy with the complications. Click and forget is what we pay for really. Now a million questions and decisions - do I have to download the plugins and install them? this was done so neatly before. Ok so give it some time and maybe its all ok but initial thoughts are not positive. Why change? redguides launcher was so cool and very easy to understand.

Nope, you just press the big button and everything's updated. There are fewer clicks and decisions.
I’m one of those who just closed the installer and built MQ2 from the sources ?.
The choice of language and the visual style might not appeal to everyone, that’s for sure.

What’s really interesting, though, are the technical aspects — they make you think about possible solutions for the future. For example, I’ve used similar techniques for Windows UIs with modern GPU shaders, creating nice, dynamic interfaces, and I wonder if this kind of approach could become a solution for tomorrow.

The main thing is that the developer had fun creating this installer — and that really deserves some encouragement! ?

I don't think updating a lua script calls for GPU shaders, but that's just me.
Confusing, difficult on the eyes, feels like a downgrade from RG Launcher

So good
This thing is pretty cool and very easy to install. Awesome install startup interface too, really took me back!
Redfetch is an absolute triumphant delight. Flexibility and adaptability for past, present, and future needs of the RG community. Kudos.
Wow, that install experience was fantastic! Thanks Redbot.
