Anyone else having issues with The Hatchery Macro all of a sudden not making the bard sing. Having to activate the bard song manually. Used the macro several times in the past, never has this particular problem before. Song is in the first slot as it should be, Bard string instrument skill is actually relatively close to cap (which is the skill the song uses). Have a String instrument focus on the armor they're wearing. Everything else is working properly except the bard activating the song. Something change in a recent patch? I'm not running any other macros on the SK or Bard, so there's no interference there. Suggestions and/or questions welcomed.

Followup: Problem Solved...Plugin MQ2Twist wasn't loaded. turned it on and it's fine now

I've made at least 6 "throw away" bards to level up alts before. this is the first time MQ2Twist didn't load by default. So it wasn't an obvious fix for me.

I'm giving this thing a shot, I need a 50'ish Bezerker for my 5 person box group. What's the recommended level for the Bard? Lvl 2 doesn't work - 100% resists; Lvl 6 doesn't work - 100% resists.

if you use very little DS on your tank toon until your PLees get higher lvl its much better since you have a limited time frame before they're all dead.

I usually take toons over 20, however

I believe around level 15 is the sweet spot. Mobs are lvl 23-24 IIRC?

Sic is right, you can do it lower if you wanna put it up with resists at first. You can get your Bard to 15 using Red Wine with minimal time/effort.

If you didn't wanna bother with the Red Wine quest, you could also just use Throw Stone on the Berserker to hit some of em. It won't take too many to start gaining levels.

Robban, that's another fantastic tip! Thank you. I looked into that a bit more, but didn't have a wizard or druid with enough AAs for the teleport to bind. But that's something I'm going to look into. I did follow other's suggestions about having the Bezerker melee, and that seemed to do the trick. You had to be quick and try and hit as many mobs as possible but even at levels 7 and 8, I was able to hit a few and start gaining levels.

I started mine with a 12 bard, gets like two levels from the first run, then smooth sailing from there. Also, if you check out the tutorial.mac I'm about to post, this will get you to 12 in the tutorial.

I had a few issues with the downloaded version and made some adjustments. Just thought I would share it if anyone wants to give it go.
Thanks! Trying this out now. I found I had to tweak the original one because like others I found that sometimes the high-level character would zone first. I just changed one thing and fixed that, but I also think it waits for a tad too long to start twisting with the bard.

Yes, same issues I was having. Addressed them both as well after wiping the sk a couple times and then watching mobs drop on the ground poof before the bard started to attack. :)

Wow! 12 is definately the sweet spot. Things turned up quick after that, and my bard and PL'ee are both in the low 20s in just a few runs. Thanks, everyone for the assistance.

I always start mine at 20, I use the redwine/bonechip macro to 20 cause its easy and i find my tank has less mobs die at that point.
