IRL - Questions about KA

Long time listener first time caller.

I have returned to EQ for the 2nd time over the years, completely lost my OG account and it was so long ago i couldnt recover it. My last time playing was around 2015 with some work friends. I have noticed the game isnt very low level player friendly(on live). Does KA function well with mercs? I currently only run 4 accounts 2 paid 2 free but have hit a lull around 79 and just started powerleveling alts. I do enjoy playing the game but alt tabbing 4 accounts has become brutal at higher levels. Currently i have only been running a 3 box BRD/DRUID/(MAGE/SK) with journeyman healer/caster and apprentice tank merc. I truly am not beyond getting 2 more accounts if it works better with KA, pc can handle the extra load with no issues. Just trying to decide a path forward my before I dive head first into KA, I have an addictive personality when it comes to boxing(I boxed 10 accounts in wow pre broadcasting ban).

I use it with mercs and it's totally fine. You can even set when to tell the mercs to attack for that character.

Cool thanks for the info, was just browsing through some older post and i think the thing most pulling me too KA is turning off looting on the boxes. Thats my biggest headache when alt tabbing 4, theres always a loot window in my face when swapping toons.

I use a combo of sometimes just using ISBoxer and manually broadcasting to my 4 boxes or using KA to automate things. Depends on my mood. I generally don't mess around with healing toons so most of the time you will catch me running one to two healer mercs. I would run more toons but my computer processer is not so good - So 4 toons is my max right now. But yes. Use and abuse those mercs. Also, you don't have to bother with pesky J5 upgrades on mercs. They revamped the mercs to be all J5 moving forward.

Even with the amount of characters you have, KA will provide an abundant amount of extra utility. You'll be able to focus on one character more and not have to micro manage everything for everyone. Plus some really nice extra items like "/travelto group ZoneX" etc. which add big QoL improvements.

Thanks sic, sadly i've already messed with this. To keep ISBoxer broadcasting working i need 5FPS background. With the toaster i am running right now all i manage is 4-5 toons.

The answer here is clear.
If trading ISBoxer nets you dudes, dont look back.
If/when you learn how to properly automate, you rarely need to see another screen but your driver. It has a learning curve, but you eventually crest it.

No, he is saying ditch ISBoxer to gain more toons. I get what he means. but I like ISBoxer as a backup. My hotbuttons are set up for mashing/broadcasting in ISBoxer. I don't play all that much and I have no desire to run raid instances. With my 4-5 toons I can manage all the group stuff. Some missions are just dumb and I hate running them anyway. *Cough* Hero's Forge *Cough*

I mainly use KA to keep me buffed and keep DPS steady. I don't run any LogParse or Gina for alerts when spells drop so I have to keep things running manually if I don't use KA.

I have simple goals. I just want to run a single group in ISBoxer at 60FPS. Need a better processer/computer. It's all good. Don't want to derail post.

I did start up a 6 box and went through the set up/guide videos, i just have a rogue being wierd and a healer that buffs but doesnt seem to want to heal. Rogue just randomly started walking instead of running, now when he goes into attack hes ducking and jumping. The healer just didnt want to heal, but i think i fixed that with the syntax of the heal spell|percent. I was putting a space where it wasnt needed. Just trying to test drive it with low characters before i move on to actually having abilities to configure
