Guide - NOS - Mean Streets-Cut Off the Head-Achievement

Ok, this is a good strats to get Cut Off the Head Achievement.

My crew was SK, Shammy, Mage (must have), Necro, Cleric, and Bard.

1) Part 1: First thing is to get rid of the second thug on each of the four corners, without killing the Jaka dude.
This is what I did to get this part done:

Block mage DS off all my toons and pets.
I place a shammy close to the bridge, with the Sk kind of the middle distance, enough to be able to leech Jaka dude.
I place the rest of the crew way south down into the bend on the south of the bridge. in the tunnels. I made sure everyone is paused.
The mage has the mem group CoH.

SK pulls the thugs, just using visual agro, do not hit any of them, make sure the SK is paused and targets himself.
Pulls them back to the shammy, once there one will poof either by your belt or the shammy slows.
Once this happens, hit your button to have the mage group CoH you and the SHammy.

Button 1:
/dexecute yourmagename /cast call of the heroes

Do the two bottom ones. Rinse and repeat what you did the first time.

Hint, to do the second pair on top, I go under the bridge and walk all way to the other side, no one sees invis down there. Bring your shammy and repeat what you did on the first two.

2) Part 2: You want to kill two fake Jaka dudes, you want to pick the ones that do not have two of them in one spot.
This time rush in with only the shammy in a chase and kill the fake Jaka. Once he dies hit the CoH button. Your group can be standing on the bridge kind of close to the quest dude, just south of him.
Make sure everyone is paused, except shammy and SK. Do this two times to kill the fake Jaka dudes.

3) Part 3: This is the fun part. Need to make these buttons. Button two is insurance if anyone gets stuck. Do not include your SK and DO NOT INCLUDE your MAGE. The mage does only one thing in the whole event, and that is to Coh.
Also, the place mage is just south of the quest dude on the bridge and he stays there the whole time at this point of the event.

Button 2:
/dexecute toon1 /nav id ${Me.ID}
/dexecute toon2 /nav id ${Me.ID}
/dexecute toon3 /nav id ${Me.ID}
/dexecute toon4 /nav id ${Me.ID}

I use Bard invis is fast and easy.
Button 3:
/dexecute yourtooname /alt act 231

This is to remove invis for the whole group.
Button 4:
/dgzaexecute /makemevisible

I also created 4 nav points for the SK, that way he can get to the Jaka dudes, I just use the Nav UI to him around.
Created 4 nav points where the Jaka stands.

Have everyone in chase mode except for the Mage and Sk.
Now located the fake and the real, most likely they are going to be in the same spot. Kill the fake one first, if the second pops you need to find him and /Nav to his location.

Ok, you must pay attention now.

You must CoH each time if you need to move to a different location. You must be (SK) paused and target yourself before you get CoH.
After you get CoH, Bard invis the whole group and go find the Jaka dude. This whole time, your group is chasing you around invis. Once you engage the Real Jaka,
/makemevisible Do not ever target the thugs, if you do this right you will only have one thug at a time.

When Jaka gets to 22%,7% I pause the SK and target myself at this part. Make sure you have a dotter, dot the hell of the Jaka dude. That will buy you time when he poofs.
My necro died every time Jaka (summoned) poofed, but I rez him back and he did his duties, kept him busy till the group got there, the dots will cause a summon and buy your group time to reach him in time.

This works very well and gets intense when you CoH and try to find Jaka.

Please let me know if this helps.

ARGHH!!!! this achievement is impossible to box... Seems on the first warp of the real one, that's when all hell breaks loose.

This last few times, he warps and then insta-summons the tank. Which, the tank dies fast when all the support is still running there. Tried going double heals to slow down the chance of accidental DPS hits on the thugs. That didn't work either. Not sure what is happening, but even with tanks back turned on the thugs, one accidental hit and then it's chain summon city.

Fucking hell! Anyone on BB server selling TAs at this point? Will buy 6

There has to be an easier way to this. Lately, what I've been doing is re-request the instance until I get a good starting position. (real is at spot 1)

- Kill off the 3 fakes.
- CoH group to the bridge.
- run to spot 1 to engage the real. During which my mage usually dies once from an illusion popping on him. Will campfire him back before the first warp though.
- Once he warps, I CoH group. Usually having some panic moments after to pause everyone and call back the group as they seem to want to run back to re-engage the thug that was aggro'd.
- After that's under control, invis and try to run back. (Last 2 attempts his first warp has been from spot 1 to 4. Longest run possible. Two results have happened from this. One, I died due to mishaps on some toons still paused after re-engaging. Some didn't get invis'd or it was dropped along the way. Two, ran out of time trying to do all of this and run to spot 4.
I beat it basically using this strategy. I kept my bard with the mage just to simplify the COH/Invis portion. They always died once from illusions, but also just campfire'd them back.

For me the important thing was just making sure my hotkeys were on point. There is just enough time to get up to spot 4, but you gotta start running right after the CoH. So it's CoH, hit the invis+bard speed key, and haul ass.

Probably the most annoying achievement in the last few expansion. I tried other methods but this is only one I could get to work, and it still took more attempts than I care to admin publicly.

Seems like a couple of things have changed on this mission.

1) Agro on Jaka and the thugs have been reduced.
2) Jaka cannot spawn on top of another image. When he swaps, they actually swap places.
3) Fake Jaka has a lot more Hp now.

I don't know if you've gotten this - or given up on it - or just continue to hate it (I know I do) - but two things:

A) the patch next week is supposed to make "the illusions on Jak dispellable as they were always supposed to be" -- whatever that means.
and
B) as specific help for the "tank gets summoned and dies while waiting for support to show" -- if you can set up your cleric to have "Keep HoT up on tank" ... and keep the group HoT memmed... that can be a minute or two of big heals ever 6 seconds that continue for a good while even when you're stuck on your own.

I don't know if either of those things will change anything for you... but as a fellow sufferer, I wish you the best =)

Use a Beast pet or mage pet to tank the Thugs on the bridge(pets seem to mitigate the dmg very well) and separate them out of the main group with a healer. Main tank pulls thugs to bridge as normal and one is banished and one then is slowed and the beast pet takes over. Rinse repeat till you have 4 thugs at the bridge. Then move forward with mission and make sure pets tanking back at least mid span. Illusions and fakes are only thing that may have changed but was able to tank them in their spots. Have real at spot 4 and tank him there the rest of the way. Once your illusions spawn you may have to deal with them at the bridge but the beast himself can aggro them back to group or can kill them where they stand. Have done with a rouge and beast killing illusions while tank has healer at 4 and beast pet and healer on bridge.

The first phase, when you have 3 fake Jaks and a real Jak, be sure to wait for a swap before engaging the next fake. You don't have to keep them on agro to avoid a reset as long as at least 1 fake is alive.

When you are finally fighting the real Jak, slow dps so that you don't get overrun with Flickering Illusions and tigers. When the 3 illusion spawn at 35% and 7%, send 1 person to kill them while the tank holds the boss. The 3 illusions have super low hp and killing them will unlock the boss HP and prevent a warp.

suggested Strat:

Class Priority: Mage

1/ locate where the ral name is. your positioning on where to place the mage is dependndant. if the real name is in spot 2 or 3 then u dont kill thier spot leaving 2/3 (depending with 1 and 4. this will give u a guide where to positon your mage so if the final boss is at 4, then your mage should be south side. if its in spot 1 then up north east.

kill first 2 fake aagroing as many thugs. once the first 2 are dead then have your mage coth u leave 1 fake and real

rince and repeat and win

Ok, this is a good strats to get Cut Off the Head Achievement.

Thank you for this write up! It's largely how I ended up getting the achievement!

The only part that wasn't plain to me was the 22% and 7% Illusions. I was used to my mage running around to kill them. I didn't realize they despawn when the real Jack replaces one. Once I understood your strategy better, I just waited for the swap and then it was just a matter of getting a COH and quickly running to re-engage.

When I tried to kill the illusions with the mage then the thug would aggro and kill the mage.

My biggest failure over and over was my characters would try to run back to re-engage the left-over thug after the COH. I think that's a "feature" of the KIssAssist automation and your exhortation to pause the macro, then the MA targets himself and then does a /switchnow command was the saving grace there. Although I found that if I would COH a long enough distance it was better.

Ultimately, I didn't win until I got a real player to play my cleric and spam heals and cure the Bleeding Cut dot. So I had automation running on 4 chars and 2 real bodies. The cleric bought me the time I needed to deal with timing issues.

The other big win was having 2 chars very quick on AE slow to bane the extra thugs and tigers.

I am very happy to hear this.
Everyone boxes are different so Its hard to do it the same way, but I found this method very repeatable, and I guess that what counts, lol.

Question about this achievement can you poof the one thug at each location or does that count as killing? Because I swear I didn't kill any of the thugs only proofed them and didn't get credit for the achievement.

You can bane them and not break the achievement

Finally got this one done. Took a hybrid approach.

My team is SK/Shm/Bst/Brd/Zerk/Zerk
Dropped one Zerker slotted in Mage for COTH.
Had Shaman and Bard setup to both use AOE slows for bane.

Position 1:
Cleared Fake Jak banned one Thug used mage for COTH to clear aggro.

Position 4:
Killed Fake Jak banned one Thug used mage for COTH. to clear aggro.

Position 3:
Pulled both thugs let fake or real Jak leash back banned thug used mage for COTH. to clear aggro..

Position 4:
Pulled both thugs let fake or real Jak leash back banned thug used mage for COTH. to clear aggro..

Now I dropped the mage from task and add my Zerker back to group.

Wait for fake Jak to port to position 3.
Kill last fake Jak.
spam a /nav spawn Jaka hotkey to try and overcome summons by thug.
Engage Real Jak switch between adds and Real jak until he ports away at 22%.
Pop Dragon Glyph
Spam /Nav spawn Jaka hotkey to run to Real Jak takes some luck do to summons.
Engage Real Jaka until he ports at 7%.
Spam /Nav spawn Jaka hotkey to run to Real Jak takes some luck do to summons. Also at this point Real Jak summoned me and my SK had him dead before rest of team could get there.

Done.
Hope this Helps.

Spam /Nav spawn Jaka hotkey to run to Real Jak takes some luck do to summons.
.

What is summoning you at these points? Did you damage a thug? Wouldn't a summons to jakar be helpful?

The thugs are summoning the tank back.
So takes a few times of mashing that hotkey to get them to where Jaka is at.

Still having trouble with this achievement? Here's a stupid tactic to make it significantly easier. Takes a long time and is random...

Just train the thugs to different places on the map. When they path back, they can randomly get stuck in certain places. Requires quite a bit of experimentation.

One attempt I was able to get 3 of the thugs caught/trapped, so I only had to deal with tanking jaka + 1 thug, which wasn't bad at all.

I still really don't understand how the devs expected people to do this achievement legit...

My best guess is that someone is supposed to kite the thugs while rest of group kills Jaka.
Or it may be one of those things where you present players with a challenge and have no solution to it and depend on player ingenuity to solve it.
I do this every so often in my Tabletop RPG games when I'm the DM.

The thing about kiting the thugs....that dot they cast from a distance is absolutely brutal.

Ingenuity in tabletop RPGs is awesome, but in EQ that may be referred to as "unintended gameplay" and get you banned. I dunno, I just think the devs screwed the pooch on this achieve.

2 tanks or 1 tank and a beefy kiter. 2 healers, one covers the main tank, one covers the kiter. The thugs can be snared so kiting is a breeze as long as you have a healer to keep them topped up. I've also done it with a pally kiter who keeps himself alive while the group does the mission normally.

It's actually a very easy achievement to do with 6 non-bad live players and the correct class mix.

Months later this achievement is still giving me grief...Maybe I'm missing something or whatnot. I see so many say slow-play here is the win and no need for high DPS. I still find myself in a panic state trying to hit specific hotkeys and alt-tabbing through toon screens.

My team comp is: SK, Clr, Bst, Mag, Brd, Ber

Should I take out the Ber and add a Cleric merc? Maybe have it sit on the bridge with the Mage/Bard to keep them from dying to illusion pops

How in god's name does one make it easy to do these suggested steps to get through this mission without having a damn heart attack?

- can hotkeys be made on my SK (driving toon) to trigger my mage to CoH the team and bard speed/invis without me having to alt-tab to either of those toons? Maybe this will help me reduce some of the alt-tab chaos.

- How much can I do at a snail's pace before time becomes a factor (ie. event resets)?
- Based on the previous question, can I use my Bst to find and bane at each of the camps, FD and CoH him back while the rest of the group remains on the bridge?

Anyone able to make a video of this achievement being boxed and showing how it's being done?

Here is what I do. I am not sure if that will help you or not.
I run Buttonmaster on my main - and control everyone that way, nav to me, pause, unpause, burn etc.
I run Meanstreets_tiger.Lua on my bard to auto-get rid of the tigers.

<<Meanstreets_tiger.Lua>>
Setup
Button 1:

/dexecute yourmagename /cast call of the heroes

Button 2:
/dexecute toon1 /nav id ${Me.ID}
/dexecute toon2 /nav id ${Me.ID}
/dexecute toon3 /nav id ${Me.ID}
/dexecute toon4 /nav id ${Me.ID}

Button 3: Bard invis is fast and easy.
/dexecute yourtooname /alt act 231

Button 4: Remove invis for the whole group.
/dgzaexecute /makemevisible

Create 4 nav points
For the SK, to nav to the Jaka dudes
/Nav UI (loads Navigation gui)
Run SK to the spot
Create a new waypoint
Create all 4 waypoints where the Jaka stands
Jaka1, Jaka2, Jaka3, Jaka4

To put nav waypath into a button the syntax is
/nav wp nameofwapoint (This example would be /nav wp jaka1)

I use buttonmaster /Lua run buttonmaster, made a new tab for meanstreets and put these all on a tab

Put the fake Jaka's on Ext target - so if you take a while or they lose the buff etc, you know which ones are fake

Run Tiger Lua on Bard (this will slow the tigers and get rid of them on bard)
/Lua run Meanstreets_Tiger
Make sure spot 13 is Bard AE Slow

Part 1: Get rid of the second thug on each of the four corners, without killing the Jaka dude

 • Block DS off all toons and pets.
 • Place Shammy close to the bridge, with the SK kind of the middle distance, enough to be able to leech Jaka dude
 • Place the rest of the crew way south down into the bend on the south of the bridge by zone out
 • Everyone is paused
 • Mage has the mem group CoH

 • SK pulls the thugs, aggro spell, do not hit any of them, make sure the SK is paused and targets himself
 • Pull them back to the shammy, Jaka will leash, once there one thug will poof either by your slow belt or the shammy slows
 • Shammy AA Virulent Swarm Shammy Spell Aten Ha Ra's Drowse
 • Once Thug poofs, hit your button to have the mage group CoH
 • Do spot 1 & 2, rinse and repeat what you did the first time
 • For spot 3 & 4, if named is at front, I go over the bridge wall and run all the way around to the other side
 • Bring your shammy and repeat what you did on the first two

Part 2: Kill two fake Jaka dudes
 • Rush in with the group on chase and kill the fake Jaka
 • Make sure to pause dps, SK, and target self at like 5% so SK doesn't automatically switch to the thug once Jaka is dead
 • Once fake Jaka is dead hit the CoH button (or like at 2%, time CoH and death)
 • Hit the bard invis button and run to the 2nd fake Jaka, repeat the same process

Part 3: Kill Last fake Jaka and DPS Named to 35%
 • Place mage just south of the quest dude on the bridge. He stays there the whole time at this point of the event
 • The mage does only one thing in the whole event, and that is to CoH
 • Keep him invis (to avoid the illusions popping on him and killing)
 • Button two is insurance if anyone gets stuck, you can have them nav to your location
 • Do not include your SK and DO NOT INCLUDE your MAGE for button two
 • Have everyone in chase mode except for the Mage and Sk
 • Locate the fake and the real Jaka
 • Kill the fake Jaka first, pause group
 • Mage COH, Bard Invis
 • Quickly move to the real Jaka to kill (less than 45 seconds)

 • You must CoH each time if you need to move to a different location (this keeps the thugs at their spots)
 • You must be (SK) paused and target yourself before you get CoH
 • After you get CoH, Bard invis the whole group and go find the Jaka dude
 • This whole time, your group is chasing you around invis
 • Do not ever target the thugs, if you do this right you will only have one thug at a time

Part 4: When Jaka gets to 22% & 7%
 • For this achievement, I do not go and get an illusions
 • He is stuck at 22% & 7% for what seems like forever
 • If you have a dotter, dot the hell on Jaka. That will buy you time when he poofs
 • The dotter will get summoned and probably die, the dots will cause a summon and buy your group time to reach him in time
 • When he does port to a different location
 • Mage COH, Bard Invis
 • Pause the SK and target myself at this part
 • If you don't have a dotter, just nav to his spot as quickly as possible
 • Uninvis and DPS him down
 • This gets intense when you CoH and try to find Jaka.

Lua for Tiger
local mq = require("mq")

while true
do
if mq.TLO.SpawnCount("a tiger npc zradius 10")() > 0 then
mq.cmd("/mqp")
mq.cmd("/twist 13")

while mq.TLO.SpawnCount("a tiger npc zradius 10")() > 0 do
mq.cmd("/tar a tiger npc zradius 10")
end

mq.cmd("/mqp")
mq.cmd("/keypress esc")
end

mq.delay(10)
end
This is a mix of posts on here and stuff I came up with. It works though. tedious, and annoying timely. but does the trick

Here is what I do. I am not sure if that will help you or not.
Man that was an impressive writeup.

I don't have a mage, so I brute force this achiev.

What works for me is.
1. remove absolutely all DS on SK. turn off and kill all pets, off all shm dots/nukes etc.
2. move to first fake Jaka, slow off fake thug and kill fake jaka. ( I long slow the real thug and sometimes snare it)
3. run past next fake Jaka and just let the 2 thugs chase along with the 1 thug from first.(fake Jaka leashes) Slow off fake thug.(long slow real thug)
4. run back to the fake jaka and kill it.
5. I usually have a warp about then, but I run past the next one and get its thugs down like #3
6. I kill the last fake Jaka, and rush to final jaka. ( its critical you have caused no damage to thugs or they start summoning and it makes this run hard) I usually time this to be in position 1 or 4 for ease.
7. at final Jaka, I just Sic Tank the boss with the 4 thugs also on me. I tab to shm and slow tigers etc as they come in.
8. around 40% I send bard out to opposite corner. (so if I'm Tanking in 4 I run it to 1) when illusions spawn I tag it and drag past all the other illusions to agro all 3 and bringing it to real Jaka.
9. on SK I target the illusions which only take 1 or 2 secs each to pop and then make sure to retarget real Jaka.
10. I repeat at ~20% for next set of illusions. once those are dead your able to kill down boss leaving last illusions up.
open chest, get achiev.

I don't have a mage, so I brute force this achiev.

Your tank/healer must be real studs! What tank class? What automation? I thought my crew was pretty damn stout with a lot of raid gear on the SK tank, but I couldn't begin to survive with all Jacks and all thugs beating on me!

Its an SK with group being CLR, SHM, Zerk, Rog, Brd.
Using plugins, lately I been dropping the brd(this because I have DS issues with brd in group) and popping a merc in its position. then running Rog around and just killing the illusions in there spot. (rog definitely has to be beefy to do this though, I usually come back with ~ 40% hp)

I recently did this with a fellow six boxer. No CoH brute force.

Group : 2x SK , 2x SHM, 2x CLR

Remove all damage shields. Have clerics setup to chain cast fast heals on OT, /twist 1 2 3 4, Buff tanks with slow proc and setup 3rd shaman to heal+cure+slow.

1 - mark real jak on extended target.
2 - move to spot between 3/4.
3 - SK starts the script. Pulls adds from #3 and #4 to group. Begins off tanking.
4 - SK + SHM go to kill fake Jak's in #3 and #4. Wait till warp so you have maximum time.

5 - Pull adds from loc 2 to OT spot.
6 - Pull adds from loc 1 to OT spot.
7 - Wait for warp then go kill fake and rush real.

Right before the end, /taskquit the OT group and add the folks you want to get credit on.

It took us about 2 hours with 3x wipes to work out the details. Super sucky.

Do NOT advise doing it this way.

One tank methode if you have a druid at hand: campspot as usual on the bridge.
1. round: pull trashes only at camp
1.1 pull first group, banish with ae-slow, run first thug over the bridge close to zi, druid snares thug and group-evac back to the camp .... thug remains without aggro out of the way for 14 minutes
1.2 as 1.1 (tank has sufficient space to kite thugs, while druid refreshes snare on all thug) group-evac back to the camp
1.3 as 1.1 (tank has sufficient space to kite thugs, while druid refreshes snare on all thug) group-evac back to the camp
1.4 as 1.1 (tank has sufficient space to kite thugs, while druid refreshes snare on all thug) group-evac back to the camp

2. now all 4 thugs are out of the way and without aggro for more than 13 minutes; do the fake-nameds, aggro and dps named, kill 2 illusions, kill named
2.1 if you are not shure to be able to do the rest of the event within 13 minutes, run down the bridge after the second fake-named is killed and reapply snares

Easy way including another Achivement "No you don't" if you have a druid at Hand:
1. campspot at bridge
2. pull trashes spot by spot to the bridge, banish one, run the thug to ZI and evacc. If possible in a manner, that spot 1 or 4 hosts the named. In order to position named, just wait for the named to swap with the fake one to the spot you like. Its like 2min30sec from one swap to the next.
3. kill the fake-nameds first 2 of them, than wait for the next swap if needed. Kill the 3rd fake than engage the named.
4. all but the puller stays at named, at around 50% and 20% of the nameds life, puller runs to the farthest spot. As soon as illusions spawn, pull all illus at once to the named, tank them all and kill them off ... back to named. As soon as you have the illus pulled at the nameds place (likely off their spawn-spot), they can't swap anymore and achievement "No you don't" is save. Attn. to pull the illus twice and both achivements are done with 1 tank and minimum hassles.

No swaps of named, once engaged, even with a low dps group. No running around for all but puller.

My team is SK/Shm/Bst/Brd/Zerk/Zerk
Dropped one Zerker slotted in Mage for COTH.
Method to do achievement without a mage: Step 1, drop one of your chars and get a mage :) I lol'd at that.

I do have a wizzy, so I'm gonna try to do this with evac rather than coth and see how it goes...

UPDATE: It went ok... It is very easy to bring a shammy or ench and the wizzy invis around to the 4 camps and Slow+evac at the same time so you dont get hit and bane half the thugs.

Then i brought every one around and killed the fake Jaks then evac'd each time.

On the real Jak is where things get interesting...I dont have another tank or pet class to go around and kill the illusions so i just tank through until they despawn, and run to the spot where it ports. The absolute key to this is NOT damaging the thug so it doesnt start summoning. As long as it doesnt summon and you're strong enough to tank a couple mobs you'll be ok. I popped a glyph just because I spent 2 hours figuring this out and didnt want to start over.

Anybody on FV willing to get this or help my group get? Will pay well. I dont have a mage, so trying to do this just feels painful and my tank isnt strong enough to tank them.

Feel free to PM.

*Editted as I finished the No you dont achieve*
