Hello all!
So I think I'm finally done with the TLP black hole and have decided to make the move to one of the live servers. That said I now need to decide on a group composition. I have some kronos for plat and whatnot but I'll be starting out at lvl 1 and possibly boosting 1-2 heroics (thinking maybe sk/clr) Or clr ench or something. Could anyone give me some advice on a good group makeup for someone starting over on a new server. Possible group comps I've considered but am open to changing them I just want the quickest and easiest leveling experience for the first group so I can get maxed out faster.

Potential groups I've thought of.
Sk/Clr/Ench/Mage/Wiz/Wiz
Sk/Clr/Ench/Wiz/Wiz/Wiz
Sk/Clr/Ench/Mage/Wiz/Bst
Sk/Shm/Bard/Zerk/Zerk/Zerk (though I'd think this would be more difficult since I have no gear and came from FV so I have no idea how to legitimately farm gear. I got spoiled by being able to buy everything)

I'm not dead set on any of the above comps I just want to min max my group setup to push end game faster so I cna catch up to my friends.

Honestly, any of those first three setups would do just fine, although I'd be less interested in the Wiz/Wiz/Wiz option only because having a Mage for coth is kind of f'n awesome.

If it was me, though, I'd definitely do Sk/Clr/Ench/Mage/Wiz/Bst. Between the enchanter and the beastlord you will experience zero downtime. I added a beast to one of my groups and it was night/day difference. It also helps that once you get a bit of gear the beastlord does really good dps in his own right.

Okay dope I think I'll try that. I have everything at 76 atm cause I guess i tried to do this a few years ago and gave up but for whatever reason when I did it I leveled a bard with my caster group ???? wtf was i thinking lol and i don't have an enchanter or bst yet so I gotta lvl them

Nothing wrong with bards for a caster group, although since the dicho nerf they aren’t as sploity as they once were. You might have been using the bard to PL, though. When I’m leveling up new toons I use a bard from 2-55 or so because their pbae songs are easier for me to deal with than trying to use throw stone ability (slow as fuck) or ae spells (cost mana, hard to know if you got any of them or just got resisted a bunch). For bard ae damage songs, they all have some other component that is visible in the buff window if it lands... so you’ll see if you’re hitting a good number of the mobs and then can start DS killing them or whatever.

Bards are nice pullers, and I have to agree with Sum mage is nice with Coh, also you can use the pet to tank while you are gearing up your sk.

You want to push to lvl 110 quickly it sounds like...
Sk, Mage (pet offtank) Chanter (obvious mez and speed) Ranger (melee or range if humaniod) or Zerker (I prefer ranger for many reasons over zerker, WS being one of them, bolt/jolt yada yada) a wizard for those sticky situations..can lower a large amount of dps in a short time and evac! And of course, the token cleric! Dont forget to set all of your casters to melee, dont leave dps on the table! (They will only melee when not casting!)

GOOD LUCK!

Oh yeah and WELCOME BACK to playing live! We've missed you and all those foolish enough to think you can go back home!

Sk/Clr/Ench/Mage/Wiz/Bst - Solid group and great utility. Ports + CoH. 2 pets with taunt-on makes keeping the tank up easy. If the tank drops, pets hold it while Clr battle rezzes tank. Beast provides decent back-up heals and good buff overlap.

Sk/Shm/Bard/Zerk/Zerk/Zerk - This is a monster of a DPS group, but unforgiving. I run similar groups and wound up subbing a Pal in for the SK slot. One more healer, one more rezzer and provides watered down Clr buffs. You take a DPS hit, but with 3xZerk you don't notice the tank DPS.
