News - New EQ game authenticator Jan 2026

Looks like they are replacing the old game authenticator with Google Authenticator. I think only a handful of players still had the old one and while it still worked there was no way to buy a replacement when it broke so this is long overdue.

These are your options now: You will notice the 2-step one is only for use when you forget your password or if your account was security locked.



Whereas the new Google Authenticator will be required EACH AND EVERY time you log in.



But I got an error when trying to use the Google version. Didn't want to mess around with it too far.

Yeah I figured that needs to be known that we would have to do the google one every frikin time we log in. Of course some would prefer that. I will stick with just giving them my cell for the other 2FA. Much less invasive.

Will MQ Autologin be getting support to flag as google authenticator enabled and prompt for the temp token during login?
