Ok so I have been looking around found some information on kissassist and stuff checked out the video guilds all of witch seem years old. My question is if mq2 is best for a 2 or maybe 3 box over say isboxer and if it was how hard would this be to set up over just driving the 3 toons myself i plan to box a necromancer, shadowknight, and maybe druid with Mercs mixed in as needed

By far the easiest way to just get killing is to use rgmercs Lua in my opinion. Make your group, set you main assist/tank/puller etc and turn it on. Of course there are tons of ways to optimise it but it will get you killing right out of the box.

The CWTN Plugins are amazing, by far the easiest, but they are not free. I am spoiled and deserve to be pampered... LOL

I think it will be giving rgmercs Lua try is it one or the other with this kind of stuff I noticed one person was using it and swapped to kissassit I would assume maybe incorrectly thats there best used separately

I ran 2-3 toons without ISBoxer for a long while. It was fun learning how to set up my group with ingame hotbuttons. Necro is really easy to set up with what the game offers out of the box. I found that SK/SHM/NEC worked really well as a trio.

I turned to ISBoxer when I started wanting to improve my DPS and got sick of Alt+Tab. It allowed for me to streamline what I would normally do with Alt+Tab and button pushes. With ISBoxer, I used more of a MASH type approach and multi-binding to a few key buttons.

MQ is for when you just flat out want to automate. When you start adding in that Bard for ADPS or when you find you want to add in a class you have never played before. That is when MQ shines.

I am the worst boxer ever it just frustrates me in the end. I can play 1 toon well but split my attention onto another character and that's it tank is dead. I can manage a bit with shadow knight and Necromancer but that do to the healer merc being automated. I think I might try out isboxer see if that helps with the layout at some point but I am on live now so time to experiment

MQ changes the game when you are used to boxing manually. I did that for years and will never go back. Heck I'll probably never EQ without MQ. Its super easy to run whole group just take some learning the application you're using and some common MQ commands. RGMERCS is a Lua made that is kind if like Kissassist with a GUI and alot more. CWTN Plug-ins are what I use and love them. You'll find what you enjoy and the community here is pretty helpful.

ya playing around with RGMERCS atm and liking it not to solid yet but I think that is More me not being familiar with the program than anything else I did see some videos on Kissassist want to try that as well will have to look up this CWTN plug-in no idea how that one works nothing on youtube at least that i saw. I tend to check out guides for thing to figure out the basics but this is kind of no possible i guess _0

There are definitely videos on the CWTN plug-ins, but you might find them as MQ2Eskay, MQ2Bard, etc. They are also closely linked with @Sic who has tons of resources, guides and videos that you should definitely check out, even if you are not using the CWTN plugins.

The automation you pick to run your toons is just one aspect of MQ. The other is using tools like Dannet and EQBC to send commands to your other characters from your driver (eliminating the need to use ISB). @Sic hotkeys guide is probably the definitive starting point for everyone there, and will get you through the basics. The QoL improvements of having Auto accept, login, etc. are also awesome. Check out Buttonmaster once you really get going. Or heck, try Grouper out for a basic starting point to control a group with minimal need to set up your own hotkeys.

Enjoy. And P.S., once you get the hang of it you won't be boxing 3 toons...

Howdy and welcome.

Isboxer doesn't *innately* have automation built-in, so MQ is on an entire additional level of boxing.

I used isboxer for years before I knew about MQ - mq is definitely what you're looking for.

I have a bunch of links in my signature - but yah lots of different automations, you should check em all out and see what meets your needs.

The CWTN plugins are terrific and make the game really enjoyable. Just know that using any form of MQ is risky as DBG has really cracked down on it. At some point your accounts will be suspended or banned.

If you need help with the rgmercs shoot me a msg, I can help on here or discord. I have been setting it up on my team for a few weeks and have it working great.

Ya I am only using this on EMU servers atm I don't plan to run this on live my accounts are all old don't want to risk them atm enjoy the RGMERCS it seems good but I am noticing issues with my necromancer the spells it selects as default are not my preferred spells I never use swift dots and it seems to stop fighting at some point not sure what I might be doing to cause this but I think I will try kissasist seems it has player made sets that might be more detailed will give that a try tomorrow so far love the program

The only thing about ISBoxer is you have to pay for it before you can really try it out. If you are worried about any sort of account risk ISBoxer is the way to go if you want to just box 3 toons. They have "allowed" its use so far as it does not automate like Sic said. There are mechanical solutions that can replicate what ISBoxer does. At one point i was running 3 keyboards

wow ya that sounds terrible 3 keyboards would give me a headache for sure atm I am just running 2 side by side on the screen but its is limited compared to what MQ2 I am not able to log into isboxer atm so will try that on live later once I am done playing with this mq2 just started playing with kissassist and its a lot more complicated than the RGMERC or at least less easy I need to keep referring to commands to know what to do in some ways I really not need this automation just a better way to manage the toon but I do find the loadouts to be very useful the way I play a shadow knight is limited compared to how RGMERC was playing it will figure something else maybe there is a less automated option out there

@masterpiece10 secret to get an answer out of @Sic is simple…ask a question in a new unrelated thread, not an existing discussion …and watch his OCD explode (har!) so you’ll get a “whine” then he’ll merge you i to the right thread…and usually a coherent answer…just don’t do it too often…he might suspect we figured out how to get his undivided attention…

Plan B is usually saying something totally wrong as if its an absolute certainty somewhere…then the whole community will explode with reactions and good information

I call those two pulling a @RobRenfro … hahaha

You can edit RGMercs configs btw. Default is just default.
But yes this tracks, necro is hard to pin down at different level ranges (it is an older config as well, and lacks many of the improvements the others have), and if you add emu into the mix it could be a double whammy.
The default available Project Lazarus config should be reasonable to level with on most emu servers, it would likely need adjustment at 69/70.

Your necro is likely stopping the dotting due to the two different rotations based on the setting that determines when we consider a mob to have low HP. If you adjust that setting from like 50% down to like 25% it will keep doing the main rotation which is dots until that HP threshold is met. Then it switches to the low HP rotation which is mostly nukes and lifetaps. Additionally that controls when the necro will attempt to snare if you have that turned on.

ok will try to lower the hp threshold i did not notice it nuking but I was busy on the shadow knight definitely need to find a setup for the necro that works at some point want to try a 6 man party I like the idea the necros cast there EE nuke at the end to try and net some free EEs thats how I do the necro when solo

Kissassist gives you a lot more control over how your toon works - but has a steeper learning curve than RGMercs or CWTN stuff. With Kissassist, learning how to set up conditions for everything is pretty much required to get the most out of it. Not plug and play at all. The premade ini's available can vary greatly based on the person who posted em, how old they are, etc. Current version is 12.xx, I generally try to look for ones made for that version, as there are som pretty significant changes from 10.xx/11.xx.

For the record, there is no customization in KA that cannot be made in RGMercs.
It is a common misconception. (Edit: I am not trying to convince anyone out of using KA, really, just disagreeing with your first sentence).

How easy and customizable are RGMercs and CWTN if it's on a very custom server WITH new classes/spells/discs/etc added?

CWTN class plugins aren't currently available for emu and wouldn't have "very custom server with classes/spells/discs" etc

I started the same way but using RG Mrcs (Now Lua) . it would be super easy for Mq to play those three characters but why stop at 3. just make all 6. F2P characters are better than mercs all day. focus your main characters with Kiss assist then have the others use Lua Rg Mercs. its super easy.

They are fully customizable for mercs
Easy?
It takes work to be good, but most of the tools are there. It's mostly copy and paste, and adding some spell lists.

Take a look at our Laz configs, EQ Might configs, Hidden Forest configs.

They are all different emu, with a mix of default and custom spells, AA and items.
