Hello guys, Just wanted to share my leveling path for new characters (if you have a high level main) with you guys, and honestly I dont know if this is best or not...its just what i do, and it seems to work fairly well...

I goto Blightfire moores. this works VERY well if you have access to a high level cleric!, I use a level 94 cleric for Shining armor. It works great for generating hate so you never lose your swarm when powerleveling your newb.

i damage shield the powerleveler then cash shining armor on them. I usually cast a lower level damage shield on the powerleveler because i dont want to kill them so quickly if i am using a melee class that can only throw stones...in that case i need to try and throw a stone at everything in the swarm, or go to solb and buy the 5 charge AE pots from zordic ragefire, that also works.

if you are powerleveling a Wizard, they get numbing cold at level one, so easy, same with magician, they also get Fire Flux at level 1. bards get Chords of Dissonance at level 2, Clerics get word of pain at level 9, and necromancers and druids get AE around level 20 ( i will get the names of those spells and post back on this thread)...

LEVEL 1-20:
so I start out swarming the gnolls on the right side of the entrance of blightfire. there is a literal shitload of them and they seem to spawn as fast as i can kill them.
i do this until around level 20ish, maybe 23ish...or as soon as they turn blue or light blue.

LEVEL 20-35ish:
I then move on to the skellies on the left side of blightfire as you zone in. they are also in abundance and i can pull a shitload of them and they spawn fairly fast. I kill here usually until around 35ish.

LEVEL 35-43ish:
I then move to gorukar mesa. In gorukar mesa, i swarm giants, the same way i have swarmed the gnolls and skellies.
I usually do this 43ish sometimes a little higher, depends on when they turn blue. if i dont feel like moving yet i sometimes will stay until the first one turns light blue then i move. the reason for all this is because there is no point doing this if your newb's AE spell is just going to get resisted. After i ding low 40's.

LEVEL 43-60ish:
I will then move to next zone over in the Roost. do the basic kill quests for the second and third island on the first island at the quest giver next to the big griffon standing next to the nest. you can swarm a few pulls the same way we have done the others thus far for some XP just until we complete the first and second quest so we can move to the next islands. after your able to get to the second and thirst island you can swarm the harpies for great xp until you ding level 60, i swarm one island, move to the next, swarm the next island, then move back to the other island etc.

LEVEL 60-70:
After you ding 60, you can move to PoFire. great swarm xp in pofire. me personally i usually do all this with a level 85 mage and a level 94 cleric for the shining armor...makes a huge difference. you are GOD mode more or less with shining armor. When i move to POFire, i just put the powerlevelee in the group with the powerleveler finally. at this point i can swarm the entire zone of PoFire with the 85 mage using shining armor on both mage and pet just in case of aggro bouncing while your pulling the swarm. you can clean out the entire zone of fire in literal minutes with this method, damage shield from mage, shining armor from cleric, and pet dps'ing, you will never die, doesnt matter how many mobs you pull, you will never die as long as your shining armor doesnt fade. and honestly you can use any class you want around level 80ish or 85ish as long as you have a cleric with shining armor (level 94 spell) after about 45 minutes or so, depends on how fast your killing and the respawns, you will go from 60 to 70.

LEVEL 70+:
After you hit 70, you can group with anyone in the game, 70 can group with level 100. at this point i take one of my powerleveling mains. normally a monk works extremely well for this, you take a high level monk or high level sk with a nice number of aa's, cast shining armor on them and pull the entire zone of Fort Mech. awesome swarm xp, and like i said, with shining armor on you, you should never die.

I usually swarm fort mech until about level 85. then from 85 on it gets a bit more complicated, swarming fort mech is only good until around then because the mobs are going to be fairly low level. my other path is to swarm the grounds with a shadowknight or decapping zerker for mega xp since its current hot zone.

On the other hand, 100 ranger can headshot The Cooling Chambers for pretty awesome XP as well! dont bother headshotting Feerrott the dream at the temples. the xp is lame, green mobs to level 100 most of them, and usually camped by everyone. The Cooling Chambers is an awesome headshot zone since people rarely go there and all the mobs are still light blue to level 100 ranger and with ranger you dont need to use a shining armor spell from a cleric. usually during all this powerleveling,

I keep an alt parked at the parcel guy that i continually buy taskadds from any chance i get at 75+ so i can get aa's while im powerleveling regular xp, just dont forget to turn aa xp to 100 percent before you click the reward for the taskadd. then just turn it back down to 0 when you accept the reward.

Im sure all of this is prob. common knowledge to most high end players in the game. and you can work this method in many different ways with many different classes i am sure. but this is just what works for me, and it seems to go fairly quick and i can have a level 85 with a few hundred aa's in hard day of grinding doing it this way. then if i dont want to buy xpacks for the newly powerlevel'd character, i just throw a full suit of Tier 1 Veil of Alaris gear (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/eq:Veil_of_Alaris_Armor_Guide) and non vis T1 veil of alaris gear on them (all from bazaar relatively cheap) and bam, you got a pretty sweet new character that can do a lot for being a Free To Play account with no xpacks.

I will try and update this guide with other methods or new ideas as well for you guys as I think of them! thanks for reading.

P.S....This is more of a "Power Leveling-Level Guide" than a Leveling Guide i suppose.

VEry nice, my powerlevelee is currently level 75 and was wondering where to go next, guess i have my answer ;)

Nice guide! Was looking for another method besides Pincushion PL =)

If you start out with gnolls in BM how do you hit them though? At level 1 I can imagine you won't be able to land AE spells on them or am I missing something?

Only used to Pincushion PL so forgive my newb questions please =)

Well, It depends on the class honestly, If you are doing a Melee class plvl, the throw stone method is not resistable so you can theoretically do it anywhere in this guide. If you are using a non-melee class, i would suggest doing the little newb tasks in gloomingdeep for the hell of it...usually takes me like 20 or 30 minutes to do the newb tasks in gloomingdeep. or damage shield the newb and goto the top floor of Crescent Reach if you dont like glooming deep, you can also get a few levels there before you start using the guide. should again only take a few minutes of time, usually takes me about 20 or 30 minutes to ding 1-10...heh easiest levels ever now days :D Let me know if you guys have further questions. Cyah!

Ah I thought you started out killing gnolls at level 1, but it makes sense now. Thanks for the clarification =)

and easy way to get up to 25-30 is the bone chip quest. Go to brells rest and fill your bags with Bone chips you can buy from the vendor and then turn them in. I know a guy that goes all the way to lvl 51 doing this. Also on top of that the amount of money he gives you is more than the bone chips cost so it even make some copper doing it.

So let me get this straight. You can level a toon all the way to 51 just by turning in bone chips? #hax!!! Who is this quest npc?

Gunlok Jure in North Kaladim.

I remember doing this quest at level 8 or so from bone chips I got from the chessboard.... oh the good old day =)

just tested the bone chips it gives 1.5% exp at lvl 9...
so if this could be made into a macro wouldn't be so bad but to get to 51 this way would be slow.

- - - Updated - - -

______EDIT______ lol hand him 400 at a time..... much quicker

In the old days you used to give 4 unstacked bones per turn in.

Nobody tried to turn in 4 full stacks at a time though, cause you simply didnt have that many bone chips in the old days.

Can you turn in 400 at a time? How long and how many stacks would you need to get from 1 - 20 aprox?

i just filled 10 trade satchels.. 32 slot..
so 320 stacks got me to 36 from lvl 10..
takes longer to destroy all the rusty weps you get then it does to turn them in.
but idk maybe 30 min to hand them all in.
and yes turn 400 in at a time

- - - Updated - - -

have a merc out and you get 1% aa exp for every 400.

Moved to Level 2 strats. If the exploit is true you don't want it nerfed in 3 min from being in a public forum.

ok bit more info and testing.. 40-50 gives about 5% per 400 chips
51 gives 3%
51 at 100% AA it gives 33% per 400 hand in.

glad ya liked my idea! But i only PL like that till 25 then I use my 100 ranger and DS my merc in a few zones. like crypt of nadox till 46. then go to POI and in 1 pull will get from 46 to 55. i have a whole plan set out up till 62. its 62-70 I cant get figured out

CoD from 55 to 70 Pull the whole zone. DS kill it down it is superb aa and levels till 70 ish

Anyone know a good PL zone for levels 60 - 70 without a level restriction?

I want to give the throw stone PL tactic a try to see how fast it is. Normally I use CoD, but you need to be level 55 to enter.

Still amazed how good the Bone Chips quest is haha, definately gonna use that trick till level 30 - 40 (as long as it lasts).

i just found this on the MQ2 boards. its old and i haven't tested it as mq2 down.

That probably works (I've been using something similar, but it's too buggy to share), but there are a few things that need to be done in order to make it work now that you can turn in stacks. Also, there is no reason to try to place the chips in the window anymore since you are turning in stacks, so you can just click the target every time to turn in.

Try this and see if it works; the delays could use some tweaking based on your lag. Also, I personally don't destroy stuff and use the sellstuff.mac provided with this compile on the merchant (who is max ally after one round of turn-ins) standing across the quest NPC (I'm doing this on new characters on a different server, any cash is good cash). I modified that mac slightly so that it auto-inventories my cursor so I can sell everything on my cursor as well.

g_kinz, You can try plane of fire at level 60, will take you all the way to 70 fairly easily but i found that the wall of slaughter was better (for me anyway) up till about 73-74ish and tons of AA. I pull with a bard so the speed of the mob doesn't really bother me. Just don't damage the mob on the initial pull because they all summon...

great idea for PLing casting class than can AoE and i use PoFire but oil of fennen ro dont work there because of high fire resist

Can always use a shroud and throw stone if you have a high level one available, or there is always the possibility to plevel a bard with your melee, since accounts are now free, it will take a little bit longer but that works too.

Just confirmed that this works rather well. Went from 1 to 32 with 9 extraplanar trade satchels full of chips.

yup 3 trips and your lvl 50.. straight to POP then. could just do with a better macro to hand them in. but the one posted sorta works.

Yeah, that macro was sort of a hackish way to do it and there aren't a lot of checks to ensure what you are doing is correct, but it hands the bulk of them in.

The only issue with the macro is that it doesn't like to autoinventory what you get from turning the chips in. I spent roughly 1.2k on bone chips and between the coin and the items I sold back to the vendor, I made 800 profit. Takes forever though. And the sellstuff mac is slower than shit. But handy if you're doing stuff semi afk.

Yeah, that's what I mean about doing proper checks. It sometimes gives the npc a reward weapon instead of bone chips, or does some other oddball thing due to lag because there are no checks to ensure anything is being done properly. If there were, it would be much slower. And that's why the sell stuff macro is slow, because it properly checks (it just uses ninadvloot).

Here is the new buystuff.mac

Rich (BB code):
| Buystuff 2.0 by Maskoi 12/15/2013
| Exclusive macro for members of Redguides.com
| Don't steal it or we'll punch your fase!

| /mac buystuff "water flask" 100

#include ninjadvloot.inc

sub main

/declare StuffToBuy string outer
/declare AmountToBuy int outer

    /if (${Defined[Param0]}) {
        /varset StuffToBuy ${Param0}
    }
    /if (${Defined[Param1]}) {
        /varset AmountToBuy ${Param1}
    }

/call SetupAdvLootVars
        /call npc "${Taget.CleanName}"
        /call Buy "${StuffToBuy}" ${AmountToBuy}
/return

I would also download the newest ninjadvloot. I fixed a bunch of annoying things in the buy routines. http://www.redguides.com/community/showthread.php/26324-NinjAdvLoot-4-4-12-15-2013?p=206351

The only bad part is that you have to have at least dubious faction to do it. Gotten a few toons to 50 doing it. Tried as an ogre SK...got squashed by guards. You can invis, but there is one guard that roams right by the npc you do the turn ins to.

Yeah, If you time it right, you can offload all your chips between pathing. Unfortunately, the guard faction doesn't get raised with this quest, but you can invis after you turn in the first bunch and you'll be ally from the first 400 to the paladin guild.

Just kill the guard with a higher level toon and there are 2 of them that path by.

yeah i kill them they have a good if not longer 30 min re-pop time. i have a wizzy bound there so i port to brell and then tele to bind.
but what i do is...
the noob will be handing in chips and the wiz will be selling weps or loading back up.
port the wiz back and swap all 10 bags. the noob hands in the wiz sells and fills up.
some times the noob catches up so he turns and sells to the vender behind him as well.
and i do it with the /selltuff /buystuff and that bone one.
