@burdsjm the two items i have different is "usecures" and "usealliance/forcealliance".. is there a downside for use cures on? and ive never really messed with alliance (normally solo healer in a group).
 
Normally there isn’t anything to cure in the current expansion that I noticed in group content. I force alliance because I have a cleric usually in my group.

I've posted my settings a couple times like > here < back from december

don't use alliance on your shaman as a solo healer.

you should use cures if you want to cure - i leave it on to help with just minor bullshit from mobs like any curable stun/snare bullshit etc - it doesn't hurt, so i leave it on - but i don't memcureall, i just let the aa handle it

I almost exclusively use heal stance - i don't need the extra dps, so it doesn't matter - but i've done all group stuff in all 3 stances

I don't memcureall
I don't usecheetah (i have bard, and cheetah is short so spammy)
i don't usecannispell (the aa is plenty and is a waste of a gem slot at current level imo)
i have an sk, so i don't use growth
don't use haste as it comes with focus line in current game
i don't bother with single malo or single slow
I don't useRegen because as mentioned in the FAQ dissi line overwrites it, so you'll get stuck recasting after every fight

Its not like I have problems, I do ok, just looking to optimize my groups. The people here have a lot of experiences, tips and tricks. Figured I would ask :)

Any tips on getting shaman dps up? My shaman is my lowest dps at around 50-100kDPS (tov3/115/31kaa/mq2shaman). Any specific AA I should try to get?

31k AA is shy of the nearly 58k max - so you definitely are missing stuff that will impact things.

you likely have very low fight times, so your dps is going to wildy vary - dots don't get to do their best if fights are super short.

also suggest turning off single slow and single malo as they are a wasted cast in short fights, imo.

but anything that increases your dot/nuke dmg you'll want to get. can usemelee too for additional deeps.
use autoassistat 100

you can dps stance if you want to have a more dmg oriented loadout (it doesn't change behavior just the spell loadout)

if you don't have your epic - stop what you're doing and go and get it.
 
I looked through the thread but I could not find info on power leveling other toons. I am working on some lower level toons that can't have spells great than 50 cast on them and of course the Shaman can't be grouped with the character. Is this something can can be done with the tool or just manual.

for buffs? no, unfortunately not, but you can turn on xtarget healing and not xtarget buffs
 
Hello,

I have a reoccurring execution of my shaman camping out of game when it gets a bit rough. Lately I have been clearing mobs in the tunnels of Dragon Necropolis to harvest the shinnies and at times it gets a bit rough. When I reload eq to get him back in game he "flips the desk and acts like I am not playing any more". I get the game reloaded and get him to character select, then once I select to enter world, the game unloads and I have to reload eq again. I don't know what to do to rectify this problem.

we absolutely do not camp out of the game in any of the cwtn plugins, nor do we unload mq/mq2

I would double-check you don't have any plugins doing that (mq2posse, mq2autocamp?) , or a macro/script doing that like spawnmaster or something where you're unloading mq2 and/or camping out

Just wanted to report this in case it hadn't come up yet, but with the newest update of MQ(Next) if your tank at the 65 range has a disease/poison debuff and you have your shaman healing him through xtarget, it attempts to cure the debuff with Blood of Nadox even though the spell can't land on the tank.

p.s - Just so there is no confusion, this is for Rizlona.

well there isn't a special "only this spell" distance check - everything uses the same checks.

but i'll take a look and see if mq is reporting something incorrectly

are you saying "you shouldn't be trying to cast this upon non-group'd memebers and the 65 wasn't important"

i read this as "this is different behavior than before".

let me take a look at it - if it is just a matter of group v1 or w/e then i can fix it
 
It's more that Blood of Nadox isn't castable on people outside of your group, and since the shaman isn't grouped with the tank, it shouldn't be trying to cure with Nadox as far as I am aware.

Shit sorry, I just read the initial post I made and saw that I said 65 range, and I should have put level 65. That's my bad on that, wasn't trying to toss a red herring into the mix.

So, found a new spell issue in GoD on Rizlona. Once you get Breath of Trushar for the shaman, it mems the spell in slot 2 and still keeps Quiescence memmed in slot 6, but it doesn't cast Breath of Trushar even though it's the better STHoT.

they are two different things

HalcyonHoT is quiescence and RenewalHoT is your breath of trushar

We use HalcyonHoT as a STHotMA / STHotNotMA heal values

and Renewal HoT is your group hot

I'll take a look if i put it in the wrong grouping and if so, i'll fix it

Yeah, no problem, I was just so confused I glanced over and never had Breath of Trushar on my dps.

I have a question....why does he wait so long to slow mobs? Ancient Bargain and nonsensical spells will be cast before he'll slow a mob with this. In fact he doesn't slow a mob until they're around 56% health. I have watched many encounters, and this is 100% of the time. This(slowing the mob) should be the first thing it does. As soon as 99%(which I have it set to, not the default 98%), then right into heals. I.E. Have a camp set, pull with SK, back to camp, everyone starts attacking, I watch my SK suffer for 10 seconds until the slow hits, or it's uses only Annui only, when you can have both on a mob. Is there a setting I can change to make this happen?

howdy disclosed, sorry to hear you sound pretty frustrated.

we don't not-slow if it has ennui - we actually check against the *actual* slow speed the mob has and make a determination from that.

if you don't want to use ancient bargain (which in current game, 100% recommend not using) /shn usecannispell off or adjusting your cannispellmana value /shm cannispellmana #

malo then slowing are the first things we do outside of heals and our other non dmg related stuff.

maybe you don't have your assist settings setup correctly.

double check your campradius, your assistat value etc - as we're not going to do those things until the mob is in your camp, and is at your assistat value (99 in your case, but i suggest using a 100, unless for some reason you want to wait arbitrarily to start doing things).

if you're getting `sploded, we're going to heal you before we go into doing non-keep-you-alive stuff.

sounds like you just need to adjust your settings - you can definitely set the assistat to 100 with the cwtn plugins without negative effects, and i suggest and recommend that, and use that on all of my characters.

it might be taking you that 10s before the mob is in camp at at your 99% while you're casting the cannispell you have it set to memorize and use.

re: "nonsensical" spells - turn off ancient bargain if you don't want to use it.
turn off usegrowth if you have an SK.
make sure you turn off regen in the current game.

FAQ
Q. UseGrowth?
A. If you have an SK or a Paladin tank, you should turn off UseGrowth as they have their own personal version which doesn't stack.

Q. Shaman keeps recasting Regen line (Talisman of the Enduring)?
A. If you are 101+ you shouldn't have UseRegen on - dicho/dissi/composite overwrites your talisman regen line, which will make you recast your regen buff after every fight.

and if you're saying that you're getting a mob to 56% in 10 seconds - guessing your kill times are around 25s, casting a single target slow is probably a waste of your time anyhow.

howdy duck,

there is no option to not cast it, but you can block the buff on your MA's character, and then we wouldn't cast it on your MA

MQ2Shaman FAQ
Q. I don't want the plugin to cast xyz buff on a toon.
A. Any buff you don't want cast upon someone, you would just have that character add it to their blocked buffs.

EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Buffs
EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Pet Buffs (to add to anyone's pet blocked spells)

the problem with my shaman "flips the desk and acts like I am not playing any more" was resolved. I found the mq2autocamp that you spoke of and deleted it. He has not chickened out since then.

I'm sorry if I missed this but any known issues for xtargethealing and xtarget buffing not working on pets? Noticed it on sham and cleric so far.
I was assisting outside group and using a pet to tank and the pet received no buffs or heals.

we only xtarget heal and xtarget buff players on xtarget. tho we do check a player on xtarget's pet for buffs (we only single target buff pets, we don't group buff them)
