MQ2Say - A Say Detection and Alerting Plugin.

This plugin is intended to catch say messages in close proximity to your group that may otherwise be lost in the game spam, or hidden behind another window. This is important due to the fact that if a Gamemaster is checking to see if your group is AFK they will frequently pop in and say something to your group, and if you don't respond quick enough you can find your group kicked and/or banned from the game.

The plugin creates a dedicated window for Say Messages which originated from player...

Could perhaps ignore PoK/GL/Guild halls
ini section with phrases to ignore. Don't really need to be notified when someone zones in 6x toons into an instance with ready
don't alert on members of own group/raid

I dont know about high traffic areas, the wife and i have been out with the toons, but we have been messing with it, and seems to work quite well. ill keep it running as i wander around single mode tomorrow and let you know how it does in GL/PoK/Baz.
 
I've been running it on a new set of toons. I just now discovered an issue. It blows up the EQ client when you have mq2say enabled and you click on the Sign Post in the Blightfire Moors zone. Other than that I haven't had any problems and I sure do appreciate this plugin! I'm posting here a screen capture of the error I received on 2 different characters just now...

Looking good so far - only thing I've noticed is that I'm getting GM alerts from something called "rizo" when requesting missions in TBL.

Seems to be picking up something every time the mission window pops up, but it's the same every time "GM rizo says, The truth has been revealed, what are you going to do about it..."

Bit creepy tbh, this text doesn't appear in say at all

Which mission and NPC specifically? I tried it on Fightfire and the great sky ocean missions and didn't see a thing.
 
Prince Ralaifin was one of them, from Horizon Blighted Sage
 
Had to use a different toon, since the ones I received the alerts on is locked out for now.... this one gets this just when hailing the same NPC (Horizon Blighted Sage) I've messaged you the dumps it created in the log folder

Have you updated to the most recent version 0.2? It should fix that error.
 
Just updated, that's got rid of the crash... weird, wasn't crashing me before

And now I can't replicate those gm alerts lol.... found the text it was picking up though, it is something that Horizon Blighted Sage said, it had links in the text maybe that confused it

I'll be sure to take a snip if it happens again
 
Tested on Prince Ralafin through killing the first oblate and didn't get any invalid or improper say messages. I will be making a change so you don't get truncated names like that however.
 
It's the beeps mq2posse does the same thing. You can reduce the number, or replace it with another mq2 or eq command. Redbot said he likes using voicetells. Or do /mqsay off or /mqsay alerts off while you are raiding.

I am not ignoring your requests jande, just waiting to get through the code review and get it approved for Very Vanilla before I make huge changes to it. :)
 
I've just loaded this up on Rizlona, looks good so far. I was actually looking for something to filter out just PC says to a separate window anyways but I don't think you can do that via the in game filters, so is going to fufill a secondary need for me, which is awesome :)
 
So this is the error I am getting after just doing /plugin mq2say load.....

I guess I will next attempt to camp all my toons, close out all of MQ2 and VV and then relaunch everything and see if that fixes anything.

And additionally, I am on Test Server.

you can't load a live .dll for test server - all the structs will almost certainly be incorrect, like in this case.

live and test have to be build respective to their offets/structs

Works great for me.
Request for future release: for boxers it would be great, if the alarmsound could be disabled per char. When running around with 6 toons, I would like to be able to disable the sound for 4-5 of them.

The Alarm sound should be able to, but I intend to add the option to disable the plugin on a per char basis currently it is on for all or off for all.
 
Nice plugin, GM's will probably be checking AFK using emotes next 🤪 if the plugin detected that they might move onto interpretive dance!
