Quick question:

Does the pally use spire at all? Been grinding this weekend and using the pally as a driver, have really seen it fire but maybe once>? Even on named i made sure to watch it and it never fired
 
Works Well on my Paladins - Quick guess - Your using the standerd pal settings? - Try this - found it worked for me to get more skills to go off - Burn Always-Off - Burn all Named - On - (Settings) Burncount: 2-3 (Default is 5) will make your discs go off more often on lower-pull counts but withhold just a tick for named.
or Just burn always and watch him go! :p

Quick Question. I just levelled up to 117 and now my Paladin keeps spamming Shadewell Keeper even though it has the buff. I clicked it off while spamming thinking it didnt register the buff but it did it three or four more times before it finally stopped. Also, is there a way to make it stop self buffing when in manual mode?

We don't "count" anything to do something "three or four more times" and then stop. it means there was likely something conflicting, or it wasn't taking hold for some reason. Those things then ended up no longer being an issue, for whatever reason, and the spell was able to land, or it was reporting that it would not stack so it no longer tried.

There are some oddball eq things that can make spells not take hold, which i/we have no idea how to check for. If you teleported on top of a campfire, with other people, sometimes you end up "inside" the campfire or other people - sometimes that will make spells not land. if you teleport (like guild hall anchor) and are slightly in the wall, this can make a spell not take hold (same thing with pets being inside a wall)

You can block spells you don't want, but you are always better off looking for any EQ red "blocked by" stacking message to determine what your situation is. There are some EQ/MQ buffs that say they stack which don't, or have directional issues (a will go on b, but b won't go on a - and sometimes they report they do).

if you don't want to do buffs, go in byos mode (not byos custom)

Shadewell Keeper is the "Single Aegolism" line. If you have usesymbol turned off, and your single aego line is higher level than your group aegolism line, and aegolism reports that it stacks, we will cast it on whoever is reporting they need it. you get the group version "Hand of the dreaming Keeper" at 120 for our "Group Aegolism" spell group.
 
Thanks Sic for getting back to me. I used to run your stuff when i played a couple of years ago, unfortunately I cant afford to to them all again and the MQ2Paladin is a new one for me. OMG my bad i thought it was a self only buff. It was likely chain casting on other characters in my group. In my defence I hadn't had my morning coffee yet. Thank you for being polite to my stupidness, its appreciated.
 
yep, it will single target buff each person who needs it (and will say the person it is buffing)

long duration fights where i cant melee to hold aggro so i need to use every possible tool to fire all the time
solo tanking something like shei? never had aggro issues tanking with a pally, but thank you for the usecase that helps. Shei also has some interesting secondary aggro issues, which you can resolve by "setting" secondary aggro early by having someone else taunt off, and then take it back, and you'll never end up with whacky aggro afterwards - but that's not the point =p

it makes sense if someone is using FoD they're using it specifically for aggro purposes, I have pretty large concerns that it is 4550 mana every 9 seconds tho

i'll give it some thought on the best to do.

on this usecase my inclination would be to just do that, or maybe compare against secondary threat value, and spam again
 
I had been giving this some thought too... perhaps... just perhaps... if taunt was on a toggle not spammed it would be available to help snag back aggro in cases like this, and other tank-swappy mechanics (Doomshade/Ciknarqueen) would let you save all that mana.... just perhaps

What am i doing wrong, when i try to do /pal UseMarrsSalve off it just says isn't a valid option. I'm trying to turn it off for raids where im in the same group as the MT

EDIT: figured it out, there is no "e" a the end of Salv
 
I read through the forums here but didn't see anything. Manual mode seems to not retarget after using Splash. It seems to self target you to cast but won't switch back to mob. Anyone else having or seen this?

we don't target anything in manual mode.

you are in... manual mode. so if you changed targets either manually, or by doing a buff or casting a spell on something/someone, you're not going to re-target anything, because manual.

Force of Disruption and Divine Stun have no mana cost. There's no reason to not be keeping them mashed 100% of the time. They are also instant cast.
Divine Persecution has a casting time and a mana cost, making it a DPS loss in many scenarios.

I did message Sic about this and he suggested posting here about the issue:

I'm having the problem where running BYOS of running out of mana well before a TOL T2 group geared wiz does.

I am a dex-built pally with 300k mana, 600k hp, and 12k ac, almost fully T2 TOL Raid geared with every spell Rk III from lvl 110 that has a Rk III variant and almost 62k aa's. I have my 2.5, Jann's Veil, etc. The toon is pretty much maxed until I get into NOS raids.

Again I'm checking just to see if this is a problem in my build but after setting BYOS using a primary healing line-up it seems to just spam heals without any valid reason. After fighting about 4-6 trash mobs in vex thall, my hp remains between 98 and 100 hp but I'm at 0.xx% mana and reach this point well before the mana-hungry wizard.

The current spell line-up is Burst, Protective, Upbraid, Brilliant, Wave, Splash, Challenge and combat buffs.

I have no problems with burst, protective, or wave being spammed - the plugin seems to use these very intelligently, only upbraid, brilliant, and splash seems to be an issue. This happens even after setting HealsNotMA and HealsMA to 0 for troubleshooting. Does anyone have any suggestions that don't require me to change up to a DPS-lossy nuke line-up? Maybe some other setting I'm missing that should make healing more efficient?

the responses i gave you to the items in the pms you repeated are going to remain the same answers for those things. :p

we are going to use abilities while we're fighting. if you don't want the plugin to use abilities, you will need to pause it. I appreciate that some cool_pally_of_famousness gets more dps with not using nukes and stuns, which is why byos exists, so you can byos - because we try and accommodate for folks wanting to do things "their way" - but there are things that aren't going to be possible.

it isn't designed to be an "i don't do anything except autoattack and only sometimes do other stuff" it isn't intended or designed to do that, which is what you were saying in your pms

Brilliant:
- if we have splash memorized we're going to use brilliant before using splash
-- this is intentional
- there are obviously options to use splash or not and this changes our usage of brilliant

Splash:
- if we have a twincast and splash is available we're going to use it
-- this is intended

Valiant:

Remonstrate:
- we're going to use it during combat when we can, very late in our checks of things to do

- we use with the maheal and nonmaheal values, and an internal "shit has gone sideways" emergency usage value, no other times. We don't spam it.

Protective:
- if you are tanking and your target isn't targeting you we're going to cast it, or if you don't have the buff. we want the absorption.

Wave:
-We don't spam wave.
- we use it if you have more than 2 group members below 75 and NO other time, and this isn't even adjustable.

it sounds wild and crazy that you are out of mana at 4 to 6 mobs.

you almost sound like you have a whack UI that is reporting to MQ that all your teammates are 0hps --- and now you have me wondering if you just have your group window hidden fulltime and it mq is having a bad time about it. let me know if you hide your group window (and showing it fixes what you're describing), and i'll update the plugins to force it to be visible =p

Brilliant is being spammed though. I get using it if it's memed, that's the whole reason for meming the spell, one would think, but spamming it at a cost of ~2k mana with a really fast recast is a way to drain mana pretty quickly.

This is also being spammed when the tank sufficiently has hate and is at 100% hp. Again, with a ~2k mana cost and 5-second recast (fully focused/auged), spamming this is going through 48k mana every 2 mins by itself. If there was consideration for this, there had to be a reason. Why not make it an option? (do you have any api's or hooks that allows someone like me to create a plugin that hooks into yours to provide this? Do you have the source code somewhere - is it public?

When you consider that I just mathed out that 1 spell you acknowledge is being spammed goes through 48k mana every 120 seconds (or 24k every 60s), it's not hard to leap to 2 other spells doing the same burning 300k mana after 5-7 minutes, in fact, it adds up. 6min = 144k from one spell. Imagine if 3 spells are being spammed, right?

Now, to be fair, if I had 5k ac, 300k hp, and was constantly having to spam heal myself, I would fully expect this. But to be constantly pegged at 100% hp and 5 hate for the next guy on the list is a lot of mana turning to vapor.

Not to start a fight, but Pallies are primarily a melee class. When I've parsed out dps when just using straight auto-attack vs nukes+auto-attack I have consistently parsed higher using just auto-attack. It's not strange considering that a Raid T2 2hP Pally/SK weapon parses at 800K dps on normal mobs (non-burn, over 1.5m burn and 3m undead burn) and the best you can hope for with a 1s cast nuke is 300k if you get a twin crit. And being we're not bards and casting negates a melee tick, the math simply defeats the purpose of loading any nuke into a spell gem unless your weapon and dex is just... well; terrible with the exception being the nuke has a dual purpose - like healing; and such should be treated with heal logic, not nuke logic. Again, using it as a nuke is bleeding your dps potential and mana all in one go. As such, this is likely where I start fights, the dual nuke/heal and hate/heal spells are primary heals with a benefit. It's a shame I have to unload them to run the plugin to conserve mana for fighting trash.

Cool and Famous Pallies that I mention have pioneered the class for many a year. Ignoring their advice and poking fun at these folks because they're popular is fool hearty. I'm the last one to attempt to appeal to authority, but the names I gave really know their stuff and have been very much involved in the SOE influencer program.

Spamming nukes/heals may be a valid playstyle, I'm not knocking it, but I like to play for longevity and letting the cleric or shaman do their jobs while patching here and there when they die (because I fked up) or we get too many mobs and the cc isn't Johnny-on-the-spot with the mez.

I'm simply asking for some moderation on these heals and to be executed when needed if it is at all an option - again, by all means, add a checkbox or, give me an application hook or api I can use my own code on. I'm not a fan of reinventing the wheel though :P

Actually, Brilliant is using the same buff logic/conditions as the melee guards - it's being spammed because Valliant (a heal that uses the twin-proc of Brilliant) is being spammed. Fixing splash and Valliant from being spammed would fix Briliant from being spammed.

the further discussion now in both the PM and here isn't going to change the intended behavior.

I'm not poking fun at anyone, but as i've said before this is mq2paladin not mq2chip or mq2coolfamousguy or even mq2sic.

there is no hook or api to do those things.

some of the things you mention are based on assumptions that are missing the broader picture - that is not your fault because you're not the one trying to design something for all the various uses of it, but chat and I are, which doesn't mean we get everything right, but it does mean if we say "this is intended" it usually means there is more that we considered for it.

some things still don't make sense, however - you said wave was being spammed, but we only use them in specific circumstances, so either MQ thinks that circumstance is happening (which is why i asked about your UI and/or the visibility of your group window) or you have *something else* casting wave

the plugins aren't for everyone, and by their design and nature, they can't fit everyone in their specific thoughts on how something should operate.

kissassist offers much more granular customization and configuration with their conditionals - which you know because you send me how you do conditions in kiss to change mq2paladin to do similar - unfortunately, I don't plan on making those changes.

I appreciate your input, you (finally) posting to the paladin thread, and the feedback you've provided about it

I suggest you get a refund on the plugin and go back to using shitty KA because you can do it "better" my trashcan pal tanks great at 120 with shit gear and I don't have mana issues at all.

That's great that you're content using someone else's meta - call me conceited but I'd rather be the trail blazer, not the lackey. Once you do start getting non-shit gear and your auto-attack far out-dps's your nukes you'll likely want to start using shitty KA too because the spam nukes will fuck with your dps in a big way. When your primary is doing 800K on normal mobs non-burn and your best nuke can do 300-400k on a good day and stalls your melee tick, you'll either be the type that is completely okay with that because why maths? Or you're going to join my camp here and go "hey wait a minute, I'm bleeding dps!" - being as we're being candid with each other (which I do appreciate).

I'm being honest here as it seems you were trying to be. I didn't realize that was shitting up a thread, I truly thought it was an appreciated virtue. I'll stop, then.

I'll just leave this here as my final thoughts. Kissassist does work; it's slow sometimes, but if something is being spammed, you can simply set a condition. In fact with a few edits to the ini you can pretty much adapt it to adjust to a whole-new play-style. I get plugins are compiled but you made it glaringly obvious you have no intentions to add any options whatsoever to accommodate a playstyle that is less spammy and bot-like. If your toons are casting shit that it doesn't need to cast; people. ask. questions. I'd rather avoid questions.

While using Kissassist, I've never been accused of being a "bot". But since using this plugin, the accusation has been brought up 3 times now from 3 different people. Sure, I know them, they wouldn't report it. But, if they notice, others notice.

You **REALLY** should not be using plugins, macros, or even MQ at all on a raid with other players. If you're raiding a single character in a live raid of 53 other live players each playing just 1 character, there is zero reason to use any automation. As you've pointed out, you can out-play the plug in that situation. So just do so. Play the character legit and reach it's full potential. Automation is for the scenario where you're controlling multiple characters.
 
I seem to be running into an issue with my Pally no longer casting undead DD spells, specifically Eulogy. I'm in Loping Plains, pulling skellys and confirmed that they show as undead via "/echo ${Target.Body.Name.Equal[Undead]}", however Eulogy (nor any other undead DD) is being cast. I unmemmed the spell to see what would happen and it immediately memmed Eulogy back. I also tried unloading the plugin and reloading. I've searched through the forums and FAQ and am at a loss at this point. I was succesfully casting Eulogy in Hills of Shade yesterday. Maybe it's somehow related to AA's I purchased yesterday, specfically "Divine Stun"? I had to turn off use of that spell due to all the pushback. Over time, it was causing "camp creep" with my KA group members and I couldn't figure out a way to get around that, so I stopped using it. Any idea's how I can further debug this?
