MQ2Mage

Plugin - MQ2Mage (2 Viewers) 3.1.52471.11

cool, if you find more please feel free to be generous with what mobs specifically can't accept weapons - it may be a race of mobs or there may be some other designation we can utilize in determining it
I have not been successful at giving pet weapons to the dire charm elementals in Bastion of Thunder (POP -BOT). I remember them accepting them back in the day but haven’t been able to on riz.

I've went ahead and added the ability to purchase the mage plugin. There's no need to rush out and buy it. The idea was if you purchase it before a patch and use Next, you can PM me to get your Next license manually input. So, again, the official release date is the 1st, if you don't update MQ2 you can use it so long as your build of MQ2 is still functioning (Meaning until the next time EQ Patches)

I updated with todays build(last nights) and the mage (lvl 115) won't cast malaise aa anymore :(

let me know if you need any information or dumps.

next or mq2?

and i don't think you are having crash .dmps generated by an aa not casting... or if you are that is a bigger problem.

@Sic Using Next.

I've tried reforming my group also, didn't fix it. Tried unchecking usemalo and re-checking it, no luck either.

just checked both live and mqnext build

I appear to be using malaise as expected. (top from live, bottom from next)

did you turn off "usemalo"? or is your mob already almost dead before you think you should be casting it?

I have usemalo on:

Here is the casting sequence it is doing:

Just doesn't try at all anymore to cast it.

@Douler are you silver?

it appears if you have a rank II, and ARE silver, you still cast the rank 2 version of the spell, so this appears to be something that needs some further testing to determine if that is now all AAs for best-in-group or if this is a 1-off

Gold

I ran MQ2 instead of Next and had the same results - mage would not cast malaise aa. So weird.

Just tested on a few different mages.

it appears the max AA rank of malaise isn't returning the trigger spell on it correctly on either live or next.

I have no fix or eta on a fix at this time

This is Max rank 31/31 Malaise with:
AA: Malaise IX
the trigger spell should be "Malosinara"

but the it is not finding the correct spell from the eq/mq2 spell manager
Here are some lazy outputs so you can see what i mean
we are not spitting out the trigger from the spell, from either our trigger check, nor from directly checking the mq2 spell manager check

@Douler well, it took pretty much many hours of my life to track down where, and then had to tag in @brainiac (much appreciated) it appears cwtn and I were failling successfully like 99% of the time.

tl;dr - i believe we have a fix. thanks for your report -

I just wanted to swing by here and say that if you're buying mage wanting to get it for next, you have to message me to tell me you got it and need it setup for next. I looked at a couple of purchase and then checked downloads to see some are using next. So if you don't say anything I won't know. <3

You Rock! Thanks Sic

Any way to send a command to EQBC to tell mage to COTH me with MQ2Mage? For example I botch a pull and have 10 mobs chasing me(or I get snared mid pull).... so I hit hotkey(command?) for coth and stay alive till mage can call me and clear aggro?
May sound stupid but its better than dying or bringing 4+ unmezzable mobs to group with bard.

Thanks for all your hard work Sic.

yes, not something that mq2mage is doing to do as mentioned in the faq and in this thread in several places.

/bct magename //multiline ; /mag pause on; /stopcast; /timed 5 /target id ${Me.ID}; /timed 15 /alt act # (where # is your coth)

Thanks worked like a charm! I just need to remember to turn mage back on lol.

I'd be careful using that. If you're summoning your MA, and you have other toons set to chase, it could cause everyone else in the group to sudden run towards the MA, which was just summoned to elsewhere in the zone. I expect that could have less than ideal results for some people, or in zones where see invis is prevalent.

This is a button for puller only, just brings him back to group if I get in a bind.

I added 2 lines after what Sic showed me to turn mage back on. It was effectively used to get out of 2 snare situations when too far from cleric and pulling.
/pause 60
/bct MageName //mag pause off

I was getting to know the CWTN plugins (and they are fantastic I might add) on Test yesterday and made a new group of all CWTN classes (SK,CLR,ENC,MAG,MAG,MAG) and was in Crescent Reach and the ENC charmed a diseased spider and all 3 MAGs tried to give it weapons over and over.

My recommendation is to turn off giving out weapons if you intend to charm things. At this time we don't have all the information available for us to determine what should and should not get pet weapons. For now the toggle is the only option to prevent the issue.

Is there a way to have the mage only give weapons to their own pet? (other than manually - which is probably the best way come to think of it)

My mage was passing through South Ro. The pet turned into a sand giant. My mage then spammed Diminutive Companion over and over and over until I paused the macro. Can you alter the programming to allow for when the pet turns into something you cannot shrink?

unfortunately, we have no way of auto knowing that a xyz model has a min/maz size , if you want to stop trying to shrink it, you can /mag petshrink off otherwise if it is above 2.04 size, we're gonna shrink it (many models can go below this size with another shrink, but not all, that's why we use this size

What would cause this plugin to NOT have pet attack when I am getting hit. If i unload the plugin and i get hit pet attackes and taunts. If i have plugin in it doesn't attack unless the main tank targets and attacks. serious pain in the butt to die like that and i read thought the pages but might have missed the answer.
Thanks

Sorry...this is just hilarious...lol! Funniest bug of the week for sure

If you're in Assist mode, it only attacks the tanks target. If you're in a Tank mode, then you will do taunt and tank stuff. So if you're wanting the pet to hold agro on nearby mobs, you need to put the plugin into one of the various Tank modes.

if your ma isn't targeting something, we're not going to attack it. and if you have access to pet ghold, we use it so your pet doesn't do bad stuff.

if you have /mag pettaunttoggle on and are in a tank mode or assigned as main tank, you will turn on your pet taunting, if you are not set as tank, or assigned as main tank, and still have pet taunt toggle on - you would only toggle on taunt if your MA was dead. you still don't do any auto-targeting

I dont think the plug in is casting the steel line of spells, I watched the output for about 10 mins or so while the bard chain pulled to the tank. Didnt cast it once.

I'm guessing you mean shock / shockcombo? they definitely do cast them - they are not used during twincast, if you have that up at the time.

here's my guild hall 110 mage (this is with *just* checking that it does use the sock/shockcombo spell lines)
1628307903190.png

it is possible your other spells come back and are able to be re-cast due to your cast times / reuse based on what is more important to cast. (with my guild hall tester at 110 max aa, tov t1 gear, this is the case)

next update you'll be able to toggle off magic/fire usage (usage not spell loadout change) to help for tlp/lower lvl or other places where you would want that kind of control to say "don't use fire spells i have memorized atm" or "don't use magic spells i have memorized atm"

I do LOVE this plug-in, my ONLY issue is my Mages Chain cast Circle of Igneous Skin. Is there anything I can do to have Igneous only cast as needed? Thanks, Great work!!!

we only DSGroupCircle (in this case Circle of Igneous Skin) on tanks who mq2 says they're missing the buff - are you sure you don't have something else casting something that is overwriting it, like do you have something like a ranger (if their shield of rimespurs DS overwrites it)?

My Group is Currently; 115 Chanter, 115 Shammy, 115 Mage, 113Mage, 100 Mage, 115 Cleric. The 115 Mage and the 113 Mage are chain casting Circle of Igneous and single shot Igneous. The only way I can prevent them from fighting over who's Igneous we are gonna use is to put the 113 on BYOS. OR worse, pause. Will I need to do this with my third Mage when he levels up to get Igneous? Or should I just not get him Igneous till he is 115?
Thanks
