Release MQ2EasyFind

Dev reaponse: im working on it. I can add the connections back using the ini file most likely. Or I think a user could as well. The thing is we don’t know if this is a eq bug or if it’s on purpose.

Trying to get a daybreak dev response on the bug reports forum regarding this issue.

In regards to the MQ2EasyFind ini file, even when there is an entry there, the execution flow doesn't seem to reach the ini file since it cannot find a Zone Connection entry in the Find window. Is there any way to edit the data that appears in the find window? The only relevant file I could find was my UI FindLocationWnd.xml, but that didn't point to any sort of data file for the zones. I tried searching for some of the merchant names in POK but that only led to some brewall map files.

I was wondering if theres a list of traveltos cause some zones dont use the actual zone name as the /travelto
if not i will take some time to start making a list of all of them by expansion

it is /travelto shortname or /travelto "Long Name"

example:

/travelto poknowledge
or
/travelto "The Plane of Knowledge"

Ah i was unware you could use long name i tried it before. guessing you have to use "zone_name"
also sorry for making an off post for it, i forgot the name of the plugin
Was just wondering if there was a set list of short names

in your release folder there should be a zones.ini with zone long names and zone short names

Is this unavailable for mqnext? I can't seem to find the plugin to try and add it either. I've done update and fresh install.

It is not available on Next as it is closed source and the developer has not ported it over. As I understand it there is a replacement being worked on and is not ready yet.

I navigate using mq2map, it's not as nice but I can put up with it for the moment.

From https://www.redguides.com/community/resources/mq2nav.146/updates
Navigate from MQ2Map
(#15)
Use MQ2Map click feature to navigate to a specific location using the locxy navigation command.

Activate this feature by setting a MQ2Map click command: /mapclick left ctrl+shift /nav locxy %x %y and then ctrl+shift+leftclick anywhere on the map to go there.

Before in MQ2, I can use find window to click on npc, then my toon will auto nav to. But after migrating to MQNext, I click on npc name, it only show glowing path and doesn't move. What should I do to fix it??

/plugin easyfind

then control+click

if you need a way to remember it is control+click, it says it in the titlebar of the find window

to make your group navigate in the find window it is control+shift+click

Which component handles the action when you open the find window and right click to have your group to a ZL? I am so tired of it crashing my toons on certain ZLs. It wouldn't be so bad except when it crashes it puts the crashed toons back at the succor point which is typically nowhere near where I am trying to get.

mq2easyfind.

I would also strongly encourage you to start making the transition over to MacroQuest "Next". Easyfind is re-written there.

Sic,

Cntrl+Right click isn't doing the whole "group move thing" (i think it supposed to send a dannet or bcga command to the other toons)
I'm on Next as well.

Am I missing something? Tried combos, like Alt and Ctrl, Shift+Ctrl (all with rightclick) no dice.

Next easyfind is different than mq2 easyfind.

new easyfind self travel is Control+Click (reminder in find window title bar)
new easyfind group travel is Control+Shift+Click
If you selected a destination in your zone guide and want to activate it you /travelto activate

Wonderful, Thanks as always Sic.

Is this documented somewhere? I always try to search for my answers before I post and couldnt find that.

not as far as in this resource. like in the faq/commands etc

soon :tm: things will reflect any and all the "next" stuff via our wiki

What is it to move the entire group again if you wanted to? You mentioned it once and now I can't find that reply in discord.

right above your question

to make your group navigate in the find window it is control+shift+click

or if it isn't something in your find window etc

you can
/bcga //travelto zone if you wanted everyone to travelto
or
/bcga //nav spawn npc bilbo if you wanted everyone to navigate to an npc that matches "bilbo"

So if control+shift+click doesn't work what is the issue?
well control shift click is for your find window using the new easyfind as per the previous part of this discussion.

can we back up a bit and can you explain specifically what you're trying to do? we might be talking about two different things

From my main character I am trying to use the find button example if I am in PoK, I open find button and I want the entire group to run to Guild Lobby. Previously it was just right click it.

yeah ok, so this is what we were talking about using mq2easyfind

for next to:
single move a toon in the find window it is the Control+Click
group move your toons in the find window it is Control+Shift+Click

you could also /easyfind ui on your main character to open up the easyfind ui window, and then go to the "Find Window" tab, select which item in the find window you want to navigate to, and then hit Group EasyFind

Are you getting an error or other message when you do you the control+shift+click?

Ok so if Control+Shift+click isn't working, then what's the issue. Because when I do Control+Shift+Click only my main toons moves and not the group.

Using MQ2next, we have to hit control + left click the npc or zone line for the character to move. Back on MQ2 I could right click the npc or zoneline to move then entire group there, is there a way to do so with MQ2Next?

control+shift+click for group

When I was using the previous MQ2 version I would open find, click a name or zone connection and it was off to the races smooth as butter.
I have no idea what happened but today I started using NEXT now if I click find some of the names or connections show up highlighted in green and its also showing the distance I am away(this is cool) but the issue I am having is it faces me towards the target and draws a find path, but it doesn't move my character unless I open up the EASYFIND UI and click easyfind from in there.
Anyone know what its causing this for me, or is it happening to everyone?

This is what I needed, Thank you

My easy find works great, but I do have a question. How do I make my toon stop before it get to the target? right now once I hit find, its off to the races. I can change targets no problem and toon will travel to there. But is there a way to just make them stop? Went through the tread and didn't see anything, maybe I just missed it.
