Release MQ2BuffMe

that doesn't work. not all plugins are the class shortname.

you could do something like use this lua and do a /multiline ; /lua run cwtn unload; /timed 10 /lua run cwtn load
I had started out with individual lines for each plugin I was using for buffs, but was trying to compact it down. I will try out your script. It makes it even more compact :)

I started playing with this, and right off the bat I am having issues. When I type /buffme ui , the window pops up and immediately disappears. I did watch the video.

Yep, as fargrim says you need to change the setting to display it full time, otherwise it is going to close anytime it is open and it doesn't have buffs to do

Have a weird issue happening today. Some toons are fine, but some others won't cast buffs. I just get a "We found CHARACTER but they are not within range" even when standing right next to them. It's probably something dumb I'm doing on my side, but for sure Necro (DMF) or Enchanter (any buff or even /all) I can't get to cast. I've had Cleric, Druid, Paladin, and Beastlord having no issues.

That's pretty weird, I can't really think of anything that would do that, but I'll take a look.

Can you think of any other specifics that might illuminate something.

They don't happen to be in a spot that they teleported onto a campfire and have it moved right?

I'll have to check when I'm back at my computer pretty sure the spawn check we're using is for a player character but can you double check that they don't have a familiar out with their same name

No Familiars, they're just standing in the Guild Hall. Have zoned them out and back in just in case it was a weird zone bug.

Just as an added thing, I tried re-logging, restarting MQ2, and going back in. Same issue. Just on this character. I should mention that it's one character's personas. Currently running 3 accounts and the other accounts are fine with all personas.

Weird AF, dunno.

Would need to be able to replicate it. I imagine the persona bit is important, but

I'm thinking that too, but the other toons (Beastlord/Druid and Pally/Cleric) are personas on other accounts and had no issues. It's been that kind of day though, I was working our support desk today and weird issues seem the be the theme today. I'll chalk it up to my enchanter was on a buff strike and brought the necro with him.

They weren't on mounts were they? If so, get them to dismount and see if you still have a problem.
Is this a real thing or just something you made up?

I can't think of any reason why a mount would return incorrect distance for a spawn that we're looking for with specificity (PC, pcpet, NPC)

It's a real thing. If people are mounted, it fails to target them. I have to ask people to dismount often.

I think it's an EQ thing rather than an MQ2Buffme thing - I can have the same issue initiating a trade sometimes.

Real thing, bugs out when players are mounted and always says it's out of range. Hasn't been a big deal for me though, I just have a hot key to dismount all my toons

Reposting this here from the Convo in case others run into the same issue (and with the newer comments here, they WERE mounted....odd).

------

So, I did some more testing that seems to be at least a temporary fix/idea of what's happening.

If I change persona, any toons that have not changed zones at all, it will not casts buffs on. If I zone on of those toons out and back in, I can then cast buffs on them. If I zone out the buffer, it doesn't do anything to change it. All other toons that want buffs need to zone at least once for them to be "in range" of the character that changed personas.

This doesn't change the fact that I have no idea why logging them all out and back in didn't fix it yesterday, but I've been able to replicate this multiple times now.

Breakdown
Character A (Buffer) changes personas in Guild Hall (example).
All other toons in the guild hall will be "Out of Range" for buffs.
Character A zones out and back in, no change.
Character B (Buff Receiver) zones out of Guild Hall and Back In.
Character B is now "In Range."

As we theorized yesterday, Persona Swap seems to be the culprit.

real weird, but maybe steps to replicate. I wonder what is happening behind the scenes if it is an MQ or an EQ issue

if i can replicate and get details with TLOs outside of the plugin we can give that info to brainiac

Wonder if that an MQ or EQ bug. Weird
Yea I'm honestly not sure what could be causing it. If you need me to run any commands in game with it let me know, would be more than willing to help you track it (assuming it is an MQ thing and not an EQ thing).

This is such a great update. Coming from the other MQ land, the autobuff plugin's flexibility in being able to customize buff request aliases was great for any number of reasons. I'm very much in the camp of loving to see groups be an option in the future as well as not needing an initial keyword trigger like "buffme" or whatever customized phrase but regardless this is a stellar update.

nah, not going to remove the requirement for a trigger phrase

if this was cwtn/sic's cool mmogame then sure - but we have an obligation to try and have *some* safeguards in place to help people help themselves.

otherwise when you walked by we'd /say hey do you want a [buff]?

some things aren't just "well that's dumb they're doing it that way"

given the opportunity, many folks would take short cuts - and then tell their "not as tech savvy friend" to do the same, and then friend gets baspended forever and ever and is now a sadfriend

Very cool, but I can't get the ui window to stay open it opens and closes automatically, am I doing something wrong?
/buffme displayui on makes it display full time

/buffme DisplayUI true/false/on/off/0/1 - Always display the UI or not.

/buffme
Show/UI - Temporary toggle the ui window. --- this is for "i am in the process of doing buffs but i closed the window and want to see it again

Oh - I completely understand why it's there, the logic behind it and the plug and play/OOB experience this stuff is designed to provide, versus letting the masses get into the weeds of trying to configure allowed / denied friends/guilds lists and so on to protect themselves. Appreciate everything ya do with all the plugins and continual enhancements!

One question: When I issue a /buffthem <CharName> all, the buffing character are set to use Tranquil Blessing for their buffs, But for my shaman, he will do tranquil blessing on the Talisman of the Heroic buff, but it has not yet reset by the time he does his other 2 buffs (Tal'atak and whatever the other is) I didnt know if that was working as intended, or if there was a way to make them TB all of the buffs, rather than just the first one in the list. I tend to issue a command to everyone in the zone for them to buff everyone. If I need to do it as separate commands, I cna do that, just trying to make my hotkeys more efficient.

The main time I really miss it is for the Enchanter, where when I tell him to buff all, he casts the voice buff first, with TB, but then only casts the group version of Hastening without the TB activated.

yeah that is but i can think about it - i don't really want them to have to wait around, but it does make sense

Watching the vid and I see an alias tab on the ui, my version doesn't have it. I have the Lua on "watch" but don't see a way to update it manually. How do ensure that I have the latest version?

It isn't a Lua. It is a plugin. The plugin is automatically built with the build.

If you're on test, that build doesn't have it yet because test hasn't been rebuilt since it was updated.

Thanks Works great just the way it is
