Plugin - MQ2Bard 3.1.52471.11

we use suffering in melee/meleedots loadout.
we use sprysonata in melee/meleedots/tanksupport

this is intended and there are no plans on changing them.
OK I did some more testing.

So according to your Spells & Disc tab in the UI:
Storm Blade is Suffering line.
ColdCrow is Sprysonta.

Based on what you said both of these should be playing in Melee Loadout.
I can now confirm these are NOT working right, from watching plugin output and songs on my group.

In Melee loadout he is playing Storm Blade more often maybe every 2-3 mobs but still dropping off a lot and not recasting. (on group about half the time roughly) Not casting Coldcrow Sprysonata at all.

Also why is Melee loadout meming Arcane Aria (Aarcane line) ?
This says its increases DD spell damage, isn't that a caster song, or does it affect procs somehow? (still not Storm Blade so not useful at this level range where procs are very small tbh)

In Tanksupport loadout he is casting Storm Blade once every 4-5 mobs at best (its rarely on group and according to you not supposed to be at all), and he is not casting Coldcrow at all that I can see.

Also with Tanksupport, why is Nillipus march of the wee (Requiem line) being memed???
This song is way old and replaced by way better things like Coldcrow sprysonta with triple the AC.
And he is not even casting this at all. (This should be Jonthans Mightful Caretaker 100%)

Also neither of these loadouts are casting Jonthans Mightful Caretaker (this is an absolute must have)
Imo, songs also play in a bad order, it seems to prioritize first playing mana/hp regen, Veshma's, and Aria of the Artist then haste, all way before it casts stormblade, or Coldcrow. (if at all)
To me this is backwards prioritization, especially in Melee/Tank loadouts.

What is consistently constantly being casted across both of these loadouts in roughly this order:
Chorus of restoration
Veshma's Lively Crescendo.
Aria of the Artist.
Warmarch of Muram
Command of the Queen Veneneu - when needed (mez working very well!)

Was this Plugin built around max level Live gameplay?
My understanding is thats kinda different these days compared to like a TLP?
Would sorta explain some of this stuff if max level gameplay has combined some of these song lines.

I can't find any, is there a log output of this somewhere I can send you?

hey bud, i appreciate that you are enjoying the plugins - you keep posting that you think things are broken, but i think there is just a difference of expectation.

we dont plan on making any changes based on the things you mentioned, it functions as we would like it to function

you said:

because it is a tank support ability - it has a damage absorb. this line changes a lot later on in the game, but it is a "tank support" song.

The plugins were designed with "modern current EQ" and then worked backwards. so take Suffering which we always put in gem 10 --- you probably dont have gem10 at whatever level you're playing. Originally the earliest "Suffering" we used was the level 89 "Noira's Song of Suffering" so it made perfect sense to leave that for gem 10 --- later we added "Storm Blade", "Song of the Storm", "Katta's Song of Sword Dancing".

"Spry Sonata" line we put in gem 7 for Melee, Caster, and TankSupport, gem 7 gets disease dot if you are in casterdots or meleedots

You also have to keep in mind - at "lower level" the loadouts might look a little different than lower levels - and i'm guessing this is where the disparity is.

I'm not going to breakdown all the loadout stuff - because it is complicated and we will be here all day - and you also have some thoughts/feelings about different spell lines which i dont' agree with. but you can always byos/byos-custom and the plugin will use the things the plugin says it can use.

that is going to be your best bet

before you say byos/byos-custom is broken:
- it only plays songs we say it plays - you can't willy nilly memorize something that the plugin doesn't say it'll use
- no you can't adjust the priority/order

Yea I get that this is not going to do everything and requires compromises, and the game is very complex and has changed a lot over the many years/expansions but I feel like these items I mentioned are definitely broken, they are not casting at all, or barely, over hours of testing, and in some cases just not configured right imho (at least not at lvls 70-80) and just not a good fit for TLP players.

It makes a lot more sense now that I understand these are built around the current live EQ servers, they are different than TLP's so I get it now.

While these do have MUCH better logic and overall function way better than kissassist *especially engagement speed and using AA's, and auto configured and updating spells/AA's as you gain them (amazing!) I feel like there is just to much basic stuff not right to make sense on TLP's at lower levels, plus only supporting boxing on 1 PC, and only 1 group, its just not really a good fit for me at this time. (hopefully in the future!)

I appreciate the immense amount of work you put into these for sure, you guys have done some amazing things!
I was really hoping I could make the transition to these because everyone raves about them! (for good reason)
They are just not right for my needs at this place in TLP life.

Guess I am stuck with Kissassist, if only someone could clean up its logic and get it working better it does all of these things, and is *supposed to be* fully customizable, though you have to configure it yourself to change anything which certainly sucks and takes much more work and knowledge.

Wish I was a coder :(

Thanks for graciously entertaining my feedback and talking me through some of this stuff, it was fun trying them out :)

sorry to hear that - i still disagree with a good chunk that you said - but that is totally ok that it doesn't do things how you'd like it to

Hi All. I've noticed my bard keeps sitting down and standing up constantly when I have him on assist. I've gone through the settings and can't seem to figure out what might be causing that. Any obvious places to start troubleshooting? Thanks!

If you're in assist mode after the fight is over we go down and sit after combat.

If you have active downtime turned on you're going to stand up to send your active downtime songs.

Q. I don't want it to do Lively, Aria, War March / War Chorus during downtime.
A. You can turn off "ActiveDowntime". The reason it exists is so you can you be "ready" for combat, rather than having to wait several seconds to get all your buffs to be active.

/brd ActiveDowntime true/false/on/off/0/1 - b Should we keep up Lively Crescendo, Aria, War March / War Chorus, etc.

Ahh ok, makes sense. I thought I was stuck in some kind of infinity loop. Thanks again!

First of all, Thank you!

Just tried it out after the patch and love it so far.

Feedback/Question:
I'm seeing the buffs drop before they land again. Is there a way to adjust the timer for recast of songs so they always stay up?
Sort of a necro-reply, but I've been seeing the same thing.

With 3-4 songs in the rotation, the bard will sing all in the queue and then stop and do nothing until one wears off.

On further observation, It (seems to be) related to Selos, possibly because it's in the long buff window? It seems to be trying to time the songs in the short buff window so they refresh just as they fall off, but it won't touch Selo until it's completely gone.

hi bovinity posting "same" about something from several years ago all but certainly isn't 1:1 - the code you're talking about has been changed a bunch over time.

I'm assuming you're talking about selo's the old timey memorized song rather than the AA

selo's is definitely different than the other spells - it is *not* yielding (we dont not do other stuff because of selos), but we *do* wait on refreshing selos until it is gone - i'll have a think about this, cause yeah that is annoying after a second thought, i think i have an easy fix for this

Indeed, the old timey Selo song.

(Apologies for the "same" post, didn't observe long enough to see a pattern until I had started posting. :xd: )

It's not a deal breaker by any means, of course. Just an interesting behavior.

i had made an edit before you finished posting it looked like --- after a second thought, i think i have an easy fix for this

hey so im pretty new to this plugin, is there a way to keep the bard standing while singing and not sit > Stand > Sing song > Sit > Stand .... i would like him to ignore the rest of the grp and just stay standing while in active downtime mode.

you can be in manual mode if you dont want to sit, and then switch him to whatever non-manual mode you want when you want to do the thing

there's a chart showing sit/standing
